Thank you so much Captain Dippy. What a lot there is to pray about, good job we have a great God, who hears all our prayers before we've even spoken them.
Please keep on praying for Janipher as her situation is in no way secure and it is possible that 'they' (whoever the nameless 'they' are) will try to sneak her onto a plane before any of us know about it. She needs to be given political asylum to stay here indefinitely with her children before we can get into the business of supporting her after the terrible ordeal she has been through. There is a link with lots of info on the breast an bottle feeding thread

mumtogusnalbie · 01/06/2007 15:08

once again thankyou Dippy for the great round-up.

Just a quick update, I am still having the panic attacks and generally struggling with life. DS1 5th birthday party tomorrow so added pressure there. GP has now put me onto 5mg of Buspirone 3 times a day alongside the 40mg of Citalopram and the diazapam if needed. Feel like a walking drug machine at the moment but have been able to function a little better since taking the Buspirone (started yesterday).

Please all continue to pray for me, I have been signed off from work for a further month so hopefully in that time I will find some healing and will start to feel a bit calmer and capable.

God Bless you all
xxxx

Ooo - just thought I'd better pop on to say we're still here and doing well. Takunda feeding very well - but in 'clusters' but then sleeps for a decent length of time inbetween whiles.

Up until the last day or 2 he'd only sleep in my or DH's arms, but we've now progressed to him sleeping in the chair with the blanket I've been holding him in while feeding wrapped around him.......seems to like being at a slight angle rather than flat.

Nighttimes he's in with me which is fine (DH in the spare room ) atm, but pray that we can get the sleeping in the carrycot/bed cracked sometime soon........

DH is being, well he's just being amazing, completely doting on Takunda and I can hardly believe how 'against' the whole pg he was at the start .

Right - off to lie on the sofa for a few more minutes before DS3 wakes up for another 1- 1 1/2hrs of cluster feeding.........

Roseylea · 01/06/2007 21:15

Helloooooo!

Just a quick one to say hi and I am back from sunny Norfolk! We had a lovely week away and apart from Monday when it rained and rained, the weather was pretty good - we played on the beach with the dcs a lot and had loads of fun. It was just what we needed!

We went to Norwich Cathedral and I was totally inspired by Julian of Norwich, an illiterate Norwich woman in the 1300s who had visions of Jesus and got them all written down - they are amazing.

Anyway must go for now - lovely to see you all again!

God bless xxx

harrisey · 01/06/2007 21:54

OP posts:
worzella · 01/06/2007 23:52

I think i am just coming out of it! Dd (dc3) is almost 10 months - the a level marking is to extend my mat leave as long as possible.

Shame on you saying bleugh to maths

Where's Mary when you need her?!!

harrisey · 02/06/2007 00:58

Worz I'm about to start marking Higher Geography (eq to AS level) - dunno how many papers, about 300 I think.

Owwch!

Roseylea · 02/06/2007 07:47

Hello everyone again!

Exam marking....hmmm, I could do that next year (I used to teach secondary English) - is it reasonably well paid? How did you get in to it Harrissey and Worzella?

CD thanks for doing the new thread - so are we going to have a weekly thread then? CD if it's too much for you to do it all, we could have some sort of rota going where we take it in turns to do a prayer roundup?

Hi Matilda - so glad that you have posted here. I read your other thread and have benpraying for you. Can I ask where you live (roughly)?

Just something about my prayer requests - I'm not starting ordination training, I'm starting what they call in the CofE a 'discernment process' which is where you offer yourself and then are scrutinised by various people (inc. a pyschologist) and have numerous interviews that can take well over a year or two to complete, and then at the end of all that you may or may not ne 'recommended for training'. So it's a long haul before you even start the training and it's going to be quite a few years before they let me wear a dog collar! I just wanted to clarify that because it's somewhere in the back of my mind that you can get arrested for impersonating a vicar!

CaptainDippySuperBoobs · 02/06/2007 08:29

Hello! Hope all you marking goes well, harrisey & Worz - Yes, Rosey - DH & I were thinking about poss doing some marking to earn a bit of extra cash next year (I did English degree & DH did Maths - Bleurgh!! ) Don't think it is that well paid though - couple of quid per paper, correct me if I am wrong guys!!?

  • Sorry about getting yout training details wrong, Rosey - tbh, I got a bit dazed & tired while doing the summary & got in a bit of a muddle - Thank you for clarifying though & LOL @ being arrested for impersonating a Vicar!!

I'll see how doing a weekly thread / summary goes & if it gets too much, the rota sounds like a great idea - Do I have any willing volunteers!!?

Best go & have a shower .....

please can this little one be added to your prayers

harrisey · 02/06/2007 10:31

Marking -- I got a panicked phonecall from the exam board 2 days before the meeting PLEADING with me to mark as they were so short of people.
To begin with I didnt earn much but it has gone up a lot and I will earn roughly £600 for about 50 hours work - it comes out at about £10/hr. You are really slow to start with and think you will never do it inthe time allotted but i gets faster as you get into it.

I like it - though I earn nothing like as much as my dh (he's a GP and earns that in about 10 hours work) it keeps my hand in as not currently teaching, it is MY money and I like earning something myself, and its quite amusing seeing what people have written!

harrisey · 02/06/2007 10:32

the pnicked phonecall was 7 years ago!! Have been doing it that long.

CaptainCaveman · 02/06/2007 12:16

CD you remain an inspiration to me, I have no idea how you put that prayer list together every month - but Thank you

Am in need of a good kicking if anyone would oblige? One of my best friends announced her 2nd pg last night when we were all in the pub - and I'm finding it hard to be happy for them because I'm so envious. Not a nice feeling and not one I'm proud of, I want to cry and shout and scream. Not feeling terribly grown up about this....... Rubbish, rubbish rubbish.

MTGAA - are you having counselling or therapy with your meds? Really feeling for you, and sending huge hugs.

ZipadiSuzy · 02/06/2007 12:32

CC - I understand how you feel, I can't have children and used to hear everyones good news with lumps in my throat, and I was always chosen to be god-mother, supposed to be some sort of consolation I was always honoured but that gut/heart ache feeling is horrible when you want a baby yourself soooo much!

This time next year you'll be there you've got that nice holiday to have first!!!!!

ZipadiSuzy · 02/06/2007 12:33

CC - and I wouldn't dare kick you!
