Prayer thread for summer 2009 - My grace is sufficient

My grace is sufficient for you 2Cor 12:9
and
When I am weak then I am strong 2Cor 12:10

Reading through last month's prayer request I came across the first text quoted by M44 and it brought the second one to mind.
When I am weak.....when I cry out to the Lord to my sisters to please pray for me, when life is hard....then I am strong.
I counted more than 20 names in last month's prayerlist, more than 30 when I counted the names Dippy had mentioned at the beginning of her update, so I will only mention a few names here.

We pray for Anna and Findlay, where real miracles of the Lord are needed.
For M44's mother-in-law in hospital
For Weegiemum that the Lord may uphold her as only He can. For Marc and Suzanne on their wedding day.
For Boilerwoman that she may take her strength from the Lord.
For Jentlydoesit and her DP that God may bring good into a difficult situation. Giving thanks for the new job.
For Swaliswan and dd2.
For Onlyjoking in this season of remembrances and for the children who are suffering more now than a year ago.
For Clockface with exciting changes to come.

And at this stage, sisters, I call you together to prayer for one another.
You know who you are - beloved of the Lord.

Praying for the family of baby Anna.

Please pray for Peter, things are very VERY difficult financially for him, and this could affect his next appeal, as his last appeal to stay was turned down. I saw him yesterday and he is finding it very difficult, but trusts in the Lord to provide.

edges slowly in

May I come and offer prayers for all those on here who need them?

And ask a selfish little one that I can trust in the Lord more and stop trying to plan everything when we really don't know what's going to happen after the end of August.

MrsSeanBean · 22/06/2009 22:16

Praying for all who need help / comfort.

I found great comfort yesterday at church in the words of Jesus quoted in our sermon - 'Why are you still afraid? Where is your faith?'

I suffer a lot from anxiety and panic, despite prayers to be healed of this. These words seemed to be telling me that I need to trust and pray more, and at the same time that there is sufficient grace - so thank you for this thread, which has confirmed this meditation for me.

MaryBS · 23/06/2009 08:16

MrsSB, that's just how I felt about Sunday's gospel reading and sermon.

Good morning all. Prayers for Peter, that he will know God's peace and grace, whatever the outcome - and that our gracious God will be sovereign in his situation. Prayers too that Peter he will find spiritual, practical and financial help whilst he is in the UK.

MrsSB - (Another anxiety sufferer here!) I can thoroughly recommend "Calm my Anxious Heart" by Linda Dillow, which explores that theme very thoroughly and prayerfully - lent to me by another MNetter, though I have now passed it on.

Prayers for little Anna's family after her devestating accident. (Ilovegrapenuts - did she simply fall from an ordinary bed?)

Leannabanana, if you are around - any news/update on your little neice?

Hi PandaG (how's Worzella these days?) Mufti, and everyone else.

God bless all.

Notquitegrownup · 23/06/2009 09:58

Hello to CC too, if anyone is in touch with her. And FAQ, (whom I have seen posting so know she is alright!)

LovingtheSilverFox · 23/06/2009 12:43

Hello All, have only just got time to update again. The baptism went so well, everything ran smoothly and everybody had a great time. The children's entertainer went down a storm, I hadn't seen him before and was trusting a recommendation. So glad I did! If anyone wants a children's entertainer in/around Essex, please let me know and I will pass on his details (that's how good he was). And I can recommend a venue for a party too!

I will definately try to get some Shirley Hughes books, we are trying new bedtime routine, so bedtime stories are always good. Please pray for the routine, we are trying to get something established in the (vain) hope that it might ease the house move for her.

Will try to put some photos on my profile so you can see my bundles of joy!

I am so very sorry to hear about baby Anna, may the Lord hold her close to His breast.

Is there any update about Findlay?

Thank you all so much for your prayers and best wishes on Sunday. xxx

LovingtheSilverFox · 23/06/2009 12:55

Ok, that was easy! There are now some photos on my profile.

DutchOma · 23/06/2009 13:29

Notquitegrownup · 23/06/2009 23:05

Evening all. Ladies, could I ask for your prayers for ds1 and for me, please? He is tired - it's end of school year and is either very excited or very ratty - particularly with me. He's growing up and very resentful of my authority. Prayers that I can be a calm, loving steadying influence please (rather than a ratty, slightly hysterical mum and that he will find a good outlet for his anger/pent up energy.

MaryBS · 24/06/2009 14:48

Prayers for patience for ALL our families, I think we are all struggling with our youngsters...

Thanks for all your compliments about the pics . MJIM - the twins names are Elizabeth and Alexandra, Charlotte (DD1) couldn't say Elizabeth at first, and was calling her Bellybeth. Needless to say it has stuck!

Praying for patience for all, I know that DCs can make you wish for a longer tether sometimes!

I would also like to give thanks, my girls made me so proud today - DTs were really well behaved, and DD1 came second in her races, and also helped the youngest age group to second place in the relay. Got a little teary, she took it so seriously, but looked soooo tiny next to some of the older children. Its her birthday tomorrow as well, and the last three years have just flown!
