Well no, cos theres no democratic process for getting rid of a royal family. Unless we ..you know.. do a France 😁

I think there’s quite a few on mn, including the op, who’d welcome a French solution.😂
Where will the guillotine go? Outside Buckingham Palace? Or outside Westminster Abbey, maybe?

Starmer and Reeves have both lasted in their respective roles for 18 months, and counting. In terms of competence and statesmanship, Truss is simply not in their league. You can argue all you like, but that is a fact.

Only because neither of them seem to get the hint and just go. Have never seen such unpopular politicians - literally don’t know anyone that will publically admit supporting the Labour Party anymore and they are both a huge part of that.

Truss was far, far worse than Starmer. Why do you suppose she only lasted a month and a half in the job?

Because she was never meant to win. They wanted Sunak. The establishment made sure she only lasted a month.

Mauritius are planning on sueing us now for millions. Well done David Lammy.

And Rwanda

pouletvous · 03/02/2026 20:02

Nah. He’s been sleazing up for decades

Autumngirl5 · 03/02/2026 20:04

I hope so!

Why are people assuming that anyone - including KS - knew anything about Mandelson and JE? The whole part about the files is that they are a deep dive into private correspondence and photos. Mandelson knew what he'd done but there is absolutely no evidence that anyone else in the UK govt did.

The government knew there was a leak but ‘couldn’t pin it down’.

Shame that the combined efforts of the Cabinet Office, GCHQ, MI5, MI6, and all the rest couldn’t pin it down. Oh well.

Hazlenuts2016 · 03/02/2026 20:09

@Helen1625 Rwanda cost the tax payer billions before the tories had even launched it. It was never going to be workable, was just a gimmick as a very expensive last ditch attempt to win votes.

@StarChamber how did they know there was a leak? I mean if they didn’t in those days have access to Epstein’s emails.

I know.

I was responding to the poster who said Mauritius is going to sue the UK. I added 'and Rwanda' as they are now going to sue the UK too.

TessSaysYes · 03/02/2026 20:32

I'd said probably not possible 😊

The same issue is costing billions under Labour.

That doesn't make him a worse Prime Minister than Truss.

I think he is worse.

Hazlenuts2016 · 03/02/2026 23:17

@caringcarer people lost their houses because of Truss' mini budget sending mortgage rates sky rocketing. In what sense is he worse?

LizzieSiddal · 03/02/2026 23:21

Re Keir Starmer’s house being set on fire, there is a trial coming up, so the facts will come out there.
Anyone saying it’s being covered up is being ridiculous.

He personally persecuted British soldiers who had been found innocent but he wouldn't accept that and even doing working for free to try to get them prosecuted. He made their lives a misery on his personal vendetta against them. A very nasty man.

Hazlenuts2016 · 04/02/2026 06:53

@caringcarer this is interesting. I can only find reports on this in the right wing press, so would like to see less biased reporting. But what would be in it for him, as a human rights lawyer? I wonder if his role has been misrepresented.

hattie43 · 04/02/2026 07:34

Starmer needs to go . After Chagos , Chinese Embassy and now this . He is a traitor who hates the UK and shows a worrying disregard for MI5 concerns .

I think it very possible.
Actually, I think Starmer should leg it out of his own accord.
He appointed this man as ambassador when he had not been cleared by the MI6. I mean.... how stupid does one need to be? Or in it elbow deep!
The MI5 and MI6 already failed to find out what Mandelson had been up to earlier, but after them finding him dodgy, Starmer still pressed ahead?!??! Weird...
I think this investigation may still throw out quite a few punches, if they really allow access to all intel.

Facts never stop conspiracy theorists.

I had not heard of this arsonist business until this thread. But leaping from ‘someone targeted a contentious and unpopular political figure’s house at a time of major domestic controversies and world conflict’ to ‘it’s because he’s gay innit’ seems like quite the leap.

38thparallel · 04/02/2026 07:48

I doubt the left wing press would report it in an unbiased way either.
