New Year - New Thread!!

Hope you all had a lovely festive season!

I went for a nice walk in the park today as it was lovely & sunny. Sneezed violently half way round and realised my pelvic floor integrity ain't what it used to be. Which got me thinking about New Years resolutions!

  1. DO MORE PELVIC FLOOR EXERCISES!!!
  2. Get Toned and Fit
  3. Get pregnant
  4. Sort out the garden

Obviousy number 3 may have an impact on 1 and 2!!

very exciting for you sweetbean well done to your dd.
Hazellnut, i didnt take your message as if it was no big deal at all!
DD woke at 12.55 and then 4.50 this morning, bless her she is so out of sorts Ive belted out of work, despite a huge pile of marking to do, collected her and as I type she is asleep. Hoping that maybe if i can get a decent sleep from her now she might last to nearer bedtime. Heres hoping. She slept for 25 mins this am when they went for a walk but its not enough for her.
Starlover, she already has her bunny comforter with her but i might try leaving a t-shirt of mine or something like that.thanks for that idea.
She also is so snotty which doesn't help either. She woke this am with a really gunky eye but eye wasnt red or sore. Do you think its possible for her cold to affect her eye too? Asked nurse who lived next door but one as we leaving this am, she looked at her eye and said it wasnt infected and nursery was happy to take her so couldnt be.
well done to those losing weight, i start each day with good intentions but by 3pm it all goes out the window!

W0MBAT · 11/01/2006 17:44

PJsmum - Sorry to hear about the sleep problems. My dd had exactly the same sleep pattern last week. I am not sure what it was linked to but it did coincide with days when she didn't have her usual 2 hour lunchtime nap. Can't the nursery try and stick to the routine you use at home?

Hazellnut · 11/01/2006 18:24

dd had a bit of a gunky eye at the end of her cold/strange virus thing - as you described, not infected just a bit red. Didn't last long though. Glad she had a little bit more sleep today though.

Congrats on the walking sweetbean - they're all growing up. Sent the invites out for dd's birthday party yesterday but think I am in denial... I never thought I'd be like that as I was never a 'baby-person' IYSWIM !

Well done on the weight loss Wombat.. its depressing this trying to be healthy lark !

Blondeinlondon · 11/01/2006 18:31

Hello all
I went to the gym today but feel exhausted now

Spoke to the creche manager who looked appalled that DS had gone without lunch last week. She was off that day and said she would speak to the staff concerned. She is lovely so I feel reassured

Saw a woman there I vaguely know whose LO is younger than mine. She was a size 6 and looked unscathed my motherhood

Blondeinlondon · 11/01/2006 18:31

by not my
woops

SnowmAngeliz · 11/01/2006 21:56

Oh Sweetbean, well done to the little walker!

Blondeinlondon, after my first dd i went to a size 6 too, (was always 8-10) everyone thought i looked ill! It really just dropped off me. Now i'm a ten again but still feel on the chubbier side of what i'd like but hopefully ill be with bump again soon!

Starlover, any news from the Docs??(did i miss a thread??)

Well, i was standing folding clothes this evening while the girls were eating and i took a sip of coffee and I can honestly say i've never felt anything like it, i went from laughing with dd to RUNNING to the toilet and was violently sick 3 timesI wasn't sick once in my other pregnancys!!
That along with heartburn already (HUGE sigh) bigger boobs and tears at RIDICULOUS things tells me the hormone is still kicking in, lets just hope the baby is too and that tomorrow i see it and it's betaing heart!

starlover · 11/01/2006 22:03

oooh well done sweetbeans dd! they're so sweet when they first start walking aren't they?

pjsmum, hope your dd manages to settle down at nursery soon... i am sure once she gets used to it it'll be much better... hrd in the meantime though isn't it?

went to the docs this morning, and actually saw a really nice lady...
saw a medical student first who took all details, then went into see the "real" doctor!
Anyway, she says she thinks it is probably a muscular/skeletal thing from being a lot more active with Linus. But am having blood tests done and thyroid checked etc etc.
she said to see how i go for the next month and if it's still bad then to come back.
she also asked if there was anything in particular i was scared it was! feel happy with what she has said though and will see how it goes!

Hazellnut · 11/01/2006 22:20

Glad things went ok at the docs SL, new doctor sounds just the job ! Hope you've calmed down from your other thread - that won't help . Was going to ask if I can come along as its up the road but I don't think I'd dare now .

Will be thinking of you tomorrow Angeliz but sounds like the hormones are still there ! Let us know as soon as you can ....

picnikel · 11/01/2006 22:38

Great to hear you're feeling ill Angeliz though sorry the heartburn is starting already - you had it really badly last time didn't you? Let us know how it goes tomorrow.

Sounds like your GP was really nice SL, and thorough too.

at the size 6 friend too, BiL. Comfort youself by assuming that childbirth will have destroyed her pelvic floor and her uterus will drop out in 10 years time, heh heh!

Well, poorly DH has taken a turn for the worse and spent all of today vomiting his guts up, poor sod. I told him to take his bugs away from me & dd and sent him upstairs with a bucket & a glass of water when I got back from work. He's been awfully quiet, hope he hasn't died..... I am an evil unsympathetic wife

starlover · 11/01/2006 22:41

oh hazellnut... you ought to come! it's just... i invite 2 people along to meet for coffee and then it turns into this HUGE meet-up with a ton of people i have never even heard of.
we decide on a date and then someone else decides we have to change it to accomodate someone who I don't even know and wasn't even invited and didn't even actually ASK if she coould come???????

ok, i think it is just PMT... although lockets did agree this mroning that it was pretty odd! lol

DO come though... i think we're meeting at eddiecatz now.. in putney????

starlover · 11/01/2006 22:41

ooh and forgot to say... angeliz that sounds VERY promising!

Hazellnut · 12/01/2006 09:28

thanks SL - actually I can't do monday (how about wednesday - ha ha ha, that was a joke btw) but if you like it and decide to go back - or meet in this area again, count me in, I'd love to come !! I agree though, your thread was getting out of hand, which is why I didn't express interest originally !

Hope your DH survived the night Nik - and that you and dd don't get it.

Am on the hunt today for a snow suit for dd for when we go skiing - I fear I may have left it too late, I ordered one from vertbaudet which came yesterday but its a really odd colour so was going to change it for beige but all sold out. So am going to have to go on a hunt... sigh...

Thinking of you Angeliz....

SnowmAngeliz · 12/01/2006 12:18

Hello all.
Good news. They saw the baby and a beating heart

I couldn't see it for ages and then i said 'oh yes i see a flicker' and the sonographer said "That is not a flicker that's a booming heart, it's fine"

So she's put me at exactly 6 weeks and said it's due on 8th September (though she's wrote 7th so i'll just go with that).

SnowmAngeliz · 12/01/2006 12:19

starlover, can i come too, i can do next Friday.

Hazellnut · 12/01/2006 12:26

Fab news Angeliz - have been checking in all morning to see if there's any news... I feel all emotional now . Really happy for you all ! Hurray !!

picnikel · 12/01/2006 12:32

Hooray Angeliz!!! !!!! Am so relieved for you. Have been checking the thread for news too .

Yes, DH made it through the night () but still looks terrible, poor man. So far dd & I are not vomiting....am keeping everything crossed that we don't catch it. I hate january - constant bugs, horrible grey weather all the lovely fairy lights are down, the bulbs aren't up yet.....yuk! Times like this I wish I lived in Australia!

W0MBAT · 12/01/2006 12:56

Congratulations Angeliz!! So happy for you.

Nik - hope your dh gets better soon.

Hazellnut - I bought a snowsuit from mothercare. It's quite flowery but looks nice on. snowsuit

starlover · 12/01/2006 14:31

angeliz... that's FANTASTIC news! am sooooo pleased for you!

thanks for that wombat - funnily enough, moments after my panic my mum rang and said 'do you still need a snow suit I've just found some in the sale'.... so hopefully panic over !!

Hello Jolly4 - good to hear from you.

Sorry to hear things aren't improving PJsmum - but as Tipex says, its almost the weekend ... some consolation hopefully.

Hazellnut · 13/01/2006 10:29

oh and PJsmum - my dd was up at 3.30 this morning and didn't go back to sleep till 6. I am lucky in that I can go back to bed and she slept till 9.30 but I did think of you at 6 thinking that if I was working I probably wouldn't have been able to go back to bed so you have my sympathies...

pjsmum · 13/01/2006 17:58

Hello, dd up at 4.30 today but went back to bed at 5.40 til 7.30. I sat and did marking how sad is that!
Dp is home this weekend so hopefully will get to catch up on some sleep although i did go to bed at 8.30 last night Thank goodness its friday and i got paid to day! Im very excited at having my own money again. Oh what can i buy??
