Please can someone add me to stats -

ILovePonyo - Anya, 14.2.2011, 6lbs.

I agree with deb, it would be an honour to put Zoe on the list if that is ok with you jane.

JustOneMorePlease · 05/05/2011 21:14

Thinking of you Jane. Such a sad chain of events, if you want to chat in the future about screening I'd be more than happy. Ds1 has downs and I had a cvs for all three of the other dc's.
Take care my lovey.

Right, I have got over my scunderment of getting Anna's dob wrong Grin. A quick question, I know babies eye colour can technically change up to a year, but when did you find the colour actually stuck if you know what I mean! A's eyes are the most beautiful blue, but dd1 & dd2 both have the darkest brown eyes. Just wondering if she'll be my blue eyed girl forever Grin.

slowangels1 · 05/05/2011 21:33

I've been wondering the same thing wiggles. Another beautiful blue eyed girl here Grin

jane since my last message I've been thinking non stop about you and how you're getting on and I feel so helpless - wish there was something I could doto make things better (which I know is impossible).

janedoe25 · 05/05/2011 21:34

Ponyo i would love Zoe to be on the list, She was born 28/2/2011 and weighed 7lb 2oz.

justonemore thank you.

ILovePonyo · 05/05/2011 21:38

wiggles I did chuckle earlier when you said you'd got her dob wrong, heehee!

Not much help with the eye colour sorry, my mum thinks dd's were dark blue at birth, I disagree, they were almost black, lovely brown eyes now though for the past 8 - 9 weeks?

So like I said, not much help really sorry Grin

Am off to bed, back tomo to catch up properly and post more xx

ledkr · 05/05/2011 21:43

jane what a shock love-i was hoping just one more would comment-you must be feeling such a mix of emotions now including some anger i should imagine, will anyone be held accountable for the poor decisions made, how frustrating. I had odds of 1 in 600 but that was good cos im an old boot but i can highly recommend prof Krypos at fmc in London should you need advice and tests in the future,he is an amazing man. Rest up now girl, there is no more you can do,we are right here for you.

Delias D has stopped the waking early with it for now and sleeps really well HOWEVER saying about the weaning,i was told to give the omeprazole in some pear puree now to make it absorb better, she is 14 wks so i thought id give it a go,unfortunatly dh decided to give her quarter of a jar of it whilst i was out yesterday Shock she woke at 11 with terrible reflux and it took me 2 hrs to settle her again,i can only assume it was the solids so wont be rushing things at all. I think they also like them eating solids before the cleft surgery as they find it too painfull to suck after.
Do you find it hard to give the zantac? D goes mad and almost chokes on it,any tips?

ILovePonyo · 05/05/2011 21:43

wiggles thats much better than my attempt, perfect xx

WanderingSheep · 05/05/2011 21:50

Wiggles, DD1 had unmistakable blue eyes from birth and still has huge blue eyes. DD2 has big brown eyes now but at first I thought they were going to be blue.

tadjennyp · 05/05/2011 21:57

Wiggles, DD had navy blue eyes from birth and still does 5 years on.

ElleB1980 · 05/05/2011 22:37

Ladies,

Okay...new thread resolution to keep up and get posting. I've been keeping up but not posting but I now have fancy pants iPad so no excuses!

Jane I can only echo what the others have said. You're often in my thoughts.

I've just done all sorts of wiggling with my iPad but I can't seem to copy and paste even though I know it must be possible. There's Wine on offer if someone can add me to the stats - Girl, Romilly, 17.02.2011, 8lb 11.

I'm not sure about the eyes thing - I think I heard it can take 2 years for them to settle into their actual colour but then I also think I heard it takes a few years for babies to get knee caps and I'm not sure that's true....

Anyway, off to bed for me, well, off to feed R to hopefully get her to sleep through. Thought we'd cracked it but we had a few 4am shouts last week so it's back to the trusty dream feed...

ledkr · 05/05/2011 22:54

elles when i got my netbook for xmas i became a serious mumsnetter.
D sleeps like a dream now 8-7 but last night woke up at 11 but could have been her reflux,i struggled to keep her awake tonight so she went early so God knows what time shell wake up,its so hit and miss in these early days.
Can i ask how many feb babes are in their own rooms now? I really want my room back,am fed up of tiptoeing around, they seem easier to disturb now older dont you think?

ElleB1980 · 05/05/2011 23:07

ledkr R has been a fab sleeper all along (famous last words!). After the first week or so we've always got at least two four hour stints and since we started actual bedtime about 6 weeks ago she has gone 7-7 with just the 11pm dream feed. we tried to drop that one last week but saw 5am a couple of time (we think due to soggy nappies rather than hunger) so we've brought it back and might experiment again next week while DP's on holiday....don't want to tempt fate though!

ElleB1980 · 05/05/2011 23:08

Oh, and R's still in with us but if she carries on doing impressions of warthogs during the night she can sleep in her own room and like it! I'm trying to stretch it to 3 months before I start trying it...

hubbard86 · 05/05/2011 23:33

jane my dh and i often think of you and zoe and i feel so much for you. You are in our prayers. I hope today has given you answers even if they weren't what you expected.

hubbard86 · 05/05/2011 23:47

can someone please add me as i am unable to do it on a mobile. Freya 24/2/11 8lb 1.
Hopefully my netbook will arrive tomorrow so i will no longer have to use my phone to mumsnet. Thanks for all the messages of support, i always feel worse with lack of sleep and between the anxiety and freya sleep feels like a distant friend. She slept 9-4.30 last night which is the best she's done so far.
Freyas eyes are so very blue, i keep expecting her to wake up and have chocolate brown ones like her brother. His eyes never lightened. I am hoping she stays blue as she has blonde old man hair (just around the sides and back, bald on top )so i hope she'll eventually get blonde ringlets like her brother.

ILovePonyo · 06/05/2011 08:35

Morning :)

Hi Elle, Romilly is a lovely name. I know what you mean about the warthog impressions! dd is very 'grunty'.

ledkr I think dd will be in her own room in about a month, need to get blackout material on the curtains (ie get my mum to do it Blush) and get her sleeping unswaddled too. She's very long in her moses basket atm, in a way I feel a bit sad and I'll miss her but also think we might all sleep better when she's in her own room!

canoe I found swaddling really helped dd with her sleep too, I am kind of dreading stopping but like I said I want her to be unswaddled when she goes in her cot, eek.

Hi delia, C's reflux sounds horrible poor thing, I know what you mean about the bonding, I miss dd when she's in bed upstairs sometimes Blush Glad to hear you;re doiing better now :)

I have a meeting at work today about my redundancy Hmm Taking dd so hope she doesn't cry all the way through it Grin

wigglesrock · 06/05/2011 09:01

Lovely to hear from some of you, that haven't been on in a while.

Hubbard86 laughing at "old man hair", dd2 had the same and she has lovely hair now, but no ringlets, mine tend to have straight as a poker hair, which no doubt will start to frizz as they enter the teenage years, costing them me a bloody fortune in shampoos etc Grin. Good luck with the netbook Envy

ledkr I think if A wasn't still waking up for a feed in the middle of the night, I'd think about moving her into her own room, its difficult/awkward with Mr W and the shifts having her in the room. If he is working nights and sleeping during the day, I won't be able to put her to sleep into her cot in our room, at the minute she's still in the Moses basket, so I'm moving that about but she's getting very long.

ElleB I remember hearing something strange about kneecaps too, can't think what it was though!!

Good luck with the meeting Ponyo I missed a phone call from work the other day and I'm getting a bad feeling about it!!

ledkr · 06/05/2011 09:24

elles i did bedtime from day one!Im such a biaaatch when it comes to sleep, she has always slept from 7ish for a long time but she was waking at 4ish-not a problem if they feed and go back down but the reflux would kick in then and she couldnt go back down hence many days started at 4am She seems to have cracked that now and last night went 7.30-7.30,i am so gratefull and anyone who is jealous just remember I AM 43!!!! i need my sleep and have done this 5 times now Grin Im sure this isnt the end of it tho,i have bitter memories of teething etc hahaha.
D's eyes are dark blue we all have dark brown but im pretty sure they may have atin ge of brown coming out now.
I cant wait for her to be in her room,i wo!nder why babies are such noisy sleepers, she was wriggling and farting all night dh went out for a few pints so he got up for the loo more than a pg woman.

JANE did you manage to sleep? I bet your head is whirling. Are you working today?Get your lovely friends round tonight for some support.

slowangels1 · 06/05/2011 09:45

To all those who talk about their babies sleeping through the night (or for what seems like a v long stretch) do they have a feed in the night at all or do they really sleep for that many hours? Shock Confused Envy I thought we were doing well with alice who usually goes to sleep for the night about 8 and then has a dream feed at 10 and wakes up for another feed at some point before she gets up for morning feed at about 6:30 and I keep being told babies usually don't sleep through (as in an adult length not the stupid medical term of 5 hours) until at least 6 months. So - have you lot got either dazzlingly amazing sleep training parenting skills or just lucky or actually your DC sleeps through the night but with a feed or two during that time?

Hope jane is OK today - I can't imagine how frustrating it must be. If it were be I think I'd be fuming at whoever took the hb and didn't realise something was wrong. It must be terrible enough to go through what you have jane, but to now find out that....

Alice has 'discvered' mirrors today Grin. Every morning I show her herself in the wardrobe mirror and see what she does. for the first time today she kept looking at herself and grinning Grin. must be nice to like your own reflection in the mirrir

ledkr · 06/05/2011 10:11

angels this is what i know. Bf babies dont go thru as quickly as ff babies.
D and a few on here do go thru about 10-12 hrs but they have to be trained and also dont forget D is on high calorie milk too. Most babies of our lo's ages dont sleep thru that long but if A sleeps all night with just feeds i think at least she knows the difference between night and day.
So here is what i do with D not that it will work it maybe i am just lucky and its all subject to change.
I have always put her "to bed" after about 7pm,in the day she sleeps in pram.
I swaddle or bag up at night and she always has a bath before. When she was waking i fed in the dark with no change or stimulation of any kind. I find my babies all gave up the late feed before the middle of night ones,ie slept longer and longer over time. Therefore i have never woken them to feed just let them sort themselves out iyswim.I woke D once for a dream feed and she woke up all night. Feed wise she feeds 2-3 hrly in the day and has only one long nap-about 2 hrs then has 2-3 cat naps of 30mins at the most so she needs her night time sleep. I have not forced any of this tho merely encouraged it-oh yeah and she has a temazepam before bed too Grin
