Hey ladies,

Wow, lots of lovely photos have been put up over the weekend! (ledkr can't see yours :() You all look amazing, must be all that Shreding going on. I'm going to try Wii active since I already bought it, 3 days before I found out I was preg! What with all the preg problems needless to say I've not tried it yet, but will get Shred if it's pants.

Sorry about your letter ledkr, did you have the smear at your 6 week check? I was going to have mine then too (well 8 week check) but was advised to wait 4-6 months post birth as they often come back inconclusive after childbirth and scare the crap out of people.

Congrats on DOTD restie I had a peek, wow some people have strong views against! Really, I say whatever gives you confidence, you may find in a few months you can juggle without it, but really even if you have to use it for the duration of bf, it really doesnt matter, whatever works I say - I hope they didn't put you off!? I've actually asked mum to whizz one on the machine as Z has started grabbing everything, especially my top and exposing me to the world (or hair, ouch!!).

Jane I hope Zoes tree is ok! How are you feeling after the nasty thread? :( I too feel honoured that you felt you could share a photo of your beautiful princess. There are some heartless cows out there, who are just very lucky never to have to walk in others shoes. Sending you a hug (dont care how mn'ie it is..!) the wedding I went to at the weekend had a colour theme of cerise pink and black, which got me thinking, are you going bright or baby pink (& silver)?

ponyo Z slept right next to the jazz band at the wedding meal as that's where our table was, from 6.30pm (no idea why!?) until we left at 12am, waking once when he stirred right at a clapping moment which scared him. I took an extra blanket to half cover his pram to make it a bit dark, which worked wonders. How are you feeling about your function, on Friday?

deb I vote cutting it too. Do it for you, I think you deserve it. S doesn't look malnourished at all, she is very cute!

Who was it who joked grumpiness burns calories? Boy I wish that were true! Haha.

It's been really windy here too. Anyone else's baby still really gasping and then crying if wind goes on them? Z gets really upset :(

Sending sleepy vibes to the thread babies tonight x

Four4me · 23/05/2011 22:48

Oh god ledkr I wouldn't mention the book anywhere else on here except to the feb girls. Too much of a scared-e-cat to tackle the rest of them out there!!!!

Only just started it, so will see how it goes.

Loving having my evenings back now Archie is sleeping through, but must get the kitchen tidied up now!,, we ate at 6pm. Been too busy arguing with the computer.

reastie · 24/05/2011 07:18

justonemoreplease 44me love the piccies. Yet another lady who looks fabbo when pg (moi, Envy ?! Wink ). DC look really cute :) I haven't read the madeline book and don't think I will as it'll prob upset me. It's so heartbreaking for the parents never to know what happened to maddy - imagine living your life constantly wondering and hoping :( Madeline was on my possible girls names list but DH said no as it reminded him of madeline mccan Hmm

tarlia I quite fancied getting a wii fit thingy - tried core stability type balancing on one before and quite good (and more fun IYKWIM).

janedoe25 · 24/05/2011 07:39

Morning all. four4me your kids are all gorgeous, must take after you!

Zoe's tree is standing proud! Amazing when you look as there are trees 10 x the size of it laying across the roads!

Wedding plans for those who are nosey interested we have 85 guests? the venue is an all inclusive package in a nice wee hotel. We only have to sort out outfits, photographer, invitations, flowers and favours ( we were thinking along the lines of retro sweets?) I am having one bridesmaid (my wee sis) and a flower girl ( also my wee sis). Colour scheme of baby pink and silver.
We are not going to book a honeymoon, but we will probably get away after christmas, we love to go to Vegas and New York but our funds won't stretch that far and we also hope that i will be pg.

wigglesrock · 24/05/2011 07:50

Four4me lovely photos - damn you- thought I was getting over my broodiness for a 4th Grin

Jane Yay for the tree - must have strong roots Grin I went to New York a few years ago in January and it wasn't too expensive.

Anna woke from 3.30am - 4.30am for no reason, just to have a bit of a chat Shock

Off to pick up the honeymooners later - weather and ash cloud permitting.

janedoe25 · 24/05/2011 08:00

wiggles A must have missed you! the airports here in scotland are closed with the ash, fingers crossed fil has to stay in tenerife for a few more days!

ILovePonyo · 24/05/2011 08:30

Good morning, dd currently having a nap after making the annoying whingy noise again for half an hour Hmm

Yay for Z's tree jane! I was hoping it would stand the strong wind but kind of knew it would , hope that doesn't sound stupid. I'm not a wedding-y person but am actually loving hearing about yours, a big yes to retro sweets too - good idea! :)

four4me (have to admit I got bit confused as to who you were Blush) your photos are so lovely, such gorgeous children, and you too Envy Not read the madeleine book, don't think I will but cannot imagine how the mccanns feel. Have to admit since having dd its become harder to read about it.

tarlia I have a wii fit and havn't been on it for about a year Grin Its because the bloody thing weighs you before you do any excercise!
Thanks for asking about Fri, I am still feeling apprehensive and sometimes really want to just say to dp "you go, me and A will stay home" but I'm going to go. Just need to think to myself whats the worst that can happen a la dr pepper Wink Also its been v reassuring reading everyones experiences of similar 'dos' with their babies, especially little Z being a super sleeper, erm maybe he likes jazz?! Grin

ledkr dd was a pain in the bum to settle last night, weird. No advice yet but if I find anything that works I'll let you know. 3 dcs in Ibiza on your own Shock And heres me worrying about one fri night when I'll have dp with me :)

reastie how cute about the giggles, ah I bet it melted your heart. Best get another topic started so you can have another DOTD Wink

reastie · 24/05/2011 08:32

jane I seem to be getting carried away with excitement for your wedding - I've put on my profile a piccie of me and my bridesmaids as we too had a paleish pink colour scheme Grin (and it's not at all as really I need to clean out the kitchen cupboards I'm just trying to distract myself from starting Wink ). The little girl dresses were super cheap from h&m btw (think they were only about £15 Grin ) - took me hours of trapsing around shops to try and find child dresses the same colour as the dress I ordered for my sister and then found them in h&m of all places Wink . Retro sweets I like - I made little boxes for our favours and had a few things in them including a pack of love hearts sweeties Grin . Btw I know someone who had tiny boxes with 2 chocolates in them as favours - one choc was an irish cream and the other a turkish delight as the groom was irish and the bride half turkish - I thought that was a fab idea :) So glad zoes tree is still there - it's a strong tree

janedoe25 · 24/05/2011 09:22

reastie You looked stunning! i'm thinking of getting this dress for my little sister www.next.co.uk/x47630s5 and a silver dress with pink accessories for my bridesmaid? i'm finding it quite difficult to choose outfits as iam not a girly girl! It has been over 10 years since i last wore a dress!

wigglesrock · 24/05/2011 09:29

reastie I think my sister had the same dress, its absolutely gorgeous, I'll try and post some pics later to see.

jane beautiful dress for the bridesmaids.

Four4me · 24/05/2011 09:38

Jane thank god Zoes tree has not come to any harm. Still a bit windy here in N. Yorkshire makes the school walk/run a bit wild.

Love all the wedding talk, very exciting. I loved planning our wedding, proper bridezilla I was! I remember having a row with dh about his lack of interest in the colour of ribbon on the favour boxes. It's amazing how 4 kids bash the me me me out of someone!

Go on wiggles do the four kids thing. People think we are bonkers and I love it. To be honest if you have three any more makes no difference Grin

Can't see anyones photos anymore. Think it is coz I've changed names.

reastie · 24/05/2011 10:01

jane that's a lovely dress. I wonder if you can buy a flower like the corsage on it to put in the hair of bridesmaid with silver dress Hmm

Just had to share with you after getting alices first giggle from jigging her on dhs lap yesterday, I got her first proper laugh by doing 'this is the way the lady rides' with her facing me. Found a similar video on you tube if you have no idea what I'm talkign about if you haven't done it before (prob old hat to second + timers) www.youtube.com/watch?v=ae4IpOJhzeA&feature=related . Hope link works. I do it a bit different but she loves it when I'm really quite rough with the bouncing Hmm

44us have added you

debka · 24/05/2011 10:04

Had loads to catch up on- DH was fixing my computer so I couldn't come online last night.

Glad Zoe's tree survived jane

I am so Envy of those whose babies sleep through. S is getting worse- last night she fed at 10.30 and 4.30 then up at 7.30. It's annoying because I 'feed' her about 4 times in the afternoon but I don't think she actually takes much, her nappy isn't very wet at all when I take it off for her bath. Any ideas how to get her to feed then? Think I might post it in bfing topic.

DH has put some photos on this computer so I'm going to try to post some....

OP posts:
ledkr · 24/05/2011 11:01

deb, wasnt s ok before tho? Its probably sleep regression,d woke at 4am and wouldnt go back to sleep Shock she is currently screaming in her pram refusing to go to sleep even tho her eyes are closed, not much likinbg my baby life the last few days.

ILovePonyo · 24/05/2011 11:38

Sorry deb no advice but feel for you and ledkr, hope it doesn't last much longer.

You'll prob hate me for saying this but I just put dd down on her side and she went straight to sleep, she's been a fusspot last few days with sleeping in the day so was a bit Shock I should have thought of it sooner really as when she a newborn she slept well on her side, just didn't like doing it.

wigglesrock · 24/05/2011 12:07

Ponyo Anna has always slept better on her side Hmm

Reastie Have put some photos of sisters wedding up, trying to find some where you can see the dress.

ledkr I picked up sister and bil from airport and I had a huge pang of envy as I realised they had just had 10 days relaxing by the pool, swimming up to the bloody pool bar and the fact that they looked so knackered had nothing to do with being up from stupid o'clock with a baby Envy

But you've got me - I've just ordered the Shred Blush what can I say, I was starting to get organised for my hols and realised that good as Soap and Glory is it wasn't actually going to shrink any parts of my body. The only consolation was that I ordered Anna a Sophie the Giraffe teether (I know £12 for a teether, shoot me now, but I have coveted one for ages. Of course it was so bloody dear she mightn't get to touch it, at least not with sticky hands Grin.

reastie · 24/05/2011 12:29

wiggles I've been meaning to get one of those giraffes Grin - might have to follow your lead - it's not really the sort of thing I want to get second hand like most of alices stuff Hmm Wink . Actually, one of DHs customers gave him a few of their gds old teething toys as gd didn't use them any more and if I'm honest I feel a bit Confused about second hand teethers, but I'm sure I'm just being unreasonable Hmm. LOVE the wedding pics btw - did your sisters dress come from monsoon? If it did then I'm pretty certain it's mine. I can see the resemblance between you and your sis. V nice piccie of you and the girls (and also the one with mr w - but that's a bit far away to make out so well) . I like your outfit :)

No sleep advice to deb fraid - maybe try ponyos side technique?

ledkr · 24/05/2011 12:38

wiggles I am dismayed at you buying one of the giraffe teethers, all the zombie mums have those could have got a nice benefit lipstick for that price Grin you'll be getting an eye candy next.
Naughty D is asleep now,may try for a slightly later bedtime if i can.The problem with her is she has never leaned how to "go to sleep" only be rocked or feed untill she passes out i've never been able to do other wise as if i lie her down and she cries im worried its the reflux. I am reminded of a quote by Patsy from Ab fab. "its so long since i actually went to sleep and not just passed out that i have forgotten how to do it" Grin
I am shredding later due to having a heavy p and also can jump in shower afterwards ready for my 5 hr sleep Hmm

reastie · 24/05/2011 12:49

ledkr one of my friends has a sophie AND an eye candy - so what does that say about her Hmm ?

Well, it took me 3 months to discover that one of alices toys squeaks when you squeeze it Blush . Thought it was a bit of a boring toy before Shock - she loves it now it squeakes Wink

byronicheroine · 24/05/2011 12:55

Sorry about the sleep (or lack of) deb and led but you have had it ok up til now. Last night was a good night for us :) but that's not saying much - K went down at 8, up at 3 for a feed and then up at 6 for a fuss and came in with us. He then fed and slept until 9.30!
Just been to the bank and got ushered through into the director's office quick so I didn't have to wait with a baby Grin it was great. I did have a momentary wobble where I thought, naughty schoolgirl style "what have I done?" but I only wanted some cash as my card isn't working. I tried to think of something more interesting to get him to do for me, but I couldn't. He was very nice but said that the baby was very small (he isn't AT ALL) and that he looks like me (he is actually the spit of DP).
four4me lovely pictures and I'm completely in awe of you and your 4 little ones! I always said I wanted more than one and less than 5 but I'm rapidly changing my mind.... I can always change it again tho!

byronicheroine · 24/05/2011 12:57

reastie ha ha re. that toy. I also covet a Sophie and even have it in my 'basket' on Amazon for my next order (DP will rue the day Amazon started delivering free here - I've already had 3 parcels in the last month) along with a paddling pool!!

ILovePonyo · 24/05/2011 12:58

Have just googled that giraffe teether thing, its a bit... something... ugly?! Sorry wiggles! I found some Soap and Glory tingly firming up gel in amongst my many gels/creams etc, I am going to use it all week to get me nice and slim for fri Hmm Grin

ledkr please elaborate on zombie mums, I am intrigued?! My shred still hasn't arrived, another day off phew Grin

reastie you are def not being unreasonable re: 2nd hand teethers, that would be a big no for me.

Ok I've had the music channels on all day so far, and can I just say wtf to Jennifer Lopez and Nicole Scherzinger (however its spelled) new songs?! Bloody awful. Love new Beyonce though

americanexpat · 24/05/2011 13:20

We have one of those teethers but it was a gift. Does that excuse me? Not sure I could spend that much myself. L enjoys the squeakiness now.

It was a crap night here too. L spent most of yesterday crying, passed out in his swing at 7, I gave him a dreamfeed and put him into bed at 9. Woke at 10:30 for a feed, then again at 2 and wouldn't settle so I brought him into bed. Then he woke again at 5:00 Shock and wouldn't go back to sleep. I don't get up that early so he found himself in his swing where he eventually went to sleep - but now I'm sore from sleeping on the sofa. I was not pleased with DH when he dropped L screaming into his cot at 2:30 and went back to bed, didn't even try to settle him. Angry

jane - I think you've created a monster with reastie. Grin Glad Zoe's tree weathered the storm. And such a shame if FIL can't get home...

Crying baby is calling...

Tarlia · 24/05/2011 14:07

restie and wiggles beautiful wedding photos!

Jane I'm so pleased to hear about Zoes tree, I was a bit worried. She must have been looking after it :).

We have a Sophie too, Z loves it. It reminds me of a toy I had as a baby (in photos).

I totally agree about second hand teethers, but I know on the other hand I'm silly, as everything a baby can get it's hands on goes into it's mouth, so all toys are teethers really.

Byron my OH is a bit Hmm about Amazon too Grin. But everything is so expensive here, so it's fab. I keep hearing myself saying "have a look on amazon"!
