Europe has not put in less by any metric than the US for a start. A lot of what the US has provided has been near to expiry US weapons or kit from US companies, the figures flouted aren't simply cash. The US have been supporting as a sovereign nation being invaded with the aim of swathes being taken over by a hostile country is not ideal. The US was also part of the agreement with Ukraine in the past that they would surrender their nuclear weapons in return for security, plus were a key player in the escalation. There have been several attempts at peace talks, Trumps plan is very much simply handing Putin what he wants, anyone could have done that even though it's not the right thing to do.

Putin isn’t interested in peace talks. He’s only interested in the now because the US is now on his side and he’s likely to get what he wants with few concessions.

DOGE have provided no evidence of anything.

There were many on the Left 3 years ago who were saying exactly what Trump is saying now- that Ukraine shouldn't have talked about joining Nato and that it was their fault because of that. Now Trump is saying the same thing, it's beyond the pale. It was wrong 3 years ago when they said it too.

You really don't have to be a trump supporter to realise that Zelensky is taking the piss.

Ask yourself why it's so wrong they want to join NATO though. Why should Russia dictate what a sovereign nation can or can't do, surely it's more 'beyond the pale' that a country would threaten missile attacks & invasion if another would go against what is simply their wants? Even Putin in 2005 said: "we will respect their choice, because it is their sovereign right to decide their own defence policy, and this will not worsen relations between our countries" before changing their mind ffs.

Trump has made European countries appear very weak and we could probably do with a bit of a wake up call. I do think he has been very cruel to Zelensky and Ukraine.

Putin seems to have managed to get America to negotiate without even having to have a cease fire. I think Putin is cleverer than Trump and, unlike the republican party, Putin doesn’t have to worry about elections or bad press back home.

I’m not a Trump fan so I don’t know how they are feeling. Marco Rubio wasn’t looking that chipper though.
