Hi all.
Hi Lollipop - so sorry your nappies aren't back with you yet. We've been ill, and then Seb had bronchialitis (sp?) so between being ill then back and forwards to hospital with little man, nothing has been done. Didn't even get to do Christmas shopping
So hope you forgive the delay with your nappies. Have seen you are selling your lovables though. If you like, I can buy the one you lent me and send you the money direct? Will still send the hugger back though. Again, apologies for not sending back yet, it's been an absolute disaster here the last month.

lollipopmother · 08/01/2009 17:11

AnnVan Don't sweat it, as long as you're all well that's what matters. Is Seb ok now? He's far too young to be going to the hosp the poor little mite I'll email you now.

AnnVan · 08/01/2009 18:24

THanks Lollipop He is much improved. Still coughing and snotty but at least he's not struggling to breathe. It was horrible seeing his little chest pulling in with every breath. Feels like we've been ill forever though. Just start getting over one thing when we catch something else.

Hi - I have a question. Just started using cloth nappies for ds (14 mths) So far have a blueberry and a popper. Do you buy individual nappies together with liners, or lots of weashable liners? IE Does each washable liner go with each nappy?

babyjjbaby · 08/01/2009 18:40

al the washable liners fit any nappy u like

rusmum · 08/01/2009 19:28

ceb80 · 08/01/2009 19:55

TheLadyEvenstar · 08/01/2009 20:14

treedelivery · 08/01/2009 20:15

Sorry to hear of all the sicky dc's out there. It's been an awful autumn of nasty horrible lingering bug. Hopefully the cold winter coming will quiten down all the infections.

Lollipop am looking at your naps too, but I think I have enough really......how much sml sandy's?? Mum's offered to cover things I think are good buys iyswim. And everyone seems to love sandy's!!

Did you have some for sale evenstar ages ago?

I need more opinions on my stash list a few pages back, now there are some seasoned experts about.....

rusmum · 08/01/2009 20:17

thebluefoxategreensocks · 08/01/2009 21:46

Wah! What do I do with my nappies?! As I said earlier, Benjamin has diarrhoea (sounds like maybe it's the Norwalk Virus). Anyway, he's had several nasty nappies today. So after thoroughly rinsing out nappies in toilet and sink before putting them in bucket, I put the in washing machine - first for 25 min prewash, then 15 min rinse cycle, before going on to 60 degree wash. So, now I open washing machine, and I get awful smell out - not to mention nappies still stained! Boo Hoo! Did nearly think of putting him in disposies so as to not stain nappies, but didn't want to have explosive leaks everywhere. I mean, I can live with staining on my nappies (as will eventually fade) but the smell is awful! (Sorry TMI!) Guess I'll put them on the full 2.25hr 60 degree cycle now and see what they're like in the morning.

4andnotout · 08/01/2009 21:55

Have you tried bicard to neutralise the smell?

4andnotout · 08/01/2009 21:57

bicarbonate of soda

TheLadyEvenstar · 08/01/2009 21:57

ROFLMAO 4ANDOUT I thought you typed BACARDI

hmmm me thinks i should pay more attention

thebluefoxategreensocks · 08/01/2009 22:05

no, I haven't...maybe I should try that! Was going to put vinegar in, but maybe I'll try your suggestion instead.

TheLadyEvenstar · 08/01/2009 22:06

is that ok?

thebluefoxategreensocks · 08/01/2009 22:15

ummm, I think people say it can make your elastic perish eventually...if too much is used, or too often. I previously used it all the time, but haven't used it except occasionally more recently. Guess I've been more afraid to ruin pocket nappies, whereas the Little Lamb seconds I used all the time before weren't so expensive/important to replace! It's mainly Fluffles that I've got problems with tonight...and can't so easily replace them, esp not the old style ones, which I love!

LackaDAISYcal · 08/01/2009 22:41

what's happening?

getting into the swing of totsbots now, but bumble only gets through about four a day! absorbent or what.

ilovelovemydog; if you talk to MNHQ nicely and explain how stoopid rash you were they might reinstate you with your original name

lollipopmother · 08/01/2009 22:57

Ceb80 - All wraps are size small, it says 6-12lb but my DD is a skinny mini 13lber and she's still on the smallest stomach and middle leg poppers. I've got two savannah animals and one plain white, all pristine condition, all £5 each as only worn a handful of times.

Rusmum - Nappy pics are here. Prices are:

Hip Hip Baby Wonderoos (not including inserts) - From left to right:
Pink (used once, prestine), Butter (handful of times, prestine), Lilac (handful of times, prestine) - £8
Blue, Red, Bluebell, Seaspray (all well used, leg elastic is a bit weaker than brand new but never had a leak with dd who wore these from 10lb to 13lb, all have light stains, some only if you squint!) - £4£4

Inserts for Wonderoos:
4 x Hemp 'Wonderfulls' (possibly not the real Wonderfulls mind you, I've never had anything to compare with) by The Natural Company (possibly not up to absorbency yet as only used a couple of times, prestine) - £5 each
3 x Single popper mf 'Wonderfulls' (thick and new, only used a handful of times, not got any company tags on, possibly the odd light stain) - £4
5 x Double popper mf Wonderfulls (tags say Wonderfulls) that are old and thin and no longer white in colour but perfectly absorbent - £3

1 x S Ella's House Hemp natural aplix - pre-washed only - £5
5 x S Ella's House Hemp poppers - GUC - £3
2 x S Ella's House Hemp colours aplix - very well used hence - £2

2 x S pink Tots Bots cottons - they have two tongues 1 fleece 1
cotton. Aplix. Very lightly used so VGC, bit crunchy but
will soften up as I'm from a very hard water area. Huge
amount of life left in them - £4 each.

5 pink and 3 blue Loveables, I'd like to sell 5 over all but don't mind which ones. Pink = £5.50 Blue = £4.

1 x Medium WeeNotions side snap, pink and white dot minkee, prestine cream fleece inner - £7

I am also selling Sandy's, unsure how many I have at the moment.

lollipopmother · 08/01/2009 23:05

Ceb80 - Hun I think it'd be easier to email me on lollipopmother at yahoo dot co dot uk so we can talk nappies, I'm happy to assist you in finding suitable things for a newborn.

Treedelivery - I'll email you about the Sandy's and your list!

Rachel - Personally I think I'd put my LO in disposables if she had the shits, stick an airflow over the top to stop it escaping. If your washing machine smells you might need to do a service wash (90 degrees with nothing in it).

Daisy - Hellooo! How's your LO doing? And how are you, not seen you around for a while!

thebluefoxategreensocks · 08/01/2009 23:20

lollipopmother: Not so sure it's actually the washing machine that's smelling, as it's still full of the nappies! LOL I opened it to hang them out & the smell hit me. But doing rinses now with bicarb and going to put some in again for a full 2.25hr 60 degree wash now while we sleep, so we'll see what they're like in the morning!

treedelivery · 08/01/2009 23:25

Thats a good idea putting a wrap over a dispo for the mega poops - will store that for the event whenit comes!

Rachel - try putting the washer on a wash empty with bicarb, might cheer it up a bit?

LackaDAISYcal · 08/01/2009 23:27

I have been mostly on my PN thread.....too busy for much else.

DS is gorgeous, but sadly nocturnal. I can't even think most days, i'm sooo tired. We are just getting him off to sleep now on DH's lap and then he and I co-sleep with poor DH (smoker) on the sofa. getting recurrent mastitis in my left boob which is no fun He is a very different baby from DS1 and DD who were both no bother and sleeping through by 6 weeks.

how are you and your lovely DD? (photos are gorgeaous btw) . I'm pmsl at the nappy stash you are selling! you got addicted pretty darn quickly didn't you?

I exchange the odd hello with BBM on fb. I'm going to send her a proper message soon though to make sure all is well so Ill pass on a big hello. Life has been a bit shit for her recently.

will catch up soon, but i seem to have missed a right old hoo ha!
