Trump supporters don't think. They love a slogan, they love a rally, and they love their guy. But they don't think.

I wouldn't describe myself as a fan but as someone who might have voted for him I'm watching with interest

I wonder if the left's greatest failure is in understanding the right. The right understand the left. The left don't understand the right. That's a strategic disadvantage

Well he's delivering on promises. I'd desperately love for a DOGE type of audit in this country, the spending they've uncovered is absolutely criminal.

The oddest thing to me is any time someone challenges Trump they’re automatically on the left. Why do you assume that everyone is either the left or the right??

However, the right are pretty easy to understand regardless of your political leaning. Anti-immigration (but only a certain type), reduce the role of the state (whilst usually stepping up the cult of personality), isolationist (whilst usually butting into every other foreign affair they have something to gain from), scapegoat societal problems on minority groups (whilst pretending they give a toss about the majority), in the pockets of big business (often scapegoating minority groups again for the poor economic situation the country is in). I’ll have missed something out but it really isn’t difficult to understand and it isn’t difficult to see how people have fallen for it.

Seems like an absolutely huge generalisation.

I'm visiting lefty family in USA rt now in a lefty county in a Red state. I perceive that MAGA believe feds never did nuthin 4 me so fine if entire Fed Gov gets destroyed. And nakedly constant coercive strategy with rest of world is sensible Real Politique to them, the winner takes it all & POTUS Trump is above the law, hence Y Jan6th Rioters all got pardons (loyalty to Trump gets rewarded).

Untortunately I am not widely read or knowledgable on the subject.

I’m not a huge Trump fan but as a GC woman I’m very glad about his views on only two sexes.
Hopefully that will filter over here as most things do.

I am not a Trump voter, but I am an American. I have a few Trump voters in my family, they say he is delivering on his promises, he has a plan, yeah but Biden blah blah blah.

I can't think of anything that could happen or be revealed that would change their mind, tbh. They are a different breed and are getting their information and world views from very different, dubious, sources. It doesn't matter what happens or is said, they won't waver. Fuck knows why

I can tell you mine. Trump is lying through his teeth now, or has totally lost all his marbles. He has accused Ukraine of starting the war, and Zelensky of being a dictator! Actually Trump is quite thick, it's possible he mixed up the Russian and Ukrainian leaders 🤔

DOGE's ill-thought out, indiscriminate cuts have compromised national security. Agencies are having to re-hire.

The immediate stop to USAID has fucked American farmers who supply 40% of food aid. Food is stuck in transit. Crops have been planted. Farmers are not being paid.

There are 100s of expensive court cases challenging DOGE's cuts.

They've only been operational for a few weeks so it's way too early to say it has saved anything.
