Hello! It's me. I thought I'd start a thread which is VERY cheeky for someone who's not been around for AGES! Grin

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
CantSleepWontSleep · 27/06/2011 22:35

Just bung him some cranberry juice and see how he goes for a day or two star.

Ds had a big fall today too. He was climbing up the slide on the playhouse (I tell them not to, but they ignore me) and managed to fall off the side of it when nearly at the top. Landed on a mixture of decking, large upturned plastic water table, nettles (chopped down yesterday, but either still stingy or one missed) and a bit of tyre bark. Very hurty, and lucky not to break anything or get concussion really. Gave him some nurofen in case things start to hurt in the night.

29 degrees in nursery tonight, but thank goodness we have air con upstairs!

HavePatience · 27/06/2011 22:44

Thanks csws. You all are saving my GP from unnecessary phone calls Grin

EnvyEnvyEnvyof the air con.
But happy that you can enjoy it. Is it in all rooms? If not will everyone be climbing into the air con room tonight? don't scream when you wake up and see me sleeping next to you Wink

CantSleepWontSleep · 27/06/2011 23:17

All the bedrooms yes Smile.

KSal · 28/06/2011 11:12

CSWS, that sounds nasty, assume it was D? At least your air con means he didn't have to deal with a hot night too. How is he this morning?

HavePatience · 28/06/2011 11:58

Somehow I missed the paragraph about D's fall in your post Blush sounds horrible, though Sad
I hope he's ok this morning.

CantSleepWontSleep · 28/06/2011 12:47

Yes was D! Although J tries to climb the slide too Hmm. He's started walking quite a bit in the last week too, just in time for his birthday on Sunday :).
D was fine this morning. When I asked him about his leg he said it hurt, but I don't think it would have even occurred to him if I hadn't asked.

HavePatience · 28/06/2011 13:58

Thunder! Smile
Glad D is ok today. Q down for his nap and I'm watching some show about the lottery and filling out some more paperwork for our house move. Oh and checking out MNGrin

Ekka · 28/06/2011 17:33

Ouch to bumps and bruises csws and star. I'm glad no real harm was done.

Sorry to hear about poorly dc, luckily mine seem healthy enough at the moment but ds seems to be full of wickedness right now . He is much worse than dd at this age!

No real thunderstorms here, though I did hear a bit of thunder - nothing much tho. I'm just glad it's cooled down from yesterday - that was truly horrible... It was Dd's first sports day today, we all froze watching. But the rain held off for the races and dd came first in her running race (only 1st out of 4 mind you, and the teachers had cleverly matched their ability) and her team came second in a relay race so she is thrilled Grin.

Dh came home early and has sent me to lie down - bless him... He had a knee op on Friday so has been stiff and sore but luckily is still pretty mobile (phew!).

Myjob I agree the weather was great for laundry!

ronshar · 01/07/2011 12:02

Where is everybody?

I saw Take that last night and I love Robbie even more now than I did before. Tired and emotional today. Grin

CSWS I hope D has recovered from his dare devil behaviour.

We are off on our hols on Sunday. A whole week in the sun. Yipee.

Hello everyone. (Waving)

pepperrabbit · 01/07/2011 18:39

waves enthusiastically to ronshar!
I'm here! in headless chicken mode at the mo as insanely busy at work, planning for op on monday (you should see The Lists..) and there is just sooo much going at school to cope with at the moment as well. Today was Sports Day...
I've prioritised though, in true MN style, and the list for sunday includes, cutting and doing my nails, dying my hair, sorting a selection of books/trashy magazines to read and telling DH to make me a cake Grin. He meanwhile has to pack up most of our lives into boxes for storage while the builders are in.
i've done all the paperwork this week, mortgage, life pols, all forms for school and cheques for lunches etc as i won't be able to WRITE! Bought cards and presents for the 7 parties scheduled for my first month in plaster, have to wrap them yet.
My head is full.

pepperrabbit · 01/07/2011 18:42

Oh, and v Envy of your hols! have a lovely time Smile

and v v Envy of Robbie.... everyone except for me seems to have tickets Angry and they've all had a fantastic time!

ronshar · 01/07/2011 22:26

Good luck with your Op on Monday. Do you have lists on post-it's round the kitchen? Thats what I would have to do! I dont envy you the builders. They make such a mess. All that dust gets into every nook & cranny around your house. It will be worth it in the end though.

I will try and catch up while away but not sure if we will have wireless. As I am old, I dont have an iphone. Working on DH getting one for me when we get one for DD1 when she goes to school in Sept. Which is getting scarily close now.

Sad myjob. I hope you're feeling better soon. Why only 4 hours? Which child is waking?
Off the top of my head have you tried simple brand suncream. And, do we have neutrogena here? That is usually good..
Does oilatum do a sunscreen? If so, that would prob be best.
Someone wiser will come along.
It's miniature railway weekend hereSmile yeah! First Sunday of every month.
Waiting.... Waiting..... For conveyancing to finish.... Ugh

Myjob you are so good to your dh. I think I'm more selfish Blush and go to bed early when I need sleep even if I haven't had time to properly talk with dh.

I was wondering - can your GP refer you to a dermatologist? S/he might have a suitable prescription?

Glad you had a good day Smile we did as well. Love love love miniature railway weekend Grin

Q has started expressing his "disappointment" when he can't do/have something he wants by making this weird unhappy sound and flailing his arms a few times. Today, he started throwing a toy with it. But we took the toy away and put it in a place to only return the next morning when this happened, so it only happened twice. Wink
Anyway, he did it whilst out today and I said, "Q, if you have another tantrum, we will not go on the trains". He said he was sorry and that he did want to go on the trains. I was Blush that he did this in public and quite firm (but gentle) with him about it not happening again. The lady behind me in the queue looked at me like Hmm and said "you call that a 'tantrum'? That's my boy on a good day!"
This made me even more Blush. I guess he is a pretty easy toddler, relatively speaking.

HavePatience · 03/07/2011 22:04

Pepper enjoy your peace under GA tomorrow Wink I hope it all goes well and that your planning is all done so you can rest tonight.

Ronshar have fun on your holiday! I hope it's relaxing for you.

Csws J's bday photos are so sweet. He's such a sweet mix of P and D! Love the scramblebug. We have a pink scuttlebug (handed down) and Q still loves to ride it around our house. I wish they could be extended a bit taller. He's nearly outgrown it.

Ekka how are you doing? I hope you've survived the heat.

Pistachio - enjoy that sweet baby wanting you close at all times Smile. I love your photos. It is amazing to watch children grow on fb. Will P be your last (definitely)?

Hello everyone else! CAKE where did you go? Grin

CantSleepWontSleep · 03/07/2011 22:06

I'm with the lady behind you in the queue!

myjob - I bet if you contact the manufacturers of suncreams that you are considering then they will be able to send you a sample to try.
Have you tried listing the ingredients of all of the ones that you've tried and have/haven't been ok with to see if you can narrow down which ingredient might be causing the problem?
I have always struggled with suncreams myself (always have to take huge supply on holidays with me as can't just buy any old make when there) and like neutrogena when I can get it, although I haven't needed much suncream for a few years, so don't know if it's changed at all.

CantSleepWontSleep · 03/07/2011 22:07

Cake did tell us she was going away star, although I think she might be back now.

HavePatience · 03/07/2011 22:14

Blush shows how well I listen!

Are all suncreams PABA free now? I know when I was little I got a rash if I didn't use a PABA -free suncream.

CakeandRoses · 04/07/2011 00:07

sorry i'm here, lurking away til i get a mo to read back and catch up Smile

had a wonderful holiday in sicily despite some crazy mishaps and issues the first few days (left a bag at the airport Shock Blush, dh then F had a sickness bug, A cut her lip badly, F broke an ornament at the villa, the front door lock broke at the villa etc etc - all of that was by the first morning!) after all of that it was great.

i'll post a link to some of the pics to the fb page if you fancy a look (the pics are all of july, sicily is from halfway down)

dh back to work tomo Sad so will try to catch up with what you've all been up to.

Purpleprickles · 04/07/2011 00:17

Hello all I am still around just sinking under the end of term jobs.

Ronshar have a fab holiday. I noticed on fb that we saw Take That the same night. They were fab and I've also fallen back in love with Robbie. I nearly cried when he came on, I was screaming like a teenager GrinBlush

CSWS lovely pics on fb. I hope J enjoyed his day.

Myjob have you tried Banana Boat suncream, it's supposed to be very mild.

Not much to report here. We've all had mild stomach bugs. My parents came to stay this weekend but we just spent a lot of time in the garden so I could finish reports. J has enjoyed all the attention from Nanny and Grandad though. He is so sweet and makes me laugh so much and of course sometimes Angry I can't wait to finish for summer and have 6 weeks with him. It just still feels so far away though Sad
