blueberryboybait · 03/11/2010 21:31

ALBS - We go on the 4th of Jan and back on the 21st. I am looking for a holiday house/flat now. My family is a little too big and loud for DH for that long.

BibiBelle · 04/11/2010 00:04

I'm just wheeching in and wheeching out - been a busy couple of days but keeping up and loving you all ladies

dd1 i hope is back at school today... i think if she had been at nursery she would probably be off for the full week but i think that as she is at school i need her to try and go in... she is still pretty wan and pale and playing the game v well but strong mummy must intervene... i think Hmm..

dd2 still asleep after her 6am start yesterday!

ScreamingTerror · 04/11/2010 12:46

Seems we are going to DISNEY WORLD for spring break!!! My dad has offered us a condo in Orlando a million times and last night DH said "okay." Anyone going to be in that area the 3rd week of March next year?Grin

Enya, if she's poorly she'll get nothing from school anyway so you're doing her and her teacher a service by keeping her home.

Star, you strike me as very resourceful. I'm not going to worry about you just yet.Wink

enyahadenough · 04/11/2010 13:04

thanks ST, she seems to have periods of perfect wellness followed by slumping on the sofa.. we went out for a bit this am as i need to get shopping in, started off fine but by the end was freezing, tired and pale Sad... really hoping she can do in tomorrow as dd2 is like a caged animal stuck at home and we are due to go to friends at the weekend!

salta · 04/11/2010 14:14

OK girls,

How many hours do your DC sleep in 24?

DD (11 months) - about 13
DS (2.3) - about 12

And

What toys would you recommend for Christmas?

Top toys here:

DS:

Trainset
Garage
Buggy

Books always a winner, but not much interest in puzzles. Likes sticker books, will do scribbling but not a big entertainer.

DD:

Electronic things with lights and tunes

Likes books, likes eating paper.

My parents are buying DS a trike with handle so that I can push him and then he can pedal when he gets a bit bigger, and DD a sit on trike.

salta · 04/11/2010 14:17

PS screaming terror whoo hoo re: spring break! and I hope that the enya clan get better soon. How about strapping them in the car and driving them round for an hour without going anywhere if you need to get out the house?

aDarkStarWithStrangeWays · 04/11/2010 14:49

salta I'd say DS sleeps about 12.5hrs in every 24. His top toys atm are:

cheapo plastic garage with lots of toy vehicles
anything with a nee-naw on it
jigsaws - he's just got into these in a big way
books galore, as long as they involve vehicles or animals

I'm planning to get him an easel for Christmas as he loves loves loves drawing and colouring. Also some more Brio bits to expand what he's got.

What are all the mummies wanting for Christmas then? DH and I have agreed a ten pound limit for each other, so I reckon I'm going to get him this and maybe this.

ScreamingTerror · 04/11/2010 15:54

dd2: 11 hours at night (at least) and 2 hours (most days) at nap-time. 13 would be a good average for her.

presents have me baffled for dd2. dd1 is getting a bike, maybe a kindle or game thingie (she's big on electronics). i'm not in the buying spirit right now because i'm in a spending free. cue guilt when i replaced my digital camera last weekend. it may go back to the store before the week's out.Hmm

ScreamingTerror · 04/11/2010 15:56

OH FREUD! Spending FREEZE not FREE. OMG!! LOL!

ShineyHappyHair · 04/11/2010 18:36

merlion huge congrats on the graduation Grin

Star sorry to hear of possible axe-wielding-workiness, hoping it all works out the way you want it to

to albs, red, bbbb, bb, silky, ST, enya, crispy, salta, hippo, Ursula & fjorgyn Grin

ds2 sleeps about 1.5 hrs in the day and 11 hrs at night
Fave toys:
little toy cars
anything that belongs to ds1
books
anything that is out of reach!

BibiBelle · 04/11/2010 18:50

AARGGHHHHHH it ate my post - my first proper post in ages

BibiBelle · 04/11/2010 21:57

ladies, a quick opinion on these please here would you buy one or be happy with someone buying one for you?!

ScreamingTerror · 04/11/2010 21:58

Didn't get my stew on early enough so meat was tough. Opted to let it cook for the evening and serve it tomorrow. Started browning some rice pilaf and burnt it. Tossed the burnt crap in the bin. Unearthed a frozen pizza and popped it in the oven. Fingers crossed it survives!

PertyPru · 04/11/2010 22:10

Hullo BB. Yes to the bags etc, lovely IMO. This is a stupid question, but what do you guys mean when you say it ate your post? Prob if I posted more often I would have encountered this annoyance but as it is I am sans clue...

Hope you are all well. Star that is seriously crap, sorry you have that to worry about.

Enya, hope DD is doing ok.

Wow to your hols ST and Boybait. Sounds amazing. I have been muttering to DH about a holiday... we are at our usual impasse where he suggests Paris because it's easy and I look like an ungrateful cow because it's not exactly a slap in the face with a wet fish, now is it. On a similar note I am [grumpy] because my mother has offered to babysit on a specific day next week but I have an NCT ctte meeting. I would beg you to talk me into skipping it, only we are so few and the Chair is pg and feeling rough and and and [guilty face]

Toys... DD loves jigsaws and books and her easel and farm. Considering dolls [house/pram/bed/tea-set] sort of things. Or a tent of some smallish, indoor kind? Me, I want books, and time to read them in (perhaps I could hide in the tent). BTW are we doing a secret santa this year? Was fun last year, no?

ScreamingTerror · 04/11/2010 22:22

Pizza was a HUGE hit!! It was perfect actually. Now I'm making Devil's Food cupcakes!!

BibiBelle · 04/11/2010 22:23

thanks Perty

I can't decide if it was the laptop or MN but I wrote a big long post replying to everyone and it came up with a preview and then it disappeared

ooh yes to secret santa!!!

ScreamingTerror · 04/11/2010 22:27

crossed with perty!

blueberryboybait · 04/11/2010 22:33

Evening all

Bibi - lovely I'll have a purple one Wink.

DD1 stayed home from nursery today as she was falling asleep in her cereal this morning even after 12 hours sleep. SHe has a huge nap and woke up looking and behaving like her normal self.

For Christmas - DD1 is very into Sylvaninans so I got a few in the Sainsburys sale, a tea set (her fav game at the moment is picnics), some books and puzzles. She absolutely loves dolls houses and has one at the GP and one in DH's office, she has a Sylvanian house at home.

Perty - I would skip the meeting and take the chance to go out somewhere with DH! I would be up for a secret santa but if you all want to get anything I won't offer to organise.

ScreamingTerror · 04/11/2010 22:38

YES to Secret Santa!! 50 days till Christmas so let's get to organizing!
