Why are certain posters so obsessed with claiming that KS is a closet gay? Why would he need to be in 2026?!

Just common or garden homophobia combined with a visceral dislike for Starmer.

And Boris Johnson and Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor too. I hope they all go down.

I have not seen Boris involved with this scandal. However, people will try to associate him but shit it is actually Mandelson from Labour in the frying pan today. 😂

Bizarre Labour are mentioning him on here. This is all Starmer, Mandelson and Labour.

Reading the papers including The Times today it is quite amazing how many people were taken in by Mandelson. Daniel Finklestein says that he was a political rival for years but thought him a very clever politician. He is amazed that anyone so intelligent could have been so stupid.
Mandelson it seems was the driving force that created New Labour. By abandoning Clause 4 (Public Ownership) and accepting Nuclear Weapons Labour became electable.

This sort of acknowledgement will be repeated by so many others and I think because they admired him for his talents no one person will be blamed. Not even Starmer.

I haven’t had chance to read that article yet but surely the answer to “ how could he be so stupid?” Is the usual a) greed and b) arrogance in that he expects to get away with it

The government knew there was a leak but ‘couldn’t pin it down

@StarChamber how did they know there was a leak? I mean if they didn’t in those days have access to Epstein’s emails.

The former permanent secretary to the Treasury Nick Macpherson said there had been suspicions about leaks during that period. “Alistair Darling and the official Treasury were always aware that investment banks had an inside track to No 10. But the brazen nature of that inside track is rather breathtaking,” he said.

Story here:

Only if it turns out Starmer knew all this detail about Epstein and Mandelson’s relationship.
But it seems unlikely

I agree. Surely if Starmer knew all this he wouldn’t have appointed him Ambassador.

Exactly. Starmer would certainly not have known this at the time of the appointment. He is an intelligent man.
Those who are hoping he will be brought down need to ask themselves what the alternatives are.
At last we have a PM with credibility and integrity on the world stage during some challenging times internationally. I see no- one else who could fill those shoes.

He personally persecuted British soldiers who had been found innocent but he wouldn't accept that and even doing working for free to try to get them prosecuted. He made their lives a misery on his personal vendetta against them. A very nasty man.

No he didn't at all, you've just made that up, he provided legal clarification for free, he prosecuted no one.

Plus not a single soldier who served in Iraq was ever prosecuted, only the lawyer, Shiner, who the Tories did nothing about for many years.

In 2010, less than 100 investigations into Iraqi possible war crimes... by 2017, under the Tories, it was 2500....

Prosecutions for Bloody Sunday was also done and started under the Tories... same with SF in Afghanistan too.

where is this credibility and integrity you speak of? The man is dogged by sleaze and terrible judgement

I think he has certainly shown poor judgement at times.

The allegations of sleaze are just made up as far as I can tell.

Really? He started out pretty strong with all the Lord Ali grift. Not sure how he gets his saintly reputation. Through being priggish in his criticism of the tories I guess, but then proceeds to behave in all the same ways

It’s global. Starmer is highly regarded in every country apart from his own.

Labour - me?! You think I’d support the party that gives us the gibbering nonsense of Lisa Nandy and David Lammy, and the cowardice of Bridget Phillipson and Wes Streeting? No thanks.

And Boris Johnson’s lies and misdeeds around the EU referendum should have landed him in legal shit and prison IMO . They didn’t. So here we now are.

There are plenty of news sources on this. E.g. https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2019/nov/02/boris-johnson-vote-leave-overspend-eu-referendum-labour-mp-ian-lucas#:~:text=%E2%80%9CWhat's%20quite%20clear%20is%20Cummings,and%20operated%20by%20Tortoise%20Media.

There is a lot of unsubstantiated rumour, spread deliberately on social media by people seeking to discredit him. There is plenty of that even on this thread.

There is a reason why even the right-leaning press don't report on this stuff. They hate Starmer and would be all over it immediately if there was even the slightest bit of evidence to substantiate the claims.

It is, isn’t it?

Extraordinary to find out it was the Secretary of State for Business … this has got to mean the possibility of prison time, surely?

And I wonder if anyone else got blamed for Mandelson’s leaking?

Of course he does. That’s why the UK has lower tariffs from Trump than any other country, that isn’t in our interests at all, is it?

Not highly regarded in my opinion. I think he’s seen as a malleable person. Trump and Putin probably laugh at him

If you read the foreign press you obviously disregard it. Starmer’s diplomatic skills are highly regarded globally.
