An update on the doctored pop-ins - I received an e-mail from 4andnotout, and I have sewed the flaps back on. Bizarrely, they don't fit as well now - I think the fabric is strange (due to the waterproofing no doubt) and slippy. DH says they look like some sort of dodgy insurance claim or fraud. Spot the insurance claim/small scale fraud lawyer...

Will deal with the sorting and packing tomorrow (goodness, I sound like santa!) and will be in touch!

jinglebelles · 17/12/2008 21:53

what using as wipes?? am running short now DD FF1

Essie3 · 17/12/2008 21:58

Cut up and hemmed muslins.

That's for Jinglebelles!

VeeBee3 · 17/12/2008 22:04

MatNan The pads are too small in legnth. They are prefolds made to fit both the small and medium outers but they don't fit the medium cradle and so come out at either front or back and cause leaks. Mothercare have told me to take them into the store and see a manager. Fingers crossed, don't really want to have to spend more money on smart system if i can help it. Its a manufacturing fault i think.

jinglebells thanks will let you know once i've seen the manager in the next day or so.

ilovelovemydog · 17/12/2008 22:16

swampster - oooh! A trial and I don't know about it??? Hints please....

thebluefoxategreensocks · 17/12/2008 22:17

jinglebelles: cheap face cloths are fab for wipes! I got some clearance ones from Tesco about 8-12 months ago - I think they ended up about 4 for 50p and they're great to have around....even make great boosters inside pockets, along with microfibre! I think I got about 25-30 and thought I was silly having so many, but they have lots of uses. Maybe you can find some in a pound store or something?

ilovelovemydog · 17/12/2008 22:19

rhinestone you mean you used a laundry service? What's the shame in that?

I'd use one if DD/DS wasn't hyper sensitive to detergent. We have to use Surcare unscented....

SwampsterQuakesAtTheSight · 17/12/2008 22:35

Send me an email ilovelovemydog, and I'll forward the message I got.

An anecdote...
My mum is going to be looking after my DS 2 days a week. She's all for the washable nappies (a veteran of pins!) but said she wasn't going to muck around with silly washable wipes. I offered to buy some wipes for her, and she said no, sorry to be so old fashioned and behind the time but it's facecloths in this house...

SwampsterQuakesAtTheSight · 17/12/2008 22:45

...

ilovelovemydog · 17/12/2008 22:52

TLESinChristmasStockings · 17/12/2008 22:56

treedelivery · 18/12/2008 12:09

Waves to everyone!!

having a bit of a crapoola time these last few days. But wanted to pop in. Off to bed as working tonight. Yawning at the thought of it!

heather1980 · 18/12/2008 12:54

hello all, i've just placed and order for some new nappies to try at night (from nappyzones site).
i've gone for a drybee night, a fuzzibunz and a bumhugger, i've also ordered a baby beehinds. anyone else use these and what do you think of them?

SwampsterQuakesAtTheSight · 18/12/2008 12:58

I am Baby Beehinds' biggest fan - Great for night, AGES to dry but LOVELY - my favourite nappy EVER! I just wish they still did the gorgeous coloured ones.

Like Bumhuggers, but not nearly as much. Tempted by Fuzzibunz but tried one... YET .

TLESinChristmasStockings · 18/12/2008 13:18

Heather, I love bumhuggers. I have some for sale!!! lol (hint hint)

cass66 · 18/12/2008 14:38

Can I jump in and ask a daft question please?? Although I've been using real nappies for a while, I've never had brand new ones. But I have just bought and received some new bamboo lollipop ones (will get £30 back from our council so worth doing).

Do I need to wash them????

thanks, Cass.

wenceslasmyeducation · 18/12/2008 14:42

Yes, you'll definitely need to wash them, not sure how many times, but at least two or three times I would have thought.

cass66 · 18/12/2008 14:45

thanks. I should also ask, do I wash them with washing liquid, or just water?? I know, really daft question, sorry!!

bearhug · 18/12/2008 15:39

Hi, can I join this thread? DS is 12 weeks old and we've been using Little Lamb's Bamboo nappies for 10 weeks now. (except when we're out and about, as I draw the line at carting dirty nappies around with me until we get home!

The main problem we have with these nappies is that the wraps leak where the Little Lamb logo label is sown in at the front. DS keeps having damp patches at the front of his vests, which is sort of anoying. Is there a way to stop this? Or should I just change wraps?

thebluefoxategreensocks · 18/12/2008 16:53

bearhug: Try Mothereaes Airflow wraps! :-) That's what I tell everyone! But really, if you have other wraps leaking, try the ME ones and I think your problem will be solved!
