Hello! It's me. I thought I'd start a thread which is VERY cheeky for someone who's not been around for AGES! Grin

Hi myjob.

I am on here really late. I shall regret it in the morning.Smile

ronshar · 25/06/2011 09:37

Yep I feel like crap this morning. I never learn.

HavePatience · 25/06/2011 20:42

Pistachio - I loved the fb description of your child band. Sounds like fun, but not for P! I hope she and you are sleeping ok. How is it going?

Ronshar Grin I know. I try to get to bed as early as possible!

Myjob I saw N on fb and she is looking so beautiful and grown up now! I can't believe how much she has grown. So is B! You all look very happy Smile

We haven't heard from cake in a while- how is everyone else as well?

Q is still telling us that "it hurts" and "maybe I need some medicine for it" every time he poos or tries to poo Confused despite lowering iron intake and increasing water intake.

Coconutfeet · 26/06/2011 20:25

Just bobbing in to say hello.

How's your throat myjob?

Pistachio - I saw your dsicssion on fb about the Guardian article on pregnant women in the US. I'd been discussing that with dp. Truely scary isn't it?

Star - I'm sure you've already done this, but have you tried him with chopped prunes or dried apricots to loosen him up? S eats loads of fruit but apricots seem to have a definite "loosening" effect that nothing else seems to.

I've become very dull recently. Sorry. All I seem to do it work and do the washing.

Coconutfeet · 26/06/2011 20:37

And Pistachio - I meant to say dp was in really impressed by the pics of your dc at the climbing wall. He's a lapsed climber but really wants to take S. Apparently you have to be 7 at our local one so he's got a while to wait. How young was T when he first went?

S had Mr Tumble, the nursery teddy bear for the weekend. He was really excited about bringing him home, then completely went off him saying that he wasn't his friend and that he didn't like him. The idea is that you take loads of pictures of your child and mr tumble so they can put them all in a book at the nursery, but S couldn't have been less interested. He threw him out of bed and every time I suggested anything they could do together for the photos he just said "he won't be able to do that, he's just a toy". I've had to engineer various photo opportunities, but more we don't lose face with the nursery. Confused

Oh my stupid phone just ate my post!
Gist:
Please remember that not all "Americans"(people from the US) agree with or support such atrocities.
Everyone I know (family and friends) are horrified by this. The US is a big place where laws can and do vary from state to state.
I am aware of the flaws - ahem, we are here. But I just don't want people thinking that sort of crap (like the Mississippi articles) represent me or anyone with whom I associate in the US in any way, shape or form.
This is why I always say I'm "nearly Canadian" (grew up an hour's drive from border into Quebec).
I was on the MN thread (If this is the same thing- I haven't seen your fb discussion yet Blush ).

Ugh that sounds awful Sad Q has a green snotty cold right now but at least he can tell me what's bothering him. So much harder with a newborn!

Every time Q goes for a wee today he's needed a wipe on his bum before he wees and it looks like he's done a poo and not been wiped iyswim Confused. And his underpants have a bit of poo on them, too. I don't understand! We've gone through several pair of underpants now. It even happened after he did a big poo! And I know he was wiped properly. He's not doing wees like usual either. He's forcing them out and they are not clear - even after loads to drink. He'll say "I need a wee! I need a wee!" and be desperate. Get to the toilet and.... Nothing Confused really strange. Ideas?
I know you are probably all sick of hearing about Q's bowel movements by nowBlush

CantSleepWontSleep · 27/06/2011 14:26

The wee thing sounds like he has a UTI star. Can you take a wee sample to the GP?

HavePatience · 27/06/2011 15:31

Sad I will try to get one. It takes ages for him to force one out.

HavePatience · 27/06/2011 16:55

He's just now done a proper big clear-ish weeConfused does that rule out UTI?

pepperrabbit · 27/06/2011 18:39

Can't really help on the UTI star, if it were me, and he's ok in himself and that wee seemed more normal, I'd just keep his fluids up and see how he is tomorrow.
DD has been miserable in this heat, she screamed ALL the way to school and back this afternoon, an impressive 35 minutes, didn't desist even when offered a choc ice at home. So i put her to bed - she slept for 1.5 hours! No idea what time she'll go to bed now. She refused her tea, and is now sitting smugly on the sofa with her dummy, as i gave in after another half hour of screaming after I got her up.
I practised making dinner with just my left hand.... pasta was fine Hmm the tuna/sweetcorn to go with it were slightly more tricky! I covered myself in tuna gunk trying to open and drain the tin - now, the cat will not leave my side - suspect eau de fish may be her favourite...

pepperrabbit · 27/06/2011 18:41

Bit excited about possibility of a thunderstorm. I love storms Grin

HavePatience · 27/06/2011 19:51

Pepper that sounds very tricky! Can dh make and freeze some meals?
Is DD unwell or just hot?
Q actually has a slight fever/raised temp and green snot flowing and a bad cough... So I don't know what is up with him or if the toilet stuff is linked or not. He took a huge fall with dh this eve as shoes were a bit big (his insistence choice to wear them!) an he cried for ages about his arm. We've given calprofen because we've never heard him cry so much like that about an injury. Seems to be working... I hope it's just a bruise.

HavePatience · 27/06/2011 19:51

I'm excited about T storm, too, pepper Grin but more for a nice breeze.

KSal · 27/06/2011 19:52

me too re the thunderstorm pepper.... I feel so manky from the heat I am planning to sit out in it...

Orin has an awful lot going on at the mo - he had a fever for about 5 days, followed closely by runny bum, and in the midst of it all has decided he no longer wants spoon feeding and seems to be getting some kind of separation anxiety (from me in particular). I find this baby phase of having to guess everything so tiring!! the spoon feeding thing is fine (Emma did the same, so i just moved her fully to finger food) but I spent most of the weekend fretting that he was off his food on top of everything else...

Star, I'm sorry Q has ongoing probs, poor little soul. Really can't help though, I don't have any ideas :(

its 28 degrees in Orin's room at the mo, got the fan going to see if that helps...

HavePatience · 27/06/2011 20:05

Oh poor baby Orin Sad
It is so hard to figure it out when they can't tell you. I hope he's on the mend soon. This heat can't be helpful.
