Ponyo I use sudocrem for rashes, bites, spots, razor burn (leg shaving!), amything that stings, but what its absolute best for is sunburn, especially exceptionally unattractive sunburnt noses Grin and of course carpet burns Wink. I use it for bums the least, I'm really lucky dds don't get sore bums a lot!!

Elle You'll be fine, hope R settles for you.

ElleB1980 · 06/05/2011 22:16

Thanks for the Wine and hand holding. R has settled now so am thinking the late bedtime might mean I get a lie in....?!

I don't mind him going, especially as we have to miss the actual wedding despite the fact I am bridesmaid, they're getting married abroad and we just can't afford it while I'm on Mat Leave. they're having a blessing when they're back though so I'll still be bridesmaid for that. Just need to work on getting in the dress. Started online Weight Watchers this week so hoping to drop at least a stone by then (which would still leave me 2 stone over my ideal).

DP was made redundant recently too (I feel your pain ponyo ) but he's got a new job lined up to start in a week. I'm hoping he can still blag some holiday ovr the summer though as we have another couple of weddings booked in already and I like to make a long weekend of them when possible.

wigglesrock · 06/05/2011 22:39

Ledkr Anna has started to make a strange little noise like a goat when she 's getting really impatient - sort of like maaaaamaaaaamaaaaa, Mr W is just waiting on her tagging maaaammmmy onto the end of it Grin.

Well parents are back from their booze fuelled Fri evening, they actually ended up in the bar my sister runs so she dropped them home, but don't think it was too messy. My parents can hold their drink like no-one I know, they actually believe that wine doesn't count as alcohol, think they figure it into one of their five a day because of the grapes Grin

WanderingSheep · 07/05/2011 08:35

Wine as one of your five a day? Of course! It all makes perfect sense! Wink

Aw, I remember playing schools with my dolls too! It doesn't seem that long ago.

Ledkr I looove Dilly as a nn for Delilah! Sooo cute! Makes me like the name Delilah even more! Smile

Jane I despair of your fil, I really do! Angry Although I'd expect nothing less from him TBH.

janedoe25 · 07/05/2011 09:51

Morning girls, I'm feeling a bit better today about things sleeping must have helped!

justonemore thank you for sharing your little boy with me, he sounds like such a charmer and i was giggling away at "Arsey"!

debka "bean" is so cute, im impressed with your thread starting power, its been so busy!

wiggles Thank you for the wee bit about Zoe on the stats, its beautiful.

angels i would be hiding behind the sofa when the pils knock on the door!

knitta Thank you for your kind thoughts. I hope you and Pablo are well.

ledkr i had a nosey at your pics, they are fab, you have two beautiful girls. I think they both look like you! Oh and Dilly is so cute.

elle you can hold onto my hand too, im sure you will manage fine though.

Phew think i have finally caught up, sorry if i have missed anyone! Hope you all have a fab weekend.

wigglesrock · 07/05/2011 10:06

Jane no probs, hope you can continue to get some sleep over the weekend, maybe catch up with some friends, oooh look at me organising your life for you Hmm, Grin xx

ElleB1980 · 07/05/2011 10:29

Morning!

Jane Thanks for the hand holding.

It's going well so far (touches head in lieu of handy wood). I dream fed R at about 11:30 and she woke at about 7:45. I was awake well before her! Feel like I've been up hours now though as nobody to talk to. Will go and annoy some friends later and their 3 year old can amuse R.

R is napping on my knee at the moment. Has anyone got daytime naps sorted? I just tend to let R nap wherever but if I try to make her nap in her basket or cot she rudely declines the opportunity.

I've checked her knee caps btw and I'm not convinced she has any...

wigglesrock · 07/05/2011 10:49

Morning, Anna got up at 5am!!! this morning, full of the joys of Spring, in great form but no hope of getting her back for a sneaky hour, so I brought her downstairs, and now am knackered. Have sent Mr W to his Mums with all 3 girls, so she can fill them full of chocolate and spoil them with sticker books, an obsession of dds.

Elle re daytime naps, I let A nap wherever she wants, although to be sneaky I stick her in her carseat and rock her quite quickly, she usually goes over. She starjumps a lot in her sleep so for a daytime nap, her moses basket can be more trouble than its worth, she keeps hitting the sides Grin.

I have a vision of us all queuing up at health visitors offering up babies knees and asking them to check for kneecaps Grin

byronicheroine · 07/05/2011 11:11

Yeah- K's been up since before 6 too, but is now conked out in the sling. That's where he sleeps by far the best. He's not sleeping through by any definition, but does "only" wake for feeds so I don't mind really.
Must be naptime for me soon, am stuck in a cafe with dp waiting for the amazing non-appearing client. Think we're going to sack it off and go home :) Enjoy your Saturday ladies and babies

ElleB1980 · 07/05/2011 11:33

wiggles Hhhmm, hadn't tried car seat. She does nap on me but that doesn't help me drink tea and mums net get my jobs done. Have just tried cot as R too is a star jumping freak and she had 30m but as soon as I turned the White noise track off she woke up.

About to brave the pouring rain...might use sling as can't manage pram and brolly!

ledkr · 07/05/2011 12:51

I must admit im too scared to try daytime naps in a proper bed rather than on me pram swing or carseat,im pretty sure thats why she sleeps well cos associates the basket with night time.I even took the basket and pram on holiday.
Dilly slept well last night but i have been ill.I hurt a muscle in the gym on wed,my neck has been tender which then radiated into my head by Thursday and was terrible yesterday.I thought id sleep it off but woke up with it worse.
I have seen the emg Dr who says its from the neck injury and gave me some strong pain killers so i am now monging in a drugged haze on the sofa watching a slasher movie mn and drinking lucozade.Dh is off but, back in tmw,i forgot how much you dread getting ill with a young baby.

slowangels1 · 07/05/2011 13:29

I'm Grin at whether ledkr, when d too big for moses basket will try to take a full sized cot in her suitcase to ibiza for one of her famous partying hols so Dilly (love the nn btw) can have a good nap Wink Grin

elle glad going ok on your own so far (despite rain with pram).

Thanks for PIL comments. I feel really bad as they arn't as bad as lots of you moan about, I'm just getting quite frustrated with some behvioue and the fact we seem to see them every single week end. Am trying to busy DH and myself with painting the family room tomorrow - not sure how that will work with a baby about Hmm

ledkr that'll teach you for going to they gym and being healthy Wink . Seriously, I hope it gets better soon. I was only thinking earlier I wonder how on earth I'll cope when I'm ill and having to look after alice.

We just picked up a high chair for alice . Won it on ebay. A nice wooden one that lasts through childhood apparently (tripp trapp rip off style).

Have got a killer headache today - either hormones or the weather (anyone else get a humid/stormy weather headache)?

Bensmum76 · 07/05/2011 13:32

Hi all
Noah did quite well last night, cried out twice when swaddle had cone undone but went back down quickly. We ordered a proper swaddle pod on Thursday night and it arrived today so he has just gone in his cot in it and seemed to calm down as soon as we put him in it.
I'm trying for all naps in the house in his cot bur if he cant manage it I dont have a problem with him sleeping on me.
We went to a play session this morning and he slept for an hour and a half in his car seat with a jacket over the top to block out the light!
Ledkr, hope you feel better soon, it is miserable being I'll when you have a little one.

americanexpat · 07/05/2011 14:24

L used to have daytime naps in his swing but I've been stricter about putting him in his cot during the day too. He takes a couple of short naps and a long 2hr nap (though wakes and has to be shushed backed to sleep once or twice). He does sleep better in his cot but it's more work to get him to sleep. He slept in his cot last night 10-6 (woke twice in that time though) then in to our bed. He has trouble getting back to sleep after the sun comes up, even though we have heavy curtains. I guess we need to try a blackout shade as it's only going to get worse.

slowangels1 · 07/05/2011 14:50

just had an unaccounced visit from PIL to deliver DHs bday pressie (his bday is over a week away and we are seeing them next week end Hmm ). Unfortunately I was upstairs feeding A the whole time Wink

ledkr · 07/05/2011 15:09

feel a bit better now ladies, thanks.Mega tabs did the trick,my friend has just cancelled her girly evening as she has a similar thing,im wondering if its a virus.
angels thats the style, last time pild turned up unnanounced i stayed upstairs for ages,i was having a clear out of mine D and E'S and it wasnt my fault they gave no notice. There was a very frosty atmosphere when i finally emerged as coffee called to me,this pissed me off so i went out Grin
They must be due soon

Bensmum-i know Noah p's you off sometimes but i love the fact hes so cuddly and loves you so much.Dilly looks irritated if i cuddle her and growls if i touch her-shes going to be feisty like me and Els. I will never forget dh trying to put her on the naughty step when she was a bout 4, "you are squeezing my arm! she shouted "you do not squeeze a small childs arm!"cheeky but funny too.

wigglesrock · 07/05/2011 15:42

Ledkr no good ever comes from the gym, glad you're feeling a bit better, I had a niggly headache yesterday angels and have had a headache on and off for most of today but put it down to being up so early Hmm

Naughty steps weren't a big success in our house, dd1 and dd2 both thought it was great fun being put on the naughty step when I tried to do it, but they really respond to counting like I'm going to count to 3 then you are going to put your shoes on etc or they really hate it when I don't talk to them, that is my trick Grin

Bensmum76 · 07/05/2011 17:33

Ledkr, thanx, I am lucky that Noah is such a cuddly baby, just need some space sometimes! Glad your feeling a bit better too.
Well, its peeing down with rain here, we just made it home from a walk to the local lake and shops before it started! I hope this rain doesn't last long, I love being able to go out for nice long walks with the boys.
Tomorrow i have the whole day to myself - yippee!!! I'm sending dh to in laws with the boys! They asked what time to expect them and I said EARLY!!!!
Hope your all ok

ledkr · 07/05/2011 18:19

lovely bm,dh just walked D down the shops and it was bliss but his mate rang and chatted o me the whole time grrr.
My ds 3 was amummys boy,if i asked ex h if a dress looked nice on me and he said no,ds would berate him angrily "Mummy is lovely" he just used to stare at me for ages. Not like it now tho,hes too busy with his mates for his old Mum.

janedoe25 · 07/05/2011 19:06

Glad your feeling better ledkr. How cute of your DS to stick up for you!

I have packed DF off to the pub, cant take him asking "how are you? Are you ok" every 5 mins! So im sat in the couch watching Greys anatomy and on MN, all my friends are either heavily pregnant or dealing with their babies and toddlers so im on my own.

ledkr · 07/05/2011 19:09

oh babe, your turn next im certain.

ElleB1980 · 07/05/2011 19:36

Evening all,

Jane we can have a virtual night in together if you like. I'm gonna have a Wine but you're welcome to a [tea] if you'd rather. Now why isn't there also an icon for cheesecake?! I'll probably watch BGT though.

Had a pretty good day with R, she's in bed now listening to her White noise. I'm going to try and creep out of the room. She showed me up good and proper at my friends with her shouting, I'm surprised they didn't boot us out mid-tea! Their 3 year old did a sterling job of trying to out shout her though.

Bensmum Am v jealous of your time alone tomorrow. I'm hoping DP gets back fairly early so I can read the paper on my own for an hour. He's on hol next week too so I should sneak a couple of lie ins.

Still trying to stick to Weightwatchers. There are some photos on FB from last weeks hen do and I look like a bloody whale! Not sure the Apple Strudle for dessert at my mates house helped though....

janedoe25 · 07/05/2011 19:56

Mmmm cheesecake! shame im on a diet and health kick, i shall stick to the tea for now Elle Hope R is sound asleep now and you get some peace tomorrow.

WanderingSheep · 07/05/2011 19:57

Apparently, babies do have kneecaps but they are very soft and flexible and don't show up on x-rays Confused

WanderingSheep · 07/05/2011 20:00

I'm supposed to be on a health kick too but I have wine and Dairy Milk Blush. I am definitely definitely starting tomorrow - and in going to finally start the shred!!!! I am, I promise! What? It's Saturday! Wink
