It’s Asterix!

I know - it’s a little joke…a play on words, mispronunciations and misspellings being the bread and butter of Pedants’ Corner -Asterix/asterisk? Obviously missed the mark. Many apologies…Wink

Whosthetabbynow · 16/08/2026 10:27

He addressed his readers "lady's and gentleman".

MagpiePi · 18/08/2026 14:48

Just seen on MN, responce, sence and explination.

Also, 'Hope you can send me some wise words of wisdom' ....as opposed to some stupid words of wisdom?

SueBlime · 19/08/2026 14:36

jamp

Whosthetabbynow · 19/08/2026 16:41

Someone I was speaking to today told me that her son was being given ‘maternity’ leave by his employer as his partner had just had a baby.

Whosthetabbynow · 19/08/2026 18:48

He was ‘adiment’

KhaleesiLikeSundayMorning · 20/08/2026 12:31

The sun is ‘reflexing of’ the raindrops

Just nosing about online and I’ve seen that someone is setting off from John O Gross to run the length of the country.

JuliettaCaeser · 21/08/2026 07:10

Freezing your eggs is not full proof.

She ran about with wonton abandon.

She doesn’t understand the eticate of the situation.

All seen in last 24 hours.

Howinthehelldidthishappen · 21/08/2026 09:12

Seen this morning on Facebook someone discussing a bright yellow spot that was 'puss field'

Whosthetabbynow · 21/08/2026 11:20

I got it!

AlbieJiggered · 21/08/2026 16:26

Seen on MN today, "...they will get absolutely wreaked,..."
Wreaked means to cause or inflict harm or chaos, while wrecked refers to something that has been physically damaged or destroyed.

Vroomfondleswaistcoat · 21/08/2026 16:28

The use of the past tense of verbs seems to be slipping. I've just seen my second 'digged' in a week.

And pique. To pique. One has one's interest piqued. Not peaked. FFS.

Sorry, I'm having a cross day.

From mn 'catabolic collapse' - what on earth is that???
