Hello! It's me. I thought I'd start a thread which is VERY cheeky for someone who's not been around for AGES! Grin

Myjob, Roc apparently do a good one tho it's pricey and hard to track down I think. Its the only one my mum can use and also recommended by our paediatrician (her daughter has the same issues N has it sounds like!)

I'm surviving the heat ok, though it helps now my car has it's air con fixed (after 3 months of it not working properly!!!). Honestly, we must have bought the car made on a Friday as no-one I know has had any trouble with the same make and model car we have Angry

CSWS - love the photos of J's birthday. Such adorable children!!!

Have a lovely holiday Ronshar - hope the weather is great and you have as relaxing a time as is possible with 3 kids!!! Glad Take That was fun...

Star, you should see dd when she has a tantrum. She screamed for 30 mins yesterday because her shoes weren't tight enough even though they were pulled as tight as possible Confused. We just ignored her as nothing can be done till she calms down enough to listen to us . Luckily we were just at home!

HavePatience · 04/07/2011 17:33

Ekka I can't imagine your little DD doing that! Shock
I'm keeping my image of little E as a tiny angel who can do no wrong in my mind. Grin

Csws I'm also Confused why you didn't need suncream for a few years. I am curious as whatever it is, I'd like to do it - it's so expensive!!

Myjob I cannot WAIT to be able to spend the day in our garden Grin I know it will get old soon enough, but so excited!
We spent most of today at the children's farm. Q spent 1.5 hours playing in the sand Shock
I will buy a sandbox for our new home!

Ekka · 05/07/2011 21:13

Grin at Star/HP!!!!! Bless her, she is usually not too bad, but when she does kick off - wow!
You must be really looking forward to having a garden - I'm finding it a godsend at the moment. The kids go out and play for hours there while I can sit in the sun and watch/join in when necessary!

So, we have suspicions dd may have scarlet fever Sad - got a text that there is a confirmed case at school and she's been under the weather for a couple of days, running a temp of over 100 this afternoon. We have a docs appt tomorrow morning.... I would expect that if she comes down with it ds will as well though....

HavePatience · 05/07/2011 21:28

Sad oh no, Ekka. I hope it's not too bad and that you don't get it as well.
I still remember her twirling my hair at one of our meet ups. Such a gorgeous little thing Smile

We have a garden now, with a tiny decking area where a little table and two chairs sit and some grassy room but it is small and surrounded by dwarf wooden fence and no gate, so Q can go straight out onto the cul de sac. He's really good and doesn't tend to run off, but it's not a place to relax while he plays iyswim. And there's not much room. We do blow bubbles in the garden and play chase from the imaginary troll but it isn't long before he wants to get on his bike and go for a walk. Our new house will have an enclosed back garden and a little more space to play.
Our current one is perfect for single person or a couple with no children.

Long day today. But so much fun to spend all of it with Q. I'm starting to really relax and get used to this. It will be a rude awakening when school starts again! Good thing they ease is in with some meetings /setting up classrooms for a couple of weeks beforehand, so I won't be totally suddenly ripped away.. Though will be sad when it's over Sad but I am so grateful to have this time.

Ekka · 06/07/2011 09:13

Luckily Star, I had it as a child so I should be immune (phew!). She was up and down a lot last night, but funnily enough I'm actually feeling more alert and awake today than I have the last two days, thanks to all the rain and the humidity lifting. Dd is actually ok as long as she is kept dosed up with ibuprofen/paracetamol though she's off her food.

It sounds great to have lots of time to spend with Q. How long are your holidays? Do you have a date for a move yet?

Pistachio your baby is sooooo cute. I want to pick her up for a cuddle every time I see a photo Grin
Myjob our new garden will be about the size of yours , maybe even a bit smaller but I think that's HUGE!! Grin

I'll bet! The photo at the library today - so scrummy!

Ekka · 09/07/2011 20:17

Pistachio - how are you finding things with three? P is absolutely gorgeous, no doubt about it! Tell me the honest truth though - how is it REALLY going?!?!? Trying to get myself prepared for it all, but I think I'm still in denial that I'll have three to look after soon. Funnily enough I found dd a total shock to the system and the first 3-6 months horribly hard, so I prepared myself to have an awful first year when ds was born, but I found it went ok really. So I'm now thinking that three will be just more of the same, and I don't want a nasty shock!

Oh, dd is much better now - we think it was a bad UTI, not scarlet fever as she has had no rash and she was weeing far more regularly than usual, so its probably that. She's had ABs so is much more like herself now - phew!!! Only 4 more school days till the end of term! Can't wait to have some time with them before baby arrives Grin

pepperrabbit · 10/07/2011 16:21

Ekka, I just read your post out loud to dh, as your description of DC1, then DC2 is EXACTLY what happened to us. First one = apocolyptic shock, second = walk in the park compared to our expectations. I was so prepared for a repeat of the nightmare culture shock of DS1 that anything had to be better - and it was.
Hmm, DC3, I have to say DD was certainly much more difficult than we expected/hoped. If I'm honest, nothing is as bad as number one, but no 3 was pretty close, as you're outnumbered. Simple as that. Get as much help as you can is my advice. The whole school thing - DS1 had started school the half term she was born and DS2 started preschool when she was 2 weeks old. The relentless deadlines that go with pick-up/drop off was my most challenging thing so if people offer to do that bit for you, bite their hands off! My lovely neighbour used to pick up DS1 on a monday, and walk him home, and it saved my sanity and means a sleeping baby can stay asleep sometimes.
However, many people have coped much much better than that (ronshar, CSWS & Pistachio!) but I was a bit blase about what it would be like and came unstuck.
First 12 months is the worst, and 3 is lovely Smile
Hope that's not too honest.
Did you go to the carnival?? We had a lovely time and spent far too much money on nasty food and fruit shoots healthy drinks.
All 3 absolutely loved it.

Csws - we may head to knebworth either wed, thurs or fri this week (whenever weather looks best in the morning).. Mon and tues it isn't open.
Or perhaps next Monday.
I can't wait! Grin
I'll let you know before we go.

HavePatience · 10/07/2011 21:08

Pistachio and pepper I have loved reading your stories Smile
Ekka - do you have anyone nearby to help out?

CantSleepWontSleep · 10/07/2011 22:14

star - can prob join you on thurs or fri (wouldn't normally be able to do a fri as d has playgroup, but it's their summer outing and I haven't committed to going as not sure I fancy it enough, and we have to go with them).

Honeymoonmummy · 11/07/2011 09:50

Hi all, sorry not been on for ages. I'm not doing too well at the mo, finding it hard to cope, I'm gonna start a new thread and don't want to type it twice on phone so will post link shortly. Hope you're all ok x

Honeymoonmummy · 11/07/2011 10:26

Here

I've not explained it very well, I'm just exhausted by the whole thing Sad

pepperrabbit · 11/07/2011 14:46

oh HMM, you poor thing, can you express so DH can give him a bedtime bottle while you do DDs bedtime routine?
All the other suggestions seem helpful, but thought you might need a over here Smile

KSal · 11/07/2011 16:01

Hi HMM, since having DS, Emma has become more clingy with DH. I know this is not the same and not as extreme, but I have found that if I can spend some time just me and her, we have a lovely time. But if its me her, DH and Orin, she will not leave DH alone, avoids me, only wants daddy etc.

I think maybe if you haven't already, try to get DH and P together more without you there (I mean an entirely different location rather a different room). Me and Em seem to get on much better when DH isn't there.

I really feel for you, you're having a really rough time at the mo, but it will get better as D gets more robust... Have you been onto any other support re supply? do you think its the growth spurt you were expecting? I found with O it was like he was on a permanent growth spurt... no supply problems just a very hungry boy. Now he's on solids he's still got a huge appetite, so may just be that. Not much help I know, but maybe someone can help with some techniques to get him to take more in one go IYSWIM?

HavePatience · 11/07/2011 20:28

No good advice here, HMM, just a (((hug)))
Sad
I hope this phase passes quickly for you.
Ksal Q is like Emma.... Loves spending time with me alone, but when dh is home or around, I'm Not so important anymore. I don't mind because I know he loves me and has great times with me... Etc. (and it gives me a break Wink ).

He's having major difficulty with poos again. I've tried so much with diet and you know me... He has a very healthy diet.... Something else is going on. Now, he won't go on the toilet at all. Only in his pants Sad he does all wees on the toilet and tells me when he needs one but poos.... Even if it's obvious he has one, he will hold it in if I bring him to the toilet??? He was doing them on toilet fine before Confused

Anyway, today it was getting ridiculous so I just said "just go ahead and do it in your pants" (at park) and he screamed and cried "it hurts! It hurts! My willy hurts! My bottom hurts! It huuuuuuurts! It stings!" oh god it was awful. Tears and red face Sad people were asking me "what happened?" thank goodness that it was out in the open that he did it and not in a closed bathroom stall or I would have had a lot of Hmm looks!!

I have a GP ringing me tomorrow morning. But any ideas.

Sorry, back to Q's poo again.

Honeymoonmummy · 11/07/2011 21:05

Pepper I'm useless at expressing, it takes about 30 mins to get 2 oz, as I've just posted on the thread I'm contemplating mixed feeding so DH can do evening feed. Thoughts please?

Ksal, that's exactly what poppys like, shes fine once alone with DH. They are going to have a morning out together on Friday.

I'm seeing the doc in the morning anyway.

Thanks for all the hugs Smile

Honeymoonmummy · 11/07/2011 21:08

Oh sorry star,no clue re q's poos. I do know that
UTIs in boys are rare tho, so the gp will probably do a hospital referral if it's that just to check everything ok (happened to my friends son last month, her DS was fine)
