Hello. Smile

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
salta · 04/11/2010 22:51

Bibi no to the bags. Look quite impractical and wouldn't go with anything.

Thank you for the ideas. Keep them coming!

CrispyTheCrisp · 04/11/2010 23:13

Evening Smile

Have driven over 300 miles today, had a up and down day productivity wise, so just finished working Hmm. All quite enjoyable though Smile

bibi those bags look absolutely adorable, however i need bullet proof possessions Blush. I would buy for a girly girl though, depending on price.

salta sleep here for DD1 (nearly 4) - 12hrs, DD2 (13-13.5 ish)

DD2 is getting a hobby horse for Xmas as she loves DD1's plus a new jigsaw and probably some dolly clothes & lego. Her favourite toys are dollies/lego/jigsaws and her WOW campervan

Yes to Secret Santa from here Smile

Nice to hear you are spending free and burning the tea. Are you some kind of anti Stepford wife? WinkGrin

enya fingers DD1 is well enough for school tomorrow

pru where would you like to go on holiday. We can then work on a cunning plan to prove to MonsierLePru that it is indeed as easy as Paris Grin

salta · 05/11/2010 00:10

hobby horse, now there's a good idea. Should be able to source one locally

Merlion · 05/11/2010 01:34

Salta DS is getting a scooter from us (the mini micro one). His Great Grandma is buying him a Doctor's set and my Mum and Dad are buying him an easel (not that they know this yet) but is easier for them to give me cash to go and buy. His cousin (or rather SIL & BIL) are buying him a 'ment scissor' (cement mixer) - we saw 3 in a row yesterday needless to say he was particularly excited by this Grin

DH is getting Deadliest Catch box-set from me. He's obsessed and was very upset when Captain Phil died Hmm.

Am also in for the Secret Santa

Bibi have to say the bags not really my cup of tea.

Great news on all the holidays!

enyahadenough · 05/11/2010 07:16

mornining

merlion my "h" is also deadliest catch obsessed Hmm..

fingers crossed dd1 is on her way to school today, dramatic improvemet yest afternoon and seems keen to go in phew... that means that me and dd2 can go to tickety boo!

dd2 sleeps around 12-13 hours a night as she lost her nap a looong time ago... getting her a dolls house which actually dd1 would would love so are in a bit of a dilema on what to do!

st disney sounds great and well done on rescuing dinner Smile..

hope dd1 is full of the joys this am bbbb

wow that was a long working day crisp glad you enjoyed it tho..

waves to everyone else xxx

UrsulaUndress · 05/11/2010 08:25

Hello everyone, I'm glad I managed to get on before the thread ran out.

I think the bags are quite cute but I really only use large bags as I'm not a lipgloss n credit card kind of girl. And as presents, I find whenever you get a bag as a present it's always the small kind.

I'm in for Secret Santa all right.

Crisps I was shattered and moaning yesterday after 280 miles and my back is aching today, so I am rather bitter about handing you the driving marathon medal, but here you go.

Favourite toys/games - at the moment ds2 likes lego (family role play / endless trips to cafe for lego people, endless bus trips etc for lego people) and football and "going to the shops" and jigsaws/puzzles/etc. His main interest at the mo is definitely imagination games, being someone and doing things that they do. Preferably while wearing their shoes Hmm at the moment he rips ds1's shoes, still hot and socky from a schoolday, the instant he walks through the door in the afternoon, then clumps awkwardly round in them till supper.

UrsulaUndress · 05/11/2010 08:26

That reminds me - he also loves "doing my work" - i.e. getting out his pencil case and colouring at the table while ds1 does his homework. He is dying to go to school, asks to go every morning.

I'm sure it will wear off Grin.

UrsulaUndress · 05/11/2010 08:31

Oooh cyteen I want the gentleman adventurer one too! I had a binge of ice-adventure a couple of years ago but never read that. If it would be up your dp's street you could get him on to Tom Crean, one of my heroes and a South Poler. The sheer danger, the likelihood of death, the bravery, the uncertainty, the way the weather toys with you - the polar adventures are just grrrrrripping. I hated Kenneth Branagh as Shackleton.

UrsulaUndress · 05/11/2010 08:32

Sorry - your dh's street Grin.

And when I say binge I don't mean dressing in furs, I mean of course a reading binge.

CrispyTheCrisp · 05/11/2010 10:11

LOL at driving crown Grin. I suspect i had more motorway than you, so we can go for an honourable draw Grin

Off to soft play hell at the garden centre soon. Will be back after i have licked my wounds......

ScreamingTerror · 05/11/2010 10:26

Anti-Stepford Wife...
I believe DH would completely agree!Grin

Morning

aDarkStarWithStrangeWays · 05/11/2010 10:58

Grin You're an inspiration to us all, ST.

Ursula I am disappointed, was just picturing you in sealskin boots (with DS2 in mini-matching pair, obv). Is it wrong that both of those books are off my Amazon wishlist? Blush I know he'll enjoy them loads, tis mere coincidence that I can then read them afterwards.

Perty holiday dilemmas...I guess Indonesia is off the list, at least :( Just been reading about it on the news - they reckon most of the dead so far are children :( And Haiti has a hurricane coming...nature certainly has a way of making one feel insignificant, eh. I wish there was something we in the temperate isles could do besides donating to DEC.

Merlion I love 'ment scissor'! Grin DS's newest word is 'singe', said with pleasingly French accent...he means 'sandwich' Hmm Rhyming words include 'aunge' (orange) and 'fynge' (fire engine).

Bibi the bags are not my bag, I'm afraid, although I like the jewelly colours and the ideology.

I'm on for Secret Santa too :)

aDarkStarWithStrangeWays · 05/11/2010 11:31

Ursula just finished reading your Tom Crean link - what an amazing life! Incredible to think of them sledging down glacier sides and trekking for miles with just an adze and a couple of chocolate biscuits. Very Macgyver Grin

Merlion · 05/11/2010 12:48

Star my favourite of DS's has to be Squarecrow.

Silkstalkings · 05/11/2010 13:50

I'm a bit stuck for Xmas ideas as I have banned toys and clothes again this year. So far I have pre-ordered the Harry Hill album on Amazon as my big two love him and it's something DH & I would enjoy listening to. We are all going carbooting on Sunday hopefully to find DD a bike as, shamefully, we haven't taight her to ride without stabilisers yetBlush.

Been to our charity Crafty Coffee sale today and somebody bought my extra long scarf woohoo! I didn't mention I found a dropped stitch in it yesterday and did a hasty repair that she'll no doubt find laterBlush. Still, s'authentic innit?

Enya Did your dad have his vision fixed too? My dad had the retinal doodahs and got them to repair his shortsightedness at the same time. Had to spend a lot of time lying on one side after each op to encourage bloodflow to the area - v hard for someone with a Superman complex who is never still.

ShineyHappyHair · 05/11/2010 18:44

Evening, I'm in for secret santa Grin

Have been a busy girl today, morning at uni then doing some analysis for my dissertation this afternoon. Slow process but I'll get there, I know what I'm doing....just gotta do it!!!

went to hairdressers on the way home for a much needed trim - it's been 4 months since I went last!!!

UrsulaUndress · 05/11/2010 19:35

I know - 18 hours walk through pack ice with no tent or equipment, just a couple of biscuits and a mouthful of chocolate. I start getting ratty if the house is too cold when I come in from work Hmm. And he made it and sent back the rescue party to the others. When he gave u up adventuring he just put his medals into a box & ran The South Pole Inn in Annascaul in Kerry, we went there a couple of years ago for a bowl of chowder & a browse through the clippings.

Sorry to bore, he is a particular hero of mine.

So - shiney, well done on a profitable and a beautifying day, most shiny and swishy you look too.

Silken great news on your scarf sale! How satisfying.

Who was it whose ds said cockporn for popcorn? I'm sure it was one of you lot. Grin

UrsulaUndress · 05/11/2010 19:35

Will I organise SS? Who suggested it? I think Silks did it last year.

CrispyTheCrisp · 05/11/2010 21:27

Ooh ursula, That sounds wonderful Smile
No internet here as our download speed has apparently been increased. Hmm. Go figure the logic in that.
New iphone ordered for me today as mine is held together with a rubber band. Finally managed to get it on a free upgrade after starting at a point that I wasn't allowed an upgrade for another 9 months. I asked that they reconsider their position Grin

CrispyTheCrisp · 05/11/2010 21:33

I should say mine is a 3 yr old nokia. I don't trash phones that quickly!

UrsulaUndress · 05/11/2010 21:42

Nice one crisps. I am hoping to get a new one by mid-next week, I dropped my trusty iPhone in a puddle today and that was that. It was in a leather sleeve as well. Banjaxed. Waaaahhh!

CrispyTheCrisp · 05/11/2010 21:48

Clumsy fecker! S'pose I am getting practice on R's now......

HippyHippopotamus · 05/11/2010 22:54

Evening all.meant to be at hen weekend but I'm not well :(
I'm using itouch from bed and it's too fiddly to type more
Hope to be back on laptop tomorrow and that you're all happy

BibiBelle · 05/11/2010 23:08

oh no Hippy - hope you're feeling better soon!

Crips - welcome to the world of iphone - tis addictive but V handy!

Ursula - DH and I potentially have some time off together so considering a trip to the Emerald Isle

Once back from fireworks I've spent this evening surfing for logo designs - now just need a talented soul to put pen to paper for me! Going to a makers market tomorrow to try to source more talented souls for the shop but difficult when we don't have the business cards yet - at least we have a phone line now!

alittlebitshy · 05/11/2010 23:09

hippy oh - we missed you at gym today. sorry you;re not well:(
