Essie3 · 30/09/2008 21:49

I have my Modern Baby ones - old style, shaped nappy & wrap.

I thought I could sell them in packs of 5 nappies, + newborn wrap + small wrap.
£35 sound ok?

You can use the nappy longer by putting the 's' wrap on it as baby grows.
My thinking was that's a day's worth of nappies and you don't need to change the wrap.
They're good, have a built in fleece liner so baby is dry to the touch. I found they contained everything well - leaks were rare.

Mint condition, and they're cute - gingham. I have every colour except pink.
I have lots and lots of these nappies! Name your number!

Hard sell or what?

rusmum · 30/09/2008 21:53

LOL

problem is I dont know what i want/need.. there are so many. i didnt realise it was so confusing. LOL will they be too small for dd (11.5lb)

rusmum · 30/09/2008 21:57

Essie ps not sure what a modern baby is!!!!!

Ceolas · 30/09/2008 21:59

Why don't you try one or two of each and see how you get on? All the nappies you've been offered might not end up being your all-time favourint, but are reliable enough.

Ceolas · 30/09/2008 22:00

modern baby

rusmum · 30/09/2008 22:01

Ceolas sounds like a good plan!!!!!

rusmum · 30/09/2008 22:02

are they all in ones (no wrap??) ceolas

babyjjbaby · 30/09/2008 22:02

i wouldn't stick to one type of nappy cos even when u only have the ones u like u will probably end up wanting different nappies for different times

Ceolas · 30/09/2008 22:06

the modern baby nappies? No you need a wrap, but essie is selling them too.

Ceolas · 30/09/2008 22:07

Size 1s of any type will usually last until about 8/9 months at least. My DD has just grown out of her size 1 bimbles at 12 months but she's a bit titchy!

LackaDAISYcal · 30/09/2008 22:08

wow it's been chatty here. Just popping in to say Hi so it's further up my list.

I have a stinking cold and feel bloody miserable and can't take anything for it....paracetomol just doesn't cut it somehow.

just over 5 weeks to go till my EDD....yikes. but I got all my newborn nappies out of the attic and have been cooing over them.

hope the new babies are doing well; the mad feeding will be the 3weeks growth spurt. Just keep repeating the mantra "this too shall pass". It should all settle down in a few more weeks and then you can get into some sort of routine

Welcome back BBM; you have been missed

rusmum · 30/09/2008 22:10

so basically - i need 15 (ish) nappies of different types (3 of 5 types??)

Do I need wraps as have cottn bottoms and just ordered 3 rikkis!!

babyjjbaby · 30/09/2008 22:12

rikis are very good wraps i like airflow the cotton bottoms wraps u would probably have to use the large size on a shaped nappy

rusmum · 30/09/2008 22:13

it gets more confusing by the day!! lol

Ceolas · 30/09/2008 22:15

Even 3 rikkis should be enough to juggle. I wouldn't buy any more wraps just now. Have you looked on usednappies? Like ebay for second hand nappies. You can usually get one or two of a particular type.

chilledmama · 30/09/2008 22:17

My local waitrose is getting rid of all there real nappies so I've managed to pick up loads of wraps for friends (and me) for next to nothing. Airflow wraps for £2.50!!!

Essie3 · 30/09/2008 22:18

Thanks Ceolas for filling in!

Rusmum I'd say 20 nappies minimum - in this house it's averaging 5 a day, and I don't want to wash every day (besides I'd then be running a machine half full). I use bamboo nappies which take longer to dry and I've just bought some more because I live in Wales...
Daisy welcome back and the nappies came yesterday, thanks! They are in beautiful condition!

With wraps, depends what kinds of nappies you have. I used 1 wrap per day with the Modern Baby ones.

Ceolas · 30/09/2008 22:19

If I were you I'd try a few of a cotton nappy like Little Lambs, Tots Bots or Easy Peasy Bimbles. I think they're all pretty reliable and effectively just shaped terry nappies. They'll all work well with your wraps too.

If you want to try bamboo there's Bambinex, Tots Bots Bamboozles and Little Lamb and Easy Peasy also do them.

There are other fabrics like microfibre and hemp, but probably not worth worrying about just now.
