Prayer thread for summer 2009 - My grace is sufficient

DutchOma · 18/06/2009 13:24

My grace is sufficient for you 2Cor 12:9
and
When I am weak then I am strong 2Cor 12:10

Reading through last month's prayer request I came across the first text quoted by M44 and it brought the second one to mind.
When I am weak.....when I cry out to the Lord to my sisters to please pray for me, when life is hard....then I am strong.
I counted more than 20 names in last month's prayerlist, more than 30 when I counted the names Dippy had mentioned at the beginning of her update, so I will only mention a few names here.

We pray for Anna and Findlay, where real miracles of the Lord are needed.
For M44's mother-in-law in hospital
For Weegiemum that the Lord may uphold her as only He can. For Marc and Suzanne on their wedding day.
For Boilerwoman that she may take her strength from the Lord.
For Jentlydoesit and her DP that God may bring good into a difficult situation. Giving thanks for the new job.
For Swaliswan and dd2.
For Onlyjoking in this season of remembrances and for the children who are suffering more now than a year ago.
For Clockface with exciting changes to come.

And at this stage, sisters, I call you together to prayer for one another.
You know who you are - beloved of the Lord.

MaryBS · 27/06/2009 20:36

Mary - Gogo's are 'crazy bones' little figures that you can collect n swap

mjim - ds2 still fighting up trying sooooo hard to just ignore him, he's at the door shining his torch in my face as we speak! moaning cause he has no pj's on, when he wouldn't have a bath and put them on!

dd crying now cause he's upsetting her, vicious circle.

Praise God for their good health they are adorable normally, just ds2 behaviour atm, enough to distract pope benedict the 16th

ds2 is now moaning his legs are aching, his arms are aching, his heads aching, his sister keeps waking him, oh and I'm making him cry (Iwill in a minute if he doesn't get to bed)

Patience sooz, keep ignoring him!!!!!!

lol - it is something to do with a combination of testosterone and tiredness, says another mother of 2 boys, at wits end these days. It's worse in heat, too, I think. Take 'em swimming if you can tomorrow. Splashing about in water seems to help I think - cools them down and tires them out in a good way.

MJIM - it does get better, honestly. DS1 is fairly revolting at the moment, but it is down to tiredness, and at least I can explain that to him too. He is 9, and so knows that he will have to be extra careful with his behaviour, as being tired is not an excuse anymore for doing things he is not allowed to. I find it much harder when they are little, as I am loathed to be really strict with an overtired child, who really can't control what they are up to.

Hang on in there! Thinking of you.

MaryBS · 28/06/2009 08:22

Hormones have a lot to answer for, and as a mother of a 9yo girl, who bursts into tears at the drop of a hat, it can only get worse as she heads towards her teens!

Praying that everyone has a peaceful and joyful Sunday.

Thanks from me aswell for the support, ds2 settled at 9.45 then I had ds1 to deal with at 11pm

But thank you God for a relatively calm day,bribes and everyone has gone to bed without fuss tonight {{{{sigh}}}}

ZipadiSoozi · 28/06/2009 21:54

Prayers for a boingy day tomorrow

LovingtheSilverFox · 28/06/2009 22:05

{{BOUNCE, BOUNCE}}

Am praying for everyone's households this evening. We have just tried new bedtime routine with DD1 and it seems to be working....so far! Shirley Hughes is helping immensley, thank you for that recommendation!

Also please pray as I have to see DD1's teacher tomorrow. She's been biting other kiddies, and on one or two occasions, for no reason at all, and she admits that herself. I always feel like a very young, inexperienced Mum when I see them, although they are lovely teachers! Please pray that we can find a way for us to support them and them support us in turn to bring her through this phase with the minimal amount of damage to other children....and she's bitten DTs once or twice too....trust me to have the first child/lion hybrid!

LovingtheSilverFox · 28/06/2009 22:06

{{Not so bouncy now!}}

ZipadiSoozi · 28/06/2009 23:08

Prayers for you and dd1 tomorrow at school, and for a lovely bouncy day

mufti · 29/06/2009 08:30

hi all, my baby is 3 today

DutchOma · 29/06/2009 09:08

LTSF Biting is not as uncommon as you might think. Have a word with MJIM and she will share your grief. Shirley Hughes is wonderful, isn't she?
Prayers for Mary today and for Boilerwoman.
Happy birthday Mufti's ds. Can't believe it, but it is two years since I last saw him.

Hello,

Birthday here too - my (big) baby is 8 today - can't believe it. DH is working away for 2 months so please pray I can make this a special day for her without daddy and survive the next 2 months! We will then join him so there's a lot going on right now what with being single mum and trying to sort out an international move.

Thanks.

DutchOma · 29/06/2009 10:15

Happy birthday KTNoo's dd. Any other children? Best of luck with all the arrangements

Jumente, everyone is welcome here for prayer

Thanks to everyone who has prayed for me for my coursework. I've now completed tonight's presentation, just need to load it on my laptop and do a final run-through . Prayers for tonight, when I actually GIVE the presentation, please!

Praying for all with family difficulties, so sorry to hear you and DH are still struggling CD

LTSF, praying all went well at school, do let us know?

Happy birthday to all the children too...

DS had a fabulous time, was no trouble whatsoever. Only minor detail, but on Sunday he dressed himself in what he wore on Saturday - which was ABSOLUTELY FILTHY! He was a right state! Oh and a well done him, he is obviously taking after his mummy - they played 3 games of sudoku (with colours instead of numbers) with the beavers and cubs. DS was the ONLY ONE who got any of them right - in fact he got all 3 right! Proud mummy here!

KTNoo · 29/06/2009 17:23

Praying for your friend Jumente, and thinking of tonight MaryBS.

Thanks for the birthday wishes - dd has had a great day. Tomorrow will be her last day at school - she'll go to a new school after the summer when we move, so it's an emotional time for her (and her younger brother and sister). Proud of how all of them are handling everything so far but I'm sure there's more to come!
