Hi all, I'm back - now we've moved over to the dark side :)
I also can't believe how quick it's going - three months already - but I'm enjoying most of it. Ds is a happy baby who is happy to wake up at 2-3 hour intervals ALL NIGHT. I didn't mind so much at first, but I think it is starting to catch up with me. I've entered the world of expressing milk [ouch] and hoping that DP can take his turn, finally.
I feel like I haven't got much to post as I have literally no life at the moment - how sad is that? We've had a few visitors - my mum who was fantastic and cooked and cleaned so I could cuddle Grin , my friend who was going to be married in July and I was going to be a bridesmaid, but that obviously didn't work out so she came here for some r'n'r, we used to live together so I didn't mind telling asking her to do things and my leaking various fluids all over the place (niiiiice :) ) and finally the PILs whose visit I was dreading but they arrived, had a cuddle, dumped loads of crap presents and left again!! Not complaining tbh.

jane I want to reiterate what others have said and say that I'm so sorry. It is sad, and I'm very impressed with how well you are coping considering [many hugs]

Sorry, keep x posting the list Blush Just in from gymnastics, dd1 obviously not me!!!, will catch up after dinner. Suffice to say without reading any more your fil is a knob Jane xx

knittakid · 06/05/2011 17:51

Hello all,
just sending lots of love and strentgh to jane, Those are certainly very hard news to hear, hope you are finding ways to cope. Xxxx

slowangels1 · 06/05/2011 17:55

jane your FIL has been useless for ages now Angry . I am so cross on your behalf . I hope your DH will tell him how terrible he is being - ledkr where are those torture impliments of yours you get out for such occassions? Wink

How often do people here see their PIL if they live close-ish to you? Just wondering out of interest really as PIL seem to be inviting themselves over or getting us to visit every week end. I know it's only a couple of hours and they want to see their gd, but as you know they can drive me mad and DH and I only get week ends together really as evenings are all about getting alice to bed and then DH goes off to bed so early so he has the nergy to take over the night shift for me. By the time we've done errands/cleaning etc at week end we don't get that much time together and PIL coming over every weekend is starting to annoy me but of course DH doesn't realise or is bothered by this. Phew - that was a long rant for a simple question Blush

ledkr love the spot the baby piccie Wink

ponyo glad the meeting went ok, but, yes, funny how the managers never get made redundant Hmm

slowangels1 · 06/05/2011 17:56

am I having deja vu with knittas post there or just officially going mad?

tadjennyp · 06/05/2011 18:04

No, knittas post is definitely up there angels! Make some plans with just your dh for a weekend before your ILs think you have tacitly agreed to every weekend.

Great pictures ledkr.

Hope redundancy doesn't affect you Ponyo.

Jane your FIL wins the most tactless person of the year award, try not to let his heartless comments get to you. Sad

ledkr · 06/05/2011 18:15

Angels-dont get me started on the pils. Are they staying or just visting? Id be beside myself as you know.Yes plan stuff everyother weekend or ask your friends or family over, its ridiculous and very rude,do you have to provide food too? By comparison mine have not been down that much but when they do its like a short break for them, food, drinks, showers etc.they must be due soon Sad They are away for the entire summer tho wooooo!

knittakid · 06/05/2011 19:07

So sorry, posted in a hurry, then came back later and computer had crashed so I thought it hadn't worked!!!

wigglesrock · 06/05/2011 19:12

angels my pil live 5 mins away from us (yes, yes I know), and we only see them once a week, well Mr W only sees them with the kids once a week, sometimes I see them more if they watch dd2 for me if I'm taking A to Drs or have somewhere to go, and we only stay for about an hour or so, they provide the tea and biccies and of course chocolate buttons for the girls Grin.

Ledkr Brillant pics, how beautiful is Ella - wow! and D is so cute, are you calling her Dilly, I noticed you used it in a previous post, its lovely.

JustOneMore Meant to say yesterday, have been giggling to myself all day, about ds1 calling Archie, Arsey it's so funny, cute, I just have visions of Archie aged 17 bringing a girl home and everyone calling him Arsey Grin.

Jane Completely understand how yesterday has given you more questions, but just to echo what others have said, you couldn't have known Zoe had Downs Syndrome, and again to tell you that you are a great mummy to Zoe and will always be. She will always be loved and remembered, I'm sure they'll be a few of us floating about this evening, I know I am, I'm picking up my parents from a boozey impromptu dinner - how bleepin' sad is that not only does my 5 year old have a better social life than me, but now my parents are having a sneaky Friday afternoon in the pub Grin.

debka · 06/05/2011 20:42

Gosh you're a chatty lot ATM, have a day out, come back and we're 5 pages down! That's the power of DEBKA starting the thread!! Grin

angels S goes to bed at 7.30 then sleeps till 5, feed, back to sleep till about 8. She feeds about every 2-3 hours during the day. However she has only gained FOURTEEN OUNCES since she was born 12 weeks ago so this is perhaps not the best act to emulate. I am starting to really worry, I mean, that's only an ounce a week, they're meant to gain between 4 and 8 ounces. She's gone from the 99th centile to the 25th!!! She is bright and alert and happy and (obviously) sleeping well- if it wasn't for the weight I wouldn't be worrying at all. But what if she just keeps losing weight? She doesn't seem to feed that well either, don't know if it's that I have a poor supply or something but I bfed DD1 successfully, can things change between babies??? AND she's getting eczema which I thought we'd avoided, her poor neck is all red raw. AND she's dribbling like Wayne bloody Rooney.

Moan moan moan. Sorry girls but I know you understand :(

OP posts:
wigglesrock · 06/05/2011 21:00

Bowing to the power of Debka Grin Sorry, can't help re the feeding but Anna is also been dribbling like mad. She also has a red raw neck, am alternating between sudocreme, and a touch of talc. Have been using Oilatum for her skin and it is so much better. Sorry can't look back at previous pages but has anyone given you any reason why S is only gaining a little? Also meant to ask you how are you pronouncing S name, there was a thread a few months ago talking about pronounciation of Sabine and I keep meaning to ask you Grin

debka · 06/05/2011 21:09

HV said she's just finding her natural weight, she was over inflated at birth due to the GD! I don't know.... surely she should gain SOMETHING??!!

I was using sudocrem but HV said not to, using DD1's DoubleBase instead now, and oilatum in the bath.

Do you know I remember that thread, it was before I had S and hadn't even considered it as a name! DH was the one who came up with it. We pronounce it saBEEN. Her big sister calls her BEAN, always shouted at top volume too!

OP posts:
wigglesrock · 06/05/2011 21:10

Debka was going to suggest you post in Feeding section but have just had a nosy over there and see you have beat me to it Grin, hope it helps x

slowangels1 · 06/05/2011 21:14

how else do you pronounce sabine other than saBEEN? Hmm

debka · 06/05/2011 21:14

Thanks wiggles :)

OP posts:
wigglesrock · 06/05/2011 21:15

Debka I like it pronounced your way but I lurve Bean Grin My friend uses DoubleBase but they will have to pry the Sudocrem out of my cold dead hands, I use it for everything, not just for the dds either, its my go to medicine for all ills.

wigglesrock · 06/05/2011 21:17

slowangels I think the thread said that in mainland Europe Sabine was actually pronounced Sabeena.

slowangels1 · 06/05/2011 21:18

oh, I knew a sabeena but her name was spelt sabina not sabine Confused

ElleB1980 · 06/05/2011 21:28

Evening!

Loads of messages since I posted this morning and I have very few words of wisdom thanks to a day of a whiney baby. She too has red cheeks and lots of dribble - am starting to wonder if the tooth fairy is on her way.

Re the weight "issue" Debka I reckon you'd know very well if DD wasn't feeding well and as long as she is there's nowt to worry about!

And re the PIL question angels mine are about 30 mins away and we usually see them once a week but they're very good about not turning up unannounced and things. My mum's about 2 hours away and she's usually down every few weeks and stays over but she's just had to fit in around any plans we already have

Might need some hand holding over the next day or so. Turns out DP should have been in Manchester on a stag do this evening but he thought it started tomorrow afternoon. Cue a mad dash up the M6 for him this evening. He's just left and won't be back til Sunday! I can't complain (even though R is refusing to go to sleep for the first time ever!) as I had three nights away last week for a hen do! It's quite daunting though even though I'm usually at home all day with her alone. Have already called up friend down the road to plan wine tomorrow!

Hope you all have a less whingey baby than me this evening!

ILovePonyo · 06/05/2011 21:45

Eek elle have a Wine and some hand holding, it makes a difference I think when you know your dp is in a different bit of the country, rather than just at work, so can't pop home if your finding things hard. Not that you will Grin

angels my PIL are 4 hours away. Shame! We don't see them often at all, the problem is when they do visit its not like they can just pop in, they stay for hours demanding cups of tea
Would you want to try explaining to your dh and see if he can have a word with them?

Yay to debkas thread! I love BEAN, very cute :)

wiggles I;m glad you mentioned the red raw neck, dd has it too and I feel bad about it. Do you fancy sharing some of the many uses of Sudocrem?! I only use on dds bum! And what is Doublebase please knowledgeable mums :)

ILovePonyo · 06/05/2011 21:49

Oh tadjenny unfortunately redundancy has already happened boo Angry At least I am on mat leave so don;t have to be at work, have seen work friends and they've been telling me how horrible it is there atm.

Forgot to say, dd was very fussy with her feed tonight and I got all stressed about routine, oh god what if she's up all night, she should be having her feed now and then going to bed etc etc. I need to bloody chill out because she's in bed now and seems fine, can sympathise with anyone who's felt like this recently Blush

ledkr · 06/05/2011 21:56

how come even those of you with pils a long way still only have day visits whilst mine come for a mini break?
wiggs thanks,Ella is a looker,knows it tho.
deb will you get over your thread starting love, jeeeeeze Grin
elles good luck,i feel a bit guilty now cos i stamped my feet about dh going on a stag do when we had just had Delilah,it was abroad tho, pricey and for 5 days!
Dilly is also dribbly and she has developed this annoying squeaky voice, you cant tell if she;s happy or whingey.
