Afternoon.

Been swimming with the penguins today.

Loti - hope they find out what is wrong with you.

Merlion please try and take it easy, I know easier said than done.

Being interrupted by a na ked monster demanding the pool. Back later

HippyHippopotamus · 12/01/2011 18:21

oh my dear goodness me. this is what i look like BlushBlush

parish priest just popped round to have a chat about P's bap tism. T had fallen asleep slumped on bean bag, P asleep in her pushchair and i was busy sewing mil's apron for her birthday. what i should have been doing was tidying the kitchen. he commented on 'it must have been a good christmas' and pointed to all T's toys Blush To be fair, he hasn't got many but we've had the bricks out today and there wasn't much carpet to be seen.i suppose i should be grateful that we were all clean and dressed at least! don't think we gave him the best impression but hey ho, i seemed to have answered his questions correctly because we're allowed to go on the bap tism course. but its crazy, dh and i both have to attend the whole course (2hrs a week in the evening) but P isn't allowed to come. not quite sure what to do because she still won't take a bottle. you'd think that babes in arms would be allowed to attend especially given what the course is Hmm I'm going to phone the office tomorrow to double check. i have a feeling he might be confusing my dcs. when he saw ds he made a comment about 'her being pretty' Hmm

sorry, i'm completely rambling here and its not even semi-interesting rambling!

TwilightSurfer · 12/01/2011 18:50

school's called off he until next TUESDAY.Confused

reading but little time to reply. guess why! i know exactly how velcro feels.Hmm

luckoftheirish · 12/01/2011 19:05

Oh my god TS must be a hell of alot of snow!!!massive hugs xxx

SilkStalkings · 12/01/2011 19:35

Hippy Sod em, turn up with her in a sling. Plus vicars love a chaotic family, makes them feel they're reaching out to those more in needGrin.

TS Why don't you just play Home Ed Mom? Will give you all something to focus on and then the girls can go home ed their toys when you want a break.

Aaaargh, our friend's band is supporting the feckin genius in London next Wed. That is one show I would LOVE to see but can't work out how logistically unless we could convince FIL or maybe BF to babysit sleepover. Plus one of us would probably have to drive us home from the stationHmm. Wish me luck.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 12/01/2011 20:19

Lucky glad you have been to the docs, and hopefully get an answer as to why you feel so rough! You have certainly had your fair share of illness.

HH I think it is crazy that P can't go, I had to go on a course every week for two hour with the vicar too! Only because I wasn't baptised, but ended up being baptised alOng with dd.

M- please take it easy, and congratulations 20 weeks! I really gave missed so much!

Crispy- so glad your dad is responding to the ab finally!
My dd also reminds me of my naughty little sister
It was my favourite book as a child, my big sister used to read it to me all the time.

BBBBS holiday sounds wonderful, I'm also hoping it's just the excitement of it all with dd1, fingers crossed all is back to normal when you get back.

Star- poor ds, but glad he is on the mend.
Well done to dh on the interviews.

Ts, hope you don't go stir crazy, by Tuesday, and hope the snow melts soon.

Bibi- I'll leave the wise words to others, but I'm thinking of you.

I can't remember who mentioned restless legs, was it Red? I get it a lot, usually when I'm very tired, I take it as my cue to go to bed! I had it a lot when living with dh, as I felt obliged to stay up late a lot with him as he worked shifts, it was my effort of making time to see each other even though I wad tired and just wanted to sleep!
Now I go to bed when I want.

MOwning about posting on iPhone again, as I can't remember who said what or what some of the new names are.
I thought that was great what M said on the train though.

Queen- what did dd weigh?
Glad she is doing well.
Oh I'm feeling broody again, hence more animals!

Cc hope your neck ache isn't too bad and the work is going ok.

So sorry if I missed anyone.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 12/01/2011 20:29

Crispy forgot to say yes dh still has Dcs. They stay over twice a week. They love going, and all is ok on that side so far!
He has been warned by police and solicitor re harrasment/ abuse through texts etc.. All good so far! Divorce still not sorted though.

Had a bit if a shock here as my poor wonderful sister has only been married 7 months and he walked out just after Xmas. Still no real exPlanation why?
LOts of things come to light regarding his past that none if us would ever have guessed! I'm furious that none of his family said anything. I fully appreciate you stand by your own family, but when children are involved I think it's disgraceful! Apparently he has had anger management counselling. Drink relayed issues! Attacked members of his own family, but they all thought he had turned a corner!
He pushed two of her Dcs flying other night when he came back to 'talk'

Sister devastated, understandably! Kids all upset/ confused! It's heartbreaking! If anyone deserved the happy ever after it was my sister.

SilkStalkings · 12/01/2011 20:41

Oh that's v sad No1 (former flower container here btwGrin). Guess it's best it's all come out sooner rather than later though, rather than simmering away and her thinking she was the crazy one.

My mum gave me a copy of her new book today, apparently it's in Amazon already! Costs a ridiculous amount though, dumbass publishersAngry.) Is a cozy contemporary murder set around Winchester with a few laughs thrown in and is naturally, ideal for Mother's Day giftsWink.

CrispyTheCrisp · 12/01/2011 21:24

Work report sent out, i phone contacts all re-entered and emails now working on it. I am a mobile worker extraordinaire Grin

no1 glad to hear things are ok for you and DH doing ok and the kids like it Smile. Sorry to hear about your sister, i remember when you were getting ready for her wedding Sad. Hope she and her DC's are ok

silks apparently there is only one left on ama zon - your selling skills must be fab!

Hipps Agreed, just turn up with P in a sling. What are they going to do? Turn you away? That would not be very christian, now would it? Wink

cece hope you have not collapsed on a desk somewhere?

pert PMSL @ DD, that is brilliant

LOTI did they say when you might get the results? I hope there are no more fainting incidents

I just remembered after reds DD2 comments, apparently when they were at my sister's she was chatting with DD1 and asked her if she had been to Pizza E xpress before (as they were eating a PE bake at home pizza). Apparently DD2 piped up out of the blue 'I go to Wag a mamas' and then tucked back in to pizza Grin

HippyHippopotamus · 12/01/2011 21:53

quote from the website...

The course is for both parents and as leaving young infants with others can be difficult, expectant parents are requested to complete the course prior to the birth of the child. Although this request might be considered harsh, it is important to realise that the majority of discussions take place between partners rather than a direct interaction with others.

even having read the above, i still don't get it Hmm

i'm really questioning things at the moment...apparently my marriage is 'invalid' because it wasn't in a cat holic chu rch...

PertyPru · 12/01/2011 22:04

Loving your little Lady who Lunches Crisp Grin And well done on another productive day!

Hippy I can totally see T as Charlie, that is so cute Smile Frankly your last post makes me pretty Angry on your behalf but I know there are those here who better understand the prejudices beliefs of religious institutions than I do, so I will bite my lip...

No1 so sorry to hear about your sister. Poor kids Sad

Red I like the sellotape/hedgehog answers Grin We do usually get 'and Stick Man and his Stick Lady love!'. Our other favourites here are 'you've got bare feet! Who else has bare feet?' (A: a bear) and telling daddy it's bean soup/stew for supper so he will say 'don't tell me what it's been, what is it now?!'

CrispyTheCrisp · 12/01/2011 22:04
Confused

P sleeps in sling, you and DH 'i n t e r a c t'. Not hard Confused

I am actually laughing, wondering how you and DH ever get to discuss anything if you have a child? Maybe all decisions should have been made and documented before birth? Wink

I will keep my lips zipped on your last line

CrispyTheCrisp · 12/01/2011 22:05
HippyHippopotamus · 12/01/2011 22:37

its ok, just thinking and typing at the same time! not expecting any of you hairy lot to know the answers Grin

i've started a thread on the religious bit on here to canvas a few views.

so, on a lighter note...

pru she's got such a great sense of humour!!

crisp after the Bear thread, i always smile when i see them in the shops now!

aStarWithHerOwnWays · 12/01/2011 23:05

Pert your DD sounds hilarious!

Crisp dear god woman, sit down and have a g&t immediately. Likewise hippy; I have nothing of value to add to any religion-based discussion, but I can praise your patience to the skies.

Hmm, think the nap might have to go, much as I love it. DS had a lovely 2 hour kip this lunchtime, but didn't go to sleep until about 9pm tonight Hmm He was very funny about it though Grin

DH is back, hurrah, and everything seemed to go v well. Everyone he saw today has asked him back for a second interview. One of them even asked him to come back at the end of today, they were that keen.

Just got to wait and see now but he is so full of positive energy and so proud of how today has gone :)

CrispyTheCrisp · 12/01/2011 23:08

Hurrah Star. DH can henceforthe be legitimately known as MrStar Grin. I really really hope this is the start of something fab for him. And you. And your family Smile

CrispyTheCrisp · 12/01/2011 23:09

Off to bedski now. Would have loved a G&T but those Hot Mamas are being evil hard taskmasters Sad

Grin
SilkStalkings · 12/01/2011 23:41

Ooh just had a lovely jam with DH over some beers, haven't done that for ages. Lovely talking about songwriting with him, whole new avenue of discussion between us, hope we don't leave it too long again before the next one.

Definitely bedtime.

HippyHippopotamus · 12/01/2011 23:55

yay for Mr Star!!! brill news SmileSmile

and a yay for mr and mrs silk too SmileSmile

ps bibi, thinking of you my sweet

TwilightSurfer · 13/01/2011 03:51

Hippister if you're marriage is invalid having been married in a zoo then I suppose my getting married in a gambling hall is .Hmm Oh well, I'll just continue to live in sin.Grin

Super Star! That's great news for Your Main Squeeze.

Oh crap now I'm going to have Squeeze tunes in my head.Hmm

to everyone I've not called out personally.

I've just finished my last e Bay of the day. We shall have no more snow because I've purchased four riding snow contraptions and bid&won five pairs of ski bibs for the girls. Mur pheys Law!

New stroller stuck in transit due to snow storm. Sad Will report immediately when it arrives.

Night!

CaptainCaveman · 13/01/2011 11:26

morning, I'm just avoiding study popping on to say Hi Grin
Nothing to report, brain is empty of any fun knowledge atm Wink. Ooh yes, I have got my date for ster ilisation, 8th feb. such a horrid word I think Hmm but it gets me an extra week at home to study!!

UrsulaUndress · 13/01/2011 12:05

Hi everyone. All coughs and throats and sickness here atm, ds1 off school, etc. What a winter, honestly.

Star, really delighted to hear things are looking good for your dh.

Loti hope you have a solid day today, no collapsing, eating well & not doing too much.

Cap'n do you get a week off for recuperation do you mean?

Look I know I am not the most prolific poster in the last month or so but would anyone back me in raising the idea of the disappearing Chat thread? I know we voted not, last time it was raised, but we had a whole referendum on the Lisbon treaty here and when the vote was no we just voted again till we got a yes. And I know our country is being held up as a model of how to do things atm...

aStarWithHerOwnWays · 13/01/2011 12:37

I don't care either way. Can't see why anyone is bothered about the prospect of a stranger reading our everyday chat, but equally don't feel we're sharing anything of historical significance that we might miss in a few years' time if it's disappeared.

In a friendly way, obviously. I have a headache and no patience today, and DS is being a tad overexcited and challenging, so don't read anything into my grumpy tone.

luckoftheirish · 13/01/2011 12:49

i don't mind either way..

Sorry to hear of poorliness at chez urs hope everyone recovers soon [hugs]

star hope the headache goes quickly and ds calms down a little for u! [hugs]

well my two are full of cold too.. dd1 at school but dd2 sneezing all over me.. lovely!! her favourite new expressions are "don't touch" Hmm" and when i ask if she is a baby or a little girl, she screams "little girl" at the top of her office.. no more babies in my house SadGrin

cleaner let me down today so have cleaned {with the help of dd2} the house from top to bottom including all beds.. pooped and still fainting... bloods hope to be back tomorrow so fingers crossed will get something sorted then!!

luckoftheirish · 13/01/2011 12:50

office Hmm should say her voice.. pls forgive me!!
