It's my birthday today.

I just received a message saying:

Congradulations on your birthday.

Yes 'shoo in' now almost always rendered as 'shoe in'. Maybe conflated with 'shoe in the door', which would sometimes be appropriate as in the above.

No you're not. What is making it worse is not using the 'quote' function so I had nothing better to do than to go back and find which post you said 'yes, I’m the poster formerly known as Catpiece' in.

Had a look round a small garden centre yesterday. They were selling hellebours.

Might be a typo. Helleborus are delightful.
