Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Uncross those fingers bibi WinkGrin

TwilightSurfer · 17/11/2010 23:27

I love that I fit in so very well with the group. I swore out loud and at length today after paying a bill late. I keyed it into my register as due the 17th and it was due the 14th. 7 is just above 4 on the keypad.Hmm It's not a broken or scratch or dented something but it sure as hell made me madder than a hornet. I think I used one of Hipster's swear words configurations actually. DH was like, "that happens."Biscuit WELL NO IT DOESN'T!!!Angry Now it's a sore spot with me when I look at my register. I have had to quickly go and recheck everything for the next two months to be sure dates are properly documented!

Bibi, I would have SCREAMED in the fire alarm went off when I whizzed into the grocery store this evening. They'd have had to pull me out of the flames because I was in a rush with two whining kids.

DH out of town for two nights. Anyone want to take bets that DD2 will wake with the CROUP around 2AM? I spoke to her preschool teacher today and apparently 5 of the 10 kids in her class were out with this, whatever it is, on Monday. Today most were back with their snottiness. Confused

My project management gig went well apart from the fact we didn't have everyone or everything we needed to make serious head way. Oh and one guy doesn't like or maybe just doesn't get I've been brought in to manage the project. When I asked him to email me all the items he wants to be responsible for with a list of the other individuals he wants to bring in the loop for other things, he said he would email that to "the director" later. Hmm It's the director who is trying to get out of the loop so she can direct the school!!!!! GRRRRRR!!!! I just smiled and said, "wonderful." Men don't appreciate women with construction experience. I know this as fact! I now have to prove myself AGAIN. HERE ME ROAR!!!!!

Who asked about role playing? I do that all the time. As you may have figured out I am a secret agent a lot.Wink

Ursula, I gathered that from the tabloids too. I think they make a very nice couple. I like that they seem to be friends who have coupled rather than two strangers united to procreate for the country. I'm still quite sore about how Prince C treated Princess D with his long standing affair.

I do have things I should be doing other than gossiping here. LOL!

TwilightSurfer · 17/11/2010 23:31

lol! HEAR not HERE

enyahadenough · 18/11/2010 07:26

morning Smile

these 5.30am wake ups are starting to wear a bit thin [sigh]...

hope you had a good night sleep ts and dd2 on the mend... likewise for u bbbb.. v impressed with all your baking..

trying to get this house in order today tho with dd2 helping i don't feel it will be v productive HmmGrin

UrsulaUndress · 18/11/2010 07:36

Lentil I know how you feel Sad I'm not bothered by stuffing getting wrecked via ordinary wear and tear but when something is new and the result of 6 months of work... Oh God, I'd be biting on a wooden spoon. It's probably little comfort but in ten years' time you'll all be merrily saying at Christmas dinner oh do you remember when that hob was new and Dad knobbled it with the jamjar, and dd2 who will be 12 will say oh that's where that chip came from. Till that fictional cheerful day can you get online and see if there are any discussions / help sites for the brand? Highly likely it's happened to someone else and there are cunning ways of disguising it? That stuff sugru is meant to be magic though, I was just flicking through this week's Time with my coffee and it's in the http://www.time.com/time/specials/packages/0,28757,2029497,00.html top 50 inventions this year.

UrsulaUndress · 18/11/2010 07:53

Sorry ,2029497,00.html top 50 inventions

It's Irish, perhaps we can keep the IMF at bay if we all buy a little bit more of it.

Bibi that must feel a bit weird re. the cafe manager but rather satisfying to know you are running your own gig now?

UrsulaUndress · 18/11/2010 08:05

Who among you still cares

top 50 inventions

HippyHippopotamus · 18/11/2010 08:31

lol ursula, i can passionately about the top 50 inventions Grin thanks ever so much for the link finally

red don't blame you for being angry. exactly what my dh would do albeit accidentally but it being an accident doesn't make the damage disappear

enya how are you feeling this morning? is it the orders in your ears that are making them hurt? Wink seriously, hope you're feeling better. we're still house of lurgi here Hmm 2 weeks tomorrow since it started!

ts one of Hipster's swear words configurations really? but i never swear! intrigued what one you picked Grin

bbbbbbwow to all those cakes! they sound amazing! hope dd2 better

right, can i have cunning ideas please for what food/provisions i need to take with us to wales. we're being force fed by dh's family so we only need snacky things. but we do need something because hotel miles from nowhere

dh managed to forget his wallet and phone today!

i drew ds a village this morning complete with houses for his men, car parks, ice grass (frosty grass), and a helipad. he's currently drawing all over it and hasn't driven a single car on any of the carefully drawn roads. oh well. i was pleased with it!

oh, DD was lying on her quilt, watching ds wrecking his village, just looked up and she's fast asleep in a star fish configuration! i think she's enjoying the space, her moses basket is getting a bit tight Blush

sorry to everyone i've missed

oh and good mornin!

blueberryboybait · 18/11/2010 08:47

Morning!

Cakes all done and packed, I can't remember when last I did a big ish order with less than 24 hours notice - Bibi I am in awe that you do this day in and day out.

Hippy - Tea? Coffee?

Ursula - DH walk behind me as you final link popped open, he thought I was being all intellectual this morning.

OP posts:
HippyHippopotamus · 18/11/2010 08:50

tea please Smile
thank you

BibiBelle · 18/11/2010 09:09

Bbbb, baking starts in earnest for meager, I've a busy wkend & on shift from Fri too

inservice days here today & tomorrow so of course dh had to work nightshift last night, ruining our family day, and it's lashing down. Frightened to go in shower in case I miss GP!

Hips, TS probably meant my swearing, am a bit of a foul mouthed trooper Blush

sorry to hear of lurgy all round

Ursula, am not sure how I feel about it tbh. Past caring? They seem V pleased with themselves re successful candidate and as I predicted she has many yes running cafe etc etc. Still convinced it would have been waste of my time. Have been asked to attend meeting where they all want to air grievances re Chair. All a little too late IMO.

Lovely lot re kind bunk bed hunting offers. No more than £300-350 Inc delivery. Preferably White. Stairs must be left. Would like ability to split into single beds. No higher than 160 as we've low ceilings. Not a 6 month waiting list either!! Prefer ability to add trundle/drawers under but not essential right at this second.

I don't ask much do I?!?

enyahadenough · 18/11/2010 09:21

ok panic stations here.. h told me this am that he is taking me away for the weekend ShockShockShock... sorted everything.. however dd1 has woken up again this am with a poorly ear and throat Hmm..not sure if she is pulling my leg so i am taking her to the docs again in a bit and hopefully off to school...

have a million and one things to do now..

will see if i can source u a bunk bed bibi Smile..

hip ears still wrecked but not thinking about it Smile.. hope the lurgy leaves your house soon..

urs.. worrying times in our dear land.. getting a running commentary from my accountant dad tho Hmm

FjorgynAndHotWater · 18/11/2010 09:34

What about these ones bibi? This is the company I bought our bunk beds from, and while I don't expect they could deliver as quick as they did for me (6.5hours from order to delivery!) they do seem pretty good. And our bunks are fab Smile

Am sitting in jumper, scarf and hat at my desk, it's fricking freezing here [brrr]

Merlion · 18/11/2010 10:36

Bibi hope the chat with GP goes ok and you have pen and paper handy.

Ursula you're right it doesn't look good. One of DH's colleagues has just moved to Dublin to be an MD at one of the banks - not really a position I'd want at the moment.

Red oh no. I'd be really annoyed too.

Hots sending you a few degrees of warmth. I was driving home the other night and thinking it was a bit chilly and turned the air con down in the car. I put the outside temperature thingy on and it said it was 24 degrees Blush just shows how acclimatised I must be now. That was at about 9pm as well.

Enya who will be looking after the DDs whilst you are away? Hope DD1 feeling better and that you still get to go away.

TS and breathe....

HippyHippopotamus · 18/11/2010 11:06

ds has just emptied all six of his toy boxes. boxes are all neatly stacked and toys are all in a neat pile ARRGH

TwilightSurfer · 18/11/2010 11:25

WOW Enya! I can't wait to hear about your weekend. Fingers crossed dd1 will be fine.

Hips wasn't it you with the "fkity fkity fk fk fk" swear combo. Hmm

Trying to get DD1 showered and dressed before school run. All she wants to do is fight and whine. I am SO over that. I am sat shouting commands from my desk chair now.

DD2 is so full of gunk but none of it is coming OUT her nose. It's all going down her throat or rather sitting in her bronchial area. She could use a good coughing spree or vomit. Still she's happy as a lark and fever free. Just wonder if I should take her to the doctor.Hmm What could he do for her that I'm not already doing????????

UrsulaUndress · 18/11/2010 12:12

Hips you MUST make this sandwich to take in the car.

HippyHippopotamus · 18/11/2010 12:23

Blushyup, that was me TS Grin

HippyHippopotamus · 18/11/2010 12:23

ursula what sandwich?!! there was no link!!

UrsulaUndress · 18/11/2010 12:26

I'm on top of my game today.

It is the ultimate one-pot picnic.

I saw it years ago on the Two Fat Ladies and have made it in veggie and meat versions.

Basically, take a loaf of bread, cut the top off for a lid, hollow out all the crumb. Then inside layer lots of goodies - sundried toms, cheese, parma ham, whatever deli yummies you have to hand. There's an alternative which is with sliced sizzled steak and mushrooms. But basically you layer up sandwich ingredients inside, put the lid on, wrap it up in greaseproof paper and put an encyclopaedia on it for a few hours in the fridge.

Take it out, slice it and you get a fab sort of millefiori effect and it's divine.

This page calls it Shooter's Sandwich, I remember it as Hunter's but makes no odds. Try it!

UrsulaUndress · 18/11/2010 12:51

enya wow that's fab re. being whisked away! Hope your h is going to shower you with lurve... and lie-ins WinkGrin. You deserve a couple of nice days so good for him.

Bibi, yes I expect you have a few conflicting feelings about it, but I bet everyone around you is saying You Are Better Off. Is it necessary for you to go to that meeting at all?

BBBB well done on getting your order out! I am very much in awe of how you just do things like that as if it were nothing.

Merlion it's funny to think of someone taking a job in Ireland now and everyone going "Hmm enjoy". Jesus, talk about the sickman of Europe, I cannot believe it has come to this. I am so so Sad about it all as well as horrified at what the next ten years and more holds for us all. Parliamentary discussions

enyahadenough · 18/11/2010 13:09

ok so dd1 is poorly Sad another ear infection and mild tonsilitis SadSadSad.. when h went to collect her reading book from school was told it is going around Sad..

he is determined that we are still going away as "i need a well deserved break" ShockGrin.. tis only tom am til sunday luchtime but i am not going knock a gift horse in the mouth Grin...

really worried about leaving dd1 when she is poorly but she is on antibiotics, def no school for her tom and i have bought some wee treats which i will wrap up for her to open when i am away...

dd2 on the other hand is fighting fit and has learnt to say her name which is too cute for words Grin..

ts think you are doing everything you can for dd2 Smile and hope dd1 is now dressed and ready for school with no more tantruums..

bibi your new venture is so much more exciting than a cafe manager Grin..

urs that sandwich sounds amazing which reminds me i haven't yet eaten today so better get too it!!

HippyHippopotamus · 18/11/2010 13:12

ursula...that's sandwich is sooooo summer 09! i made one for the zoo meetup we had!

aDarkStarWithStrangeWays · 18/11/2010 13:35

Red that sucks about your hob :( although as an uncontrollable pottymouth myself I did lol at 'the children all know how to swear now'. Hope the sugru stuff works some magic upon it, and if not, you can use it to sugru DH's face Wink.

DS is exposed to a lot of swearing in the car, incidentally Blush Years of being a passenger in my dad's and then DH's cars seems to have rubbed off on me.

Drove to Derby last night to see my friend's show - the play was a piece of shit but she was great as ever, and she came back to stay the night afterwards. So today we're enjoying a duvet day and having a natter :)
