Hello! It's me. I thought I'd start a thread which is VERY cheeky for someone who's not been around for AGES! Grin

My natwest advantage gold current account doesn't earn interest on credit. Is there any current account that does?

HavePatience · 21/06/2011 19:50

Sorry I don't think I mean "credit"... Positive balance is what I mean

I will only have it for another month or so because then it goes to solicitors and then we are broke again! But I want to get some interest for the 5 weeks of my entire life that it's possible Grin

HavePatience · 21/06/2011 20:18

How is DD2 doing now, pistachio? Were R and T quarrelling a lot or just very active?

KSal · 21/06/2011 20:20

i have a disgusting story about poo.... Orin pooed while in his high chair at breakfast yesterday and it squirted out the side... nothing unusual there per se...

only DH told me after they had gone to bed in the evening (he does the mornings) then followed this up with... i really must clean that up.. HE HAD LEFT IT THERE ALL DAY scummer

we are the house of no sleep and Orin is off nursery with high temp... also lots of teething pain. we have been very shouty and are currently not talking :( DH is off to glastonbury tomorrow night... glastonbury is * welcome to him grrrr.

Hello- am drowning in paper work for home visits for Sept intake and reports. Roll on the holidays I'm too tired for all this. CF and HP I am on strike next week and HP no your dh does not have to strike even if his union is, he cannot be forced too.

I am Blush to say that J is still in his cot bed as a cot. This is because I'm not ready to do the 'get back into bed' twenty times a night yet. I will in the summer hols though. I've brought a bed guard and will put that on for a while. He naps on the sofa at home though and has only rolled off once though so hopefully he'll find staying on the bed easy too. If I ever let him try.

J has pooed in the bath quite a few times. Dh freaks out completely and I just scoop it out with my hand. Poo doesn't really bother me but sick does so dh deals with that.

I really wish I had something exciting to report but I don't. Ooh I did go on a cupcake decorating course on Sunday as a birthday present and am now dreaming of running a cake shop one day.

HavePatience · 21/06/2011 21:11

PP it's much more than 20 times.... Grin

I hope dc are at least sleeping well for you, pistachio!

Ksal ew to dh leaving it there all day. That's something my dh would do. But he probably wouldn't say "I must clean that up". Good that your dh thought to clean it even if it was late. I hope orin is feeling better soon.

Coconutfeet · 21/06/2011 21:30

Yeah, more like 50 times in our case. HOWEVER he didn't get up at all this evening, so maybe it was worth it.

KSal - It's horrible when you're both so knackered you just snipe at each other all the time, isn't it. I hope it passes for you soon. Yuk to the pooey highchair. Gross.

Pepper - I don't think our parents have been informed about the strike yet. Not quite sure why as the head knows who is and isn't striking and is fine with it. I agree that people need to know what's happening.

HavePatience · 21/06/2011 21:53

At dh's school they have informed parents that school is closed that day. Teachers can come in and do planning, marking and other work they need to get done if they don't strike but school closed to students.

HavePatience · 21/06/2011 21:54

Well done, cf! Smile S must have gotten the message quickly. Clever boy!

CantSleepWontSleep · 21/06/2011 22:35

Hold on a minute - all this talk of striking.... Is this something which might affect dd's school? I am clueless about anything Confused.

Yuk at all the poo talk.

No interest to be earned anywhere these days star.

um, can't remember what else I've read, sorry.

Oh yes, ronshar, if you decide that camping is ok then you can come and camp in my garden in the summer. I might even let you sleep in the playhouse if you are lucky.

CantSleepWontSleep · 21/06/2011 22:38

Ekka - how many weeks are you/when are you due?

And as for PITA children, ds veers between being lovely (a woman who was new to toddler group this morning actually commented on it) and being utterly vile and tantrummy and hitting and kicking me and biting his sister. Worse when tired, but not only governed by that.
This week it's the 5 year old who's driving me nuts.

pepperrabbit · 21/06/2011 23:02

pistachio - mine have been appalling all week (is it really only tuesday?).
Had to send DS2 to bed early again tonight for shooting me with a super soaker water pistol Angry i knew he was going to do it as well, he just couldn't help himself, I could see it in his eyes! Then he shrieked, threw it on the ground and ran away in a panic at the horror of his actions. I nearly Grin but had to force a Angry. And i was very wet.
The thing is, they sent him home from school for being droopy/poorly Hmm. It's The Law in our house, if you get sent home you go straight to bed, do not pass go, do not collect a biscuit, straight to bed. Cuts out the malingerers normally. This one is clearly tougher than the rest!

Ekka · 22/06/2011 06:26

CSWS, I'm due 10th August so I think I'm 33 weeks today... Nothing really wrong other than tiredness and having to get up several times in the night to wee. I'm just finding that each day seems several hours too long!!!

ronshar · 22/06/2011 12:21

OOhhh Ekka. Have your baby the day before then we will share a birthday.Grin

HavePatience · 22/06/2011 21:13

I know two women who are pg with their first and it is so amazing to me, still. I think it's such a miracle! But I do feel physically ill when they say things like "I haven't really thought about the birth yet" or "will I know when I have a contraction?" I am so, so excited that they are about to experience a love they have never known before.. The most overwhelmingly amazing love in the world. But...
I know this sounds silly but I'm actually scared for them re: the birth Blush. This doesn't happen with people who have had other children because they know what it's like and have usually had good experiences.
Even I say to them "it's really not that bad. It's the best experience in my life so far" of course I am referring to the part where I met Q... But I wouldn't ever tell them what it was really like. I feel so scared that I know what they are about to go through... And found myself praying for them a few days ago after talking to them... Praying that their births would go quickly and with as little pain as possible and that all they'd remember is meeting their baby and the amazing love.
I'm just rambling again. But I can't help feeling this way!
On the other hand, most people seem to get through it just fine. I hope they both have the best births possible.

CantSleepWontSleep · 22/06/2011 22:03

star - don't feel bad for them - I found birth exciting even the first time. It's rare to be quite as scared of it as you were/are.

Ekka - I wasn't thinking that you shouldn't be tired - was just interested :).

pepperrabbit · 22/06/2011 22:10

How's your evening going CSWS - any peace yet?

HavePatience · 22/06/2011 22:29

Smile true, csws. I hope they are excited!

On another note, I'm loving being home fir summer Grin. This eve after bedtime since I wasn't totally wiped out as usual, I've sorted two cupboards and loads of our personal/home/bank...etc paperwork. I did a toy clear out and have gotten rid of broken stuff and re-charity shopped some stuff, too. Feels good because I haven't had time to organise at home lately and now I'm FREE!! Grin
Poor dh still at his laptop working his way through to do lists for work and marking.
Of course I have curriculum work I need to do over the summer but I'll start that in another week or so and only in small bits in evenings.
Q and I had the best day, doing whatever we wanted!

CantSleepWontSleep · 22/06/2011 22:29

yy pepper. Good bedtime from ds2. It's when he wakes in the middle of the night and won't go back to sleep without being held constantly that the trouble starts. But he only kept going for 35 mins last night compared to about an hour and a quarter the night before. So fingers crossed for tonight.

HavePatience · 22/06/2011 22:29
Hmm for Hmm
CantSleepWontSleep · 22/06/2011 22:30

Oh it's weird to think of you being on summer hols already star. Quick, get to Knebworth to see the dinosaurs Wink.

HavePatience · 22/06/2011 22:31

Does he need you to stand and hold him? That used to drive me nuts when Q would do that at night. I have no advice but someone should invent something for that!
