I’ve just googled it, and it appears to be a thing! Not sure what the author intended, out of context, though. Might well have been something completely different!

In the NY Times quiz Connections today: 'vischyssoise' instead of 'vichyssoise'. Surely someone is paid to check these things?
I was looking for a set of four words with an extra 's' etc. Nope. It was in a group of 4 things to make with potatoes...
