Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
HippyHippopotamus · 17/01/2011 10:29

loti no no no....please go back and see someone else. do as cc said, make a note of all the times it has happened (your posts on here will help). You must not leave it another week. fainting is dangerous... phone docs back now.... please

HippyHippopotamus · 17/01/2011 10:31

hi cc, sorry...give me a minute to climb off my soap box!

yay to your 10yr anniversary Smile

Merlion · 17/01/2011 10:32

Loti I agree please go get a 2nd opinion. Marmite good for B12 if you are one of the ones who likes it!

CC thanks for sharing and congrats for the anniversary of starting to get better. Silks that is (I know you may not see it as it now) a positive in that she has actually spoken about it. I too suffered from an e ating d isorder when I was younger (when I was in my teens). It took my teacher and my dance teacher to speak to my Mum as I was very good at hiding it. Hope that you get some advice from Crispy's links and other parents in the know on here. Have the docs ever given DD anything for the constipation?

Salta you are very perceptive! Yes I am worried about the scan mainly because of the stress/weight loss. Above all said and done I can't seem to lose weight when I'm not pregnant! I suppose I should stop worrying and just wait and see what tomorrow brings.

HippyHippopotamus · 17/01/2011 10:52

merlion i was far more worried during pg2. i agree, try not to worry but i know its easier said than done. what time is your scan?

HippyHippopotamus · 17/01/2011 10:57

oh and if anyone needs cheering up it may make you smile to know that i thought it would be a good idea to cut my own hair this morning ShockGrin And no, i'm not posting photos!!

HippyHippopotamus · 17/01/2011 10:58

what's the saying about cutting the legs off a table?!!

luckoftheirish · 17/01/2011 11:02

lol hip am sure it is perfick!

I was alot more worried second time around merlion , fingers crossed for a good scan tom..

well done cece on your 10 year anniversary, very brave lady...

not sure what to do, completely hacked off.. and going to do what cece said and make a note of when i do faint and try and eat regularly to see if that makes a difference..

apparently one of my bloods was out and was asked if i drink much alcohol.. lol at her, i have the odd glass of wine but as u all know with dcs i have neither the time or the inclination! Smile.. oh liver function was fine Smile

CaptainCaveman · 17/01/2011 12:18

lol loti remind me never to get my bloods tested re alcohol Blush. If you're keeping a diary, it might be an idea to keep a food diary too, just to see when/how much you're eating. I know people who go all day forgetting to eat coz they're just too busy (not me though!) - you might surprise yourself?

merlion your welcome, and thank you too for sharing Smile I feel very comfortable disclosing in this environment, and I am v proud of what I've achieved - I hope you are too? Smile

hippy go on go on go on go on, give us a photo!

the dissertation writing continues (I'm on a lunch break) Grin

CaptainCaveman · 17/01/2011 12:19

merlion that's you're welcome, not your welcome....Blush

CaptainCaveman · 17/01/2011 12:21

loti did they check your blood pressure?

luckoftheirish · 17/01/2011 12:26

they checked nothing today! last week they checked it and it was low but i have low blood pressure anyway so it was nothing new there..

got a diary out and i am going to log my food/fainting and try and get some evidence so that they will sort me out!!

looked up b12 deficiency and its a form of aneamia [sp] but my blood count was really good Hmm which is is impressive being a veggie an all Grin..

lunch break allowed cece Smile

CaptainCaveman · 17/01/2011 12:32

I was just wondering if you get postural hypotension - when your bp is low but gets lower temporarily when you stand suddenly after sitting or lying down? Usally you might just feel dizzy with this though (although salta as our resident doc can probably tell us more about this?) Hmm, ignore my cack-advice and carry on with fainting and food diary!!

luckoftheirish · 17/01/2011 12:37

thanks cece any advice really appreciated Grin

CrispyTheCrisp · 17/01/2011 13:10

LOTI that is unbelievable Shock. You should have a practice manager who you can go to a) to lodge a complaint that this doctor is not taking you seriously and implying you are faking it and b) sort you out with an appointment to get properly checked over. I am SO Angry on your behalf, and i know you are tired and fed up of it all, but you have to challenge the system.

hips you can't just post that and say no pics. UABVVU Grin

Well done on your 10 years cece, a brilliant achievement. You too Merlion for conquering it Smile

silks i have fb'd my friend on here with a daughter with similar issues (but is under a paed so may have some helpful ideas) - hope that is ok?

TS i hope you get a quieter day today

QoD does DP go back to work Thurs? Could MIL come over, or have S at hers for a bit?

TwilightSurfer · 17/01/2011 13:11

B12 is a wonderful shot. I felt like I was on cloud nine. It is very useful when recovering from an illness.

Blood pressure drops are notorious for fainting spells. Sometimes you see folks pass out in yoga class for that very reason. Low blood pressure can be helped with more water intake but that's not a cure and I am not a professional.Shock

As for the anti-sickness pills, THOSE can make one feel weak so unless you are barfing uncontrollably I'd toss those in the bin.

Morning! DD1 ended up sleeping on the floor beside our bed. Her emotions are all over the place. Much of it is I believe is just drama. She's happy a lark this morning. Hmm

CaptainCaveman · 17/01/2011 13:26

loti I agree with crispy about going to the practice manager for those reasons. Will you do that? And TS is right, drinking more water can help improve fainting spells Grin. Clever old TS.

Why does the day pass so slowly when doing academic work Hmm?

luckoftheirish · 17/01/2011 13:37

I am taking in 1.5litres of aqua a day on top of my tea drinking Smile

thank you all for believing me.. I could have gone to another doc this am but she specifically told me to go back to her... Also got seen by a student doctor who was alot more sympathetic imo.

TS not bothering with the anti sickness unless I feel really queasy which is not the problem...

The practise manager is pretty horrible too Hmm

glad dd1 slept better TS

watcha crispy Smile

CaptainCaveman · 17/01/2011 14:25

Change practices? Got to be something better locally than the pile of cack you seem to have?

On an interesting note, there are 2 foxes shagging in my garden at the moment. What I don't understand, is why they are tail to tail? They seem to be having fun, they've been like that for 15 minutes Grin

CaptainCaveman · 17/01/2011 14:28

Is it true they have barbed penises? Confused and Shock

UrsulaUndress · 17/01/2011 14:41

What?? Shock to CC's anatomically ouchy foxes...

Silks I hope between your own chat with dh, red's sensible interim suggestions and Crisp's mum-mate in similar circs and professional opinion from neighbour, you will be able to make good headway with dd. Makes me so angry that society corners girls and fills them with negative feelings about themselves. Salta's representation of her reasoning (can't get rid of it one way, ought to get rid of it another way) sounds plausible, layered on a generally anxious nature and awareness of existing loo problem.

Your positive parenting & feisty role modelling will be all to the good here. My money's on you.

UrsulaUndress · 17/01/2011 14:45

lots I'm disgusted with your doctor too and it's appalling that she suggested you were putting it on. Even if you were putting it on, wouldn't that in itself require some sort of further investigation? To faint about ten times in a week - wouldn't that be about the size of it? - is pretty serious even if it does turn out to be a vitamin deficiency or something easily remedied. If I were your doctor I'd be advising you to get someone else to be in sole charge of your children if dh can't be at home. I can't even trust myself to look after the boys when I have a migraine. And that's not keeling over.

CaptainCaveman · 17/01/2011 17:03

So, just in case you were interested in my exhibitionist foxes, i found this:

During the breeding season males can experience a six-fold increase in testis size Shock! and like other dogs, cats, hedgehogs, bats, rodents and many other species foxes have a bony structure in the penis called a baculum. The baculum is a heterotrophic skeletal element in other words, it is dissociated from the rest of the skeleton that serves to maintain an erection during intercourse. As tissue surrounding the baculum engorges with blood, the mating pair may become locked (or tied) together for between two minutes and more than an hour. Might explain why they were at it for 25 minutes [winnk] Grin

Study over for today and feedback from tutor is positive Grin. red are you ready for a read?

CaptainCaveman · 17/01/2011 17:04

I have no idea why loads of that was struck out? Hmm

HippyHippopotamus · 17/01/2011 18:34

oh dear goodness cc, you really are desperate for things to distract you!!!

SilkStalkings · 17/01/2011 19:13

CC It also hurts on the way out apparently, causing the female to contract her muscles in horror for maximum erm, can't think of a word... juice extraction?Grin

Thanks for all your support guys. I am taking DD into town for some quality girl time this Saturday, not to discuss anything, just to hang out, museum and teashop styleSmile.

I have now heard DS2 say thank you on 2 separate occasions, once to his sister, once to his brother. Must have picked that up from the CM as I have taught my kids no manners whatsoeverBlush. He has his S&L assessment in 2wks hurrah, I am sure he will catch up now but I just want to be told that by an expert.
