Ouch Sad re the ear infections going round. We seem to be finally stopping coughing after nearly two weeks, but as DD is now back at school I'm sure she'll be bringing some new germs back very soon...

Bunk beds are up Grin delivered and assembled less than 24 hours after they were ordered Shock DS is very taken with the top bunk, eek. Think we'll be taking the ladder away quite often!

FjorgynAndHotWater · 02/11/2010 13:44

Holy crap Shock he's already managed to get on the top bunk without the ladder...

CrispyTheCrisp · 02/11/2010 16:10

PMSL hots. I LOVE Thor Grin

Sorry to hear of illing folk. Doing ok after my early night although DD2 decided to have the screaming ab dabs at 3.30am (luckily not waking DD1) and then we were up at 6.30am

We have got the pictures back from preschool (which i had a nightmare over if you remember) and there are 3 good ones out of 4. DD2 is even smiling Shock

Right, back to work.......

alittlebitshy · 02/11/2010 17:07

we have good pics back from toddlers too crispy lovely individual ones of both dc and a sweet one of them together.

boybait er, erm, i should remember but i forget no, hang on he has gone with a org called rooted in jesus and is teaching catechists (lay reader equivalent) a specially designed course. Zululand last week was really good, but east London this week is a lo more challenging he says.

am loving THOR!

RedLentil · 02/11/2010 18:14

Dinner of celeriac mash, Batchelors Beans and omelette eaten with gusto here
There isn't a scrap in the house due to torrential rain and a knackered windscreen wiper. If they'd eat blue cheese, it could have added a whole other dimension. Wink

I tried taking some photos of the kitchen today so I'll have a go at uploading them later if I can find the cable (no breath-holding now...)

DH is running around the house pretending to be a cow. Hmm

ScreamingTerror · 02/11/2010 18:24

Red, DD2 hasn't stopped eating all day. Every 10 minutes she's asking for something else. Hmm She's eating a fitness bar now. YUK! It was all I had that she hadn't already consumed.Envy

DD2 has also ignored nap-time today. Anyone want to bet she passes out as soon as I start the truck heading over to pick up DD1 from school.

CrispyTheCrisp · 02/11/2010 20:08

ALBS i have spent an extortionate amount ordering pics Blush. In my defence we have never had any Venture or professional photos done

LOL at your meal Red, but what are Batchelors beans?

Busy work day here and our school visit was canx with 5 mins notice this morning Angry. I know it can't be helped but DH was working at home, i had arranged my work day away for Thurs around it so a PITA

DD2 has apparently slept for England today and I am on for another early night. Can't cope with this winter darkness Hmm

Yesterday we went to a birthday tea and DD2 went round shouting NO at every Q, pouting and then saying YUCK to all the food (crisps & cakes) before then polishing it off Blush

blueberryboybait · 02/11/2010 20:32

Evening

DDs both in bed - DD1 waking at 6am is waking DD2 which had really messed with her routine. DD1 has spent a fair amount of the last few days on the step for using the phrase 'you are a silly old xxxxx' (insert animal of choice) to anyone who refuses to do ask she demands! DH says I am being too harsh but I just won't stand for her calling anyone especially adults names. She is having some wierd food refusals atm porridge, mash and foods of that texture make her gag and she threw up on MIL who tried to force a spoon of mash and gravy on her.

DD2 is the most amazing creature - I don't remember feeling like this with DD1, I guess with DD1 there was such expectation for things to go right for her to meet milestones as she was only ever going to be just the one I never really stopped to enjoy her. I have spent the last 2 mornings when DD1 is at nursery just blowing raspberries, snuffling her neck and inhaling her never wanting her to grow up.

ALBS - I wnder if he will meet anyone from a charity run by our friend's in SA - they work for a Christian Aids charity called Ithemba wo work with churches and communities in that part of the Eastern Cape.

We have had the girls piccies back from school and the Pixiephoto people and have afamily session booked for the 20th Nov with a friend who is a photographer, we also won a voucher for a very posh session with a photo place near here with some free piccies so we will be piccied out by Christmas!

back in a bit kettle has boiled. Tea anyone?

CrispyTheCrisp · 02/11/2010 21:03

BBBB I don't think you are being to harsh. They are SO strong willed at this stage and pushing things all the time. If DD2 says things are yuck she gets removed from the table until she can be a bit more pleasant about my (and others) delicious offerings Grin

Lovely words about DD2 Smile. I guess when you see what they can say in a year or so, you appreciate the gurgling Grin

CrispyTheCrisp · 02/11/2010 22:57
HippyHippopotamus · 02/11/2010 23:04

hellooooo right back at ya!

caught up, too tired, off to bed, love you all

CrispyTheCrisp · 02/11/2010 23:07

Hello hippy - surely off to the zoo? Wink

ScreamingTerror · 03/11/2010 00:19

Crispy, strong willed is an understatement! Yesterday, DD2 wanted "MORE GRAPES!" I said, "no more grapes." She slammed her bowl on the ground (she was standing in the kitchen). It hit the kitchen rug so she picked it up and slammed it down again ON THE TRAVERTINE. The bloody bowl shattered into a million pieces all over the kitchen. I VERY LOUDLY said, BAD! SIT!. She looked terrified but didn't move. I said SIT! again and she sat with THE FEAR very well realized. I will not tolerate nasty behavior!! Boybait, what you did was exactly the correct response!!

enyahadenough · 03/11/2010 06:37

morning yawn....

ok so i thought the dds were on new time, 6am for both yikes....

my stupid cough has returned again thinking i need to dose up on some vitamins Grin..

not sure if sending dd1 to school, she seems ok but the effects of the antibiotics are not pleasant Hmm.. think we need to get some probiotitics Grin..

crispy batchelor beans are the irish version of baked beans and are truly delicious Grin..

bbbb been having food issues with dd2 for quite a long time.. she used to eat mash like it was going out of fashion but like your dd1 she has a tendency to gag on it alot now... her plate has to be swimming literally in gravy meat and veg for her to have a little bit!!!

She is also testing her boundaries alot by throwing things ST so my sympathies there.. when i serious shout at her, she bursts into tears and puts her arms around my neck and say sorry sorry sorry... pretty hard to resist Grin..

that is a pita crispy re school cancelling Angry

blueberryboybait · 03/11/2010 07:59

Morning - not a bad night here :) DD2 has started waking for food in the night again but it's only once so not bad at all. DD1 awake at 6 again despite a normal bedtime, am going to try and cut out the nap today. DD2 napping already.

Hippy - hope you managed some good sleep.

Morning Crispy :)

Enya - Hope DD1 is well enough to go to school then you and DD2 can have an easy day and you can rest a little.

I offered to have the local BF group here today as the Children's Centre is closed for repairs so have a whole hoard coming here from 12.30 Shock so need to clean, tidy, bake, sort enough decent cups for tea and coffee and move all DD1's Sylvanians out ofthe way of small grabbing creatures.

enyahadenough · 03/11/2010 08:10

Thanks bbbb but no she is off so no rest for me and dd2 and no gymboree..... Not really sad about that Grin

CrispyTheCrisp · 03/11/2010 08:35

Morning Smile

Sometime in the night DD1 wandered in saying she needed clippers for her toenails Hmm. So i removed the offending piece of nail and she trotted back to bed. DD2 woke at 5.30 and no energy to put her back to bed so she kept us awake until 7.30 when DD1 woke up. I must be stronger in taking her back as i know she would go back to sleep.

TS DD2 does the slamming and shouting and pouting, hands on hips and 'its not fair'. She has a good teacher in DD1 though Hmm

enya hopefully the antibiotics will sort DD1 asap

We have gym/swimming this morning, quick supermarket dash, lunch, haloween party and then collapse!

Enjoy your impromptu party BBBB

Merlion · 03/11/2010 08:57

Crispy if DS wakes at that time there is no going back to sleep. He was up at that time this morning - yawn.

Have been to swimming with him this afternoon that he loves. He too is testing boundaries but takes no notice of me - I need to work on my 'I mean business voice'.

Had my graduation ceremony for my exams yesterday which was nice.

aDarkStarWithStrangeWays · 03/11/2010 12:43

DS was pogoing on our heads at 5.30am Hmm He woke up in the night all upset, possibly as a result of trying to pass the enormous poo he did this morning.

He is also throwing things a lot, indeed he will react to being told off by throwing something and then looking at me curiously to see what I do. So far I've been doing nothing unless the thrown item is delicate or dangerous, in which case he gets a firm explanation of NO.

HippyHippopotamus · 03/11/2010 12:54

we've got a 'no throwing' rule in the house after P narrowly escaped his heavy leather football landing on her Hmm T still tries occassionally but gets sent straight to naughty corner if he does

P is officially huge! 0-3 is way too small, 3-6 a wee bit tight Hmm She's currently wearing a dress as a top!

Silkstalkings · 03/11/2010 14:43

There you are, you dropped off my On List while I was away Blush.
Will try and catch up some later, right now am emotionally exhausted thanks to Virgin Media, pray for me folks that BT will take away my troubles with minimum hassle ASAP or I just may crumble into catatonia.

PS Devon was great, although I had a small meltdown at a National Trust venue and K has become a proper mouth-foaming tantrumming toddler suddenly.

Hope you're all less frazzled than I. Mwah.

aDarkStarWithStrangeWays · 03/11/2010 18:39

Welcome back Silky :) I may soon be asking you for self-employment tips as I am yet again facing redundancy After months of waiting for the axe to fall, we get our 'at risk' letters next Monday and I can't imagine my post will be anything other than at risk, unless they just cut us altogether.

It's a bit of a pain as DH and I have been busy making plans that will be harder to implement on just one salary.

Still, at least we're healthy - my latest smear results came back nice and normal. So that's a plus! Grin

CrispyTheCrisp · 03/11/2010 18:59

Oh no Star Sad. Although i do have to say IM(very limited)E, work life is better (and more lucrative) after redundancy. Fingers x'd something comes your way asap if the axe does indeed fall

Nice to see you back Silky I was just thinking of you today Smile. Did your order arrive at the cottage ok?
Sorry to hear you have a mouth-foaming little person too. DD2 has pronounced most things given to her today as YUCK, including a swimming float Hmm and a bottle of milk she had just asked for Confused
LOL at 'officially huge'. I am SURE that is a typo and meant to say 'officially cute/delightful/gurgly/pretty/lovely' Grin

Hurrah for the graduation ceremony Merlion. I hope you didn't have to do any sharp puking exits Grin

enya have the ab's worked for DD1?

Fjorn are you a quivering wreck this morning? Hope you didn't spend the night in A&E with ThorTheMountaineer?

blueberryboybait · 03/11/2010 19:35

Star - how horrid to be in limbo yet again!

Merlion - yay for you graduation, did you have a mocktail to celebrate?

Enya - I hope DD1 is feeling better and is ready for school tomorrow. I hope you are resting.

MJ - see above comment about resting!

DH had very very lovingly just booked flights home for us in January he has also booked my fav hotel for a night as my birthday pressie :) I am sooo thrilled as we had just decided not to go as it was very expensive but apparently he got a deal Hmm through a client Hmm

blueberryboybait · 03/11/2010 19:41

Forgot to say I rang my mum to say ' can we meet for lunch at my xx on the 9th Jan' as they are in SA at the same time, I said got as far as can we meet for lunch and she asked 'when are you due?' I very very nearly hung up on her!
