DD just threw up what I can only assume was the whole contents of her stomach, she'd fed about 5mins before. I can't believe how much came out, it was everywhere, i'm still in shock at the volume that came out, and the fact that it looked all lumpy.

I have Sandy's, Fluffles, Tots Bots Originals, one Kiwi Quick Flip, some Kissaluvs and one Bumhugger. The Kissaluvs and Sandy's look massive, the others don't look so big but I haven't tried them on except for the Fluffles and Sandy's. I was given some newborn cotton bottoms wraps which are tiny. All in all I don't feel particularly lucky with the nappies at the moment, I can't even find a disposable that holds poo in.

sunflower78 · 29/09/2008 23:05

lollipop - that's what we call baby cheese in our house... got covered in it earlier, as maia will only fall asleep at the breast, after she's had her full feed, she went on for over an hour just latching on, falling asleep, waking and screaming (both of us crying after a while..) as soon as I put her in her crib until I pick her up, throwing up, and then again... guess it's an improvement on the 3 hours from last night, really upset I keep on missing DS's bedtime story, feel so guilty I haven't much time with him, especially now he's at school...

only had poo leak with the fluffles, but sandy's, pop-in and disposables have been fine so far. haven't tried the wonderoo as it's massive still.

Off to express now... the glamourous joys of motherhood.

Rusmum I have
bambinex Teddies with Airflowwraps, a few bamboo nappies, which I'm not as keen on, and a few fluffles for night nappies which I'm loving.

Annvan - which fluffles do you have - nippa/velcro/poppers? I have popper ones and they're the only ones that leaked poo despite not being wet through... thinking of buying a nappynippa to try with them... otherwise will have to sell them...

AnnVan · 30/09/2008 08:58

Sunflower - my Flufles are nippa fastening. Have not had any leaks so far with them

Essie3 · 30/09/2008 10:16

On the sick front - hark at me, all expert with a 3 month old...
My DS vomited a lot when he was a week old, and we eventually landed in hospital completely unnecessary. It's really disturbing (for mums), but nothing to lose sleep over unless it continues etc. In DS' case it was my milk coming in at speed, and him overfeeding. Try expressing a smidge off before feeding?
(And like they say on medicine packets etc: consult a (medical) doctor if symptoms persist' )

Nappies: my pop ins are v. good on poo leaks. As in, I don't have any. I sometimes get wet leaks though, mainly when DS has been sitting on my knee or in the car seat with legs spread (!). Mind you, in the early days the poo is pretty regular so you'd have to have loads of pop ins!!

BigBadMousey · 30/09/2008 10:54

Hello folks - blimey too much to catch up on but I'll give it a go!

Annvan - Glad to hear the mums backtracking on the cloth issue - I still have several who are still a bit about my choice (as if it is any of their business anyway!).

knickers - I saw your for sale thread - I hope you either manage to sell them all or get things solved.

babyjj - Did you get those ones on ebay? I can only find 2 x 60cm here and I'm using them - god only knows where the others have gone

rusmum - I have some bamboozles here going cheap. They are the right size for you - seems a shame for them to be sitting here unused but DS is definitely a Sandy's boy!

lollipop - I have the same issues here with DS. He definitely has Silent Reflux. There is an interesting website here that might be of some help and I found this section of kellymom invaluable for when he first started getting problems. Don't worry about the throwin up - DS did that about once or twice a week until he was about 10wo - now he just keeps me busy with his reflux. Sometimes they have just overfed - although last time he did it it was because I put him on the floor facing the wrong way. I forget hopw sloping the floors are in our old place as I'm used to it but I put him facing the wrong way and he brought up all his breakfast - he was lying head down at a 30 degree angle . It scares me to death when he brings up so much though - seems like loads! I'm mamzed I had that much in me in the first place!

sunflower - I remember the guilt of missing things with DD1 when I had DD2 - I think it was worse for me than for DD1. Nippa-ing your popper fluffle sounds like a god idea. Popper fluffles are definitely more prone to leaks. My nippa fit one never does. Don't buy a nippa though - I've got loads here and if you let me know you address I'll pop one in the post for you sillious_soddus at hotmal dot co dot uk

Sorry if I have missed anyone - DS is asleep (woohoo) so I'm off to do some housework before he wakes up in 5 mins (little monster has been using my norks as a teething ring all night so hopefully he is tired and will let me have 10 mins for good behaviour )

BigBadMousey · 30/09/2008 10:58

rotfl at my typos! It reads like the English policeman in 'Allo Allo' ....I bet you are all too young to know what I'm talking about .

AnnVan · 30/09/2008 11:42

BBM - I do know 'Allo 'Allo - Good meauning - sorry don't know how to spell the weird pronunciations My only problem with it is they only ever seem to show the episode with the picture hidden in the sausage, and then the mixup with all the other sausages. Gets a little repetitive. Think it's the only one I've managed to see, but have seen it a dozen times

Sebastian was sick on me a couple of times yesterday. Lady at bf support group says he has a cold, as the sick was all mucousy. Apparently it's the only way they have of getting it out oftheir systems. So Sebastian has his first cold at two weeks old, given to him by his auntie.

sunflower78 · 30/09/2008 12:25

BBM thanks !!! just e-mailed you! Hopefully it'll work as Small Sandy's are still too big so 4 XS Sandys and 1 pop-in don't last long with a newborn...

babyjjbaby · 30/09/2008 13:20

bbm yeh got 10 of them off ebay for £17.45 with 3 nippas they are luvly

BigBadMousey · 30/09/2008 14:00

AnnVan - I usually see the one with the 'stolen madonna with the big boobies' . I hope Sebastian makes a quick recovery - are you BF?. My DS had his first cold at a week old he has had five now I think and he is only just 4mo . They were pressies from his big sisters - DD1 gave DD2 chicken pox at 7 weeks old - we are a very generous family .

sunflower - Nippa should arrive tomorrow - hope it works!

BigBadMousey · 30/09/2008 14:01

babyjj - excellent, glad you found some in the end. They are nice aren't they!

sunflower78 · 30/09/2008 16:48

BBM thank you!! will let you know tomorrow then!

rusmum · 30/09/2008 19:36

sorry girls. who had what for sale????

Lost the plot!!!!!!

babyjjbaby · 30/09/2008 19:45

what weight is ur lil one and i will see if i have got any nappys which i don't use lol

chilledmama · 30/09/2008 19:54

I have a whole load of Kushie Ultras for sale but if I'm honest they're no where near as good as ANY 2 part nappy. I moved onto Bumbles which arfe wonderful and have never leaked and are truly a birth to potty nappy!

Ceolas · 30/09/2008 20:07

Is there a massive difference between terries then? I have about 3-4 Mothercare ones that are OKish in an emergency and a Bright Bots one that is much more absorbent, but bulkier and difficult to get a neat fold (amateur folder however!).

Are the little ewes the ones with the satin hems?

chilledmama · 30/09/2008 20:11

I've tried sandys, bumbles and a bamboo one by tots bots. All 3 are very good but the bumbles are birth to potty and soft on little bottoms even when you live in a hard water area.

The Kushies were Ok but unreliable and DS soaked through them really quickly...I just wasn't brave enough to go for a 2 part system but really wish I had from the outset!

babyjjbaby · 30/09/2008 20:18

ceolas i like the mothercare ones cos they are quick to dry and luvly and slim but the littleewes are really thick and fluffy gonna try them tonight probably be realy bulky on tho

BigBadMousey · 30/09/2008 20:22

rusmum - I had some bamboozles and small airflow wraps

babyjjbaby · 30/09/2008 20:31

i don't like the little ewes they are soooooooooooooooooo bulky on definitly a night nappy so have pretty much wasted £18 cos i didn't need nigh nappies

Ceolas · 30/09/2008 20:46

How old is your LO, babyjj?

babyjjbaby · 30/09/2008 20:48

5mths they r huge bearing in mind i think a tots bots is bulky i like nice slim nappies lol

rusmum · 30/09/2008 21:15

babyj are they for night may buy from you as got nothing for night. DD is 11.5 lb

BBM what size bamboozles? what you want for them???

Someone remind me what a 2 part is?? Are my pre folds a 2 part???
