one of you has really made me smile... i decided to buy something for my SS because thought it would be too obvious if i sewed something but i've been commissioned to make a SS present on behalf of someone else Smile

blueberryboybait · 30/11/2010 21:38

Silkstalkings · 30/11/2010 22:20

Cece Great news, fingers crossed for you.

Salta We were at an Xmas party yesterday and K was playing with a silver bauble. A younger little girl was desperate for it and kept saying 'share share share.' Made me laugh, you're talking to the wrong child there Missy!Grin Although he did label all the pictures on some cubes for me so it is hard to tell if he atcually pretends not to understand a lot of things.

Well, I've had a funny evening here. I wrote a song for DH in the car, recorded it on the laptop sound recorder (kids had a v late tea!Blush), emailed it to my composer BF and she wants to develop it for her a capella quartet to perform next year!Shock Even DH loves itShock and it's so not his thing (it's kind of a 40s/50s jazz belter, Ella Fitzgerald meets White Christmas.) Will let you guys have first peek when it's got some more vocal parts. V chuffed with myself, it kind of wrote itself (will therefore turn out to be utterly plagiarised LOL.)

CrispyTheCrisp · 30/11/2010 22:22

Well done on the composing silks, sounds great Smile. I sent you a text earlier re the printer btw......

Posting by the 15th it is Smile

BibiBelle · 30/11/2010 22:23

FjorgynAndHotWater · 01/12/2010 06:46

Breathe TS, breathe, there's plenty of time!

star ouch for J, hope he is OK (and you are). It' a good job our babies are made of rubber...

cece I am v pleased that your DH's hearing wasn't a complete stitch-up; fingers crossed they get to the truth ad he's exonerated, plus gets a massive bonus as compensaion for hurt feelings Grin

Am waiting for my train to leave Doncaster which it should have done nearly 20 minutes ago. Waiting for a train is much nicer on the laptop with a cup of tea. Absolutely shed loads more snow (well another inch or two last night but that is LOADS for Wakey) so not risking my newly mended car on slippy roads today

FjorgynAndHotWater · 01/12/2010 06:56

Hurrah, it's set off, only 25 minutes late, I can go to work after all. Why am I hurrahing??? Confused

blueberryboybait · 01/12/2010 07:30

Morning all

Fjorgyn - I hope it make it all the way in one journey and not lots of stops on the way.

Silk - his pal is a chicken inside a duck inside a turkey with various layers of stuffing inbetween he also had a gammon pal.

OP posts:
FjorgynAndHotWater · 01/12/2010 08:43

Made it with not too much bother, although can't feel my toes. My dishy colleague (my boss as from today, eek!) was on the M1 at 6 and had to turn back as it wasn't even gritted Shock

Mmmmm to your turkey's pal bbbb, they sell those in asdas too Wink

CrispyTheCrisp · 01/12/2010 08:46

Hope you get to work Fjorn......and home again! The East coast has had a right dumping by the sound of it. I am off soon to slide to the gym & swimming and then a friends for lunch. We really should have gritted the end of the drive Hmm

PMSL @ TS. Xmas cards 0%, presents bought 20%, arrangements for visiting people at xmas 25% sorted. I am in zen calm denial about it all.....

CrispyTheCrisp · 01/12/2010 08:47

Very poor show from your new boss Fjorn. I really think you should give him a dressing down Wink

FjorgynAndHotWater · 01/12/2010 08:51

I remember as a child that one of our mum's friends used to send her cards on 1st December and we thought she was weird because that was soooo early. This year DD got a card on 29 November form one of her friends Hmm. We need to stop stressing, it's only Christmas Smile

Crispy I like your suggestion Wink[bad wife]Blush

enyahadenough · 01/12/2010 09:01

cece so pleased things went well for dh

FjorgynAndHotWater · 01/12/2010 09:28

Fuck me it's chucking down with snow now. Might have to finish at lunchtime if this carries on not that I do much work anyway Blush

Enya it must be disappointing for your DD to not get much/any snow (but not my DD who is such a wuss she doesn't like being cold) but much better for grownups [old gimmer]

Right, time for more coffee and then maybe some actual work Hmm

Silkstalkings · 01/12/2010 09:41

Good show Enya's DH, so nice to hear evidence of him seeing you as a real life person at last. Have you looked into any more evening courses etc for the new year? Doesn't have to be goal-oriented, anything that looks vaguely interesting to you. Important thing is to get you out and about and be marked on the calendar as sacred as his outings and also having something to talk about that isn't home-related.

Hate Wednesdays, it's always a comedown from work and my mum, sis and BF are always out. Really need to get some more friends! Or do some housework. Christmas is coming along nicely here, 80% pr

esents done I think. We don't do Christmas cards for longlost ecowarrior reasons, cept for old folks with no email obviously. Really must finish the tree decorations I started in January! But have been knitting little red bells as a handbag project, will string them up instead of tinsel this year.

Have decided to farm out most of the shiny crap and just keep some for the kids' 3' tree in the kitchen.
