pru great news on your scan, and bonus at scoring an extra week Wink nice one.

loti I think we may have to come and sit on you to get you to keep still. Does dh know how often you've fainted?

CrispyTheCrisp · 15/01/2011 17:09

SmileSmileSmile

Hurrah, well done MonsieurUndress. DH says not before time Grin. We do need news of the proposal, although if you would prefer not to reveal all on here, we have our private place ready and waiting!

LOTI Have you bought that spatone yet? And please do stop running around, something nasty really really could happen Sad

We have been to look at some rescue cats today. None which were great atm but a very nice lady is keeping a look out for a perfect match for us Smile. Very Sad that she said it shouldn't be long though

luckoftheirish · 15/01/2011 17:11

phew.. dancing and play date completed.. DH brought home supper for the girls and prepared it Smile

crisp going to docs on monday {hopefully} so will take whatever she recommends Smile

aStarWithHerOwnWays · 15/01/2011 17:39

Aw Crisp lovely that you're getting a rescue cat. They're the best kind :) My two were rescue kitties, born on a building site; the builders, bless their soft little hearts, made them a shelter until the CPL could come and collect mum and babies.

Of course they are fat lazy moggies now who do nothing but eat, sleep and shed hair all over everything we own Hmm but they're still cute, and very patient with J.

PertyPru or indeed anyone who's moved house with small DC in tow, any tips for me on minimising stress to J? Any way I can get him involved in packing etc. without him undoing all our hard work? Or should I just suck it up in the short term and accept that he'll be stressed?

HippyHippopotamus · 15/01/2011 19:56

DS in bed without eating anything for dinner :( think we'd better get the monster sized cereal bowl ready for him tomorrow morning!

i miss my cat and would love to get another but dh is putting his foot down

UrsulaUndress · 15/01/2011 20:25

Aw thanks for all the congratulations, how nice you all are. Yes he did propose in the old style, and whipped out a sparkler. It was just before Christmas (we went for an unscheduled night away during our bad snow) so once we were alone and getting stuck into the champers he'd very thoughtfully had provided in the room, it happened. Our memories of exactly how, after that point, don't match, but clearly mine is correct Grin. So we polished off the champagne and went off and had dinner etc and plenty of wine and laughed. Unfortunately his father has been in hospital for the last three weeks - since just before Xmas - so we've been a bit low key about the whole thing.

MrCrisp: was pretty much exactly what ds1 said!

HippyHippopotamus · 15/01/2011 21:39

ah, that's so sweet of ds1 Smile

RedLentil · 16/01/2011 00:18

Ah, how lovely. Smile I love engagement stories. Ours involves DH being bitten on the leg by a passing dog. Grin

So delighted DS1 is happy too. Smile

Merlion · 16/01/2011 05:32

Ursula what fabulous news! When do you think you'll get married?

Star great news for MrStar. Red I must be following you or something first Coventry now Colliers Wood (we still have our house there) which is where we were living before coming to Singapore. Star I have a few friends who have given birth at St George's there.

CrispyTheCrisp · 16/01/2011 07:25

HippyHippopotamus · 16/01/2011 07:41

luckoftheirish · 16/01/2011 07:56

YES PLEASE!!! shattered and only me and dd2 up and about.. hoping for a v quiet day today.. we shall see HmmSmile

CrispyTheCrisp · 16/01/2011 07:58

How did he manage to wangle that hipps? Can you send T up to go and wake him?

DH offered to let me have a second lie in but as i have been awake since 6.15 i felt it was rather pointless Hmm.

DD1 watching Madagascar and DD2 reading Stephen F ry's book Grin

CrispyTheCrisp · 16/01/2011 07:59

oh hi LOTI Smile is MrLots around today?

luckoftheirish · 16/01/2011 08:27

morning crisp Smile

yes he is here all day and its family day!!! which means jammies day!! big roast for lunch and lots of kiddies tv BlushGrin

HippyHippopotamus · 16/01/2011 08:30

morning loti, how are you feeling this morning?

crisp, sorry but i can't be arsed to explain! he knows he's being unreasonable, he knows i'm angry and disappointed in him (and we all know this is worse than being angry Wink). He's got P up there with him so she'll wake him up sooner or later! Although i thought that yesterday too and they both ended up having a 4hr lie in!

6.15? pah! i've been awake since 5 Hmm T was having bad dreams and by the time I'd settled him, P woke up for milk, got her back to sleep and T was awake for the day!

T's happily playing with his bricks so its quite relaxing..i'd still rather be asleep in bed though!

HippyHippopotamus · 16/01/2011 08:31

i like the idea of your family day loti Smile

luckoftheirish · 16/01/2011 08:40

hip i would go back upstairs and bang doors whatever to get him awake Angry.. that said dh is still in bed but will be woken in a mo.. i find that if i let him have a bit of a lie in he is so much chirpier and happier for the day and alot more helpful Smile..

still rubbish and fainted again this am [sigh] but docs tomorrow so will get something sorted [hopefully] Hmm

saltasaltasanta · 16/01/2011 09:18

DS hogging our bed (without a nappy as in o ur sleep induced haze we thought it was morning when he woke at 3am so he got his nappy taken off. He also had a wee, so I hope that all is OK).

DH asleep in DS's bed I hope. He usually gets up in the morning.

DD playing in the living room since 5.45am.

I think that this sleep lark must be something to do with how I parent as she went down at 8.30, woke once to feed at 1.15 and is now awake. But as a baby she was such a good sleeper.

Some of the problem is that they almost always wake each other up.

Another bit of the problem is that I've never been very good at getting them to go to sleep on their own in their own beds.

Maybe think about sorting this a bit in England when we go on holiday hurrah and are all a bit more relaxed.

DH's work still really uncertain and

But, DH and his parents took the kids out all afternoon yesterday, and will all afternoon today so I can have some non-middle of the night time to work. Hoe cool.

HippyHippopotamus · 16/01/2011 09:41

loti exactly, if i let him sleep now, he'll be in a better mood when he does get up. P's awake now but didn't manage to wake him!

make sure you tell docs how much you've been fainting. and don't leave until you get a sensible solution from him/her

salta yay to you getting some childfree time Smile
sorry, no advice re sleep
