thats better, in tippitoes.

anyway, yes dont know whats happened but is not wanting feeding until 3-4 hours and my boobs are bustin. then wanting regular ones in the night. back to front me thinks. or - if she feeds fully in the day, which i feel she is doing now she's not snacking, she may just be better at night. hmmm, we'll see. been like this for a couple of days anyway.

impressed others at m&b today with our sitting. p[proud mummy]

just found out today that fil is staying tonight. my sister has only just left so gotta change the sheets i also have a stinking cold. havent had one like this for years. and i was just saying yesterday how i havent had a cold for years. typical. must have caught it from dd. either that or she;ll get it off me now.

god, she loves her tippitoes

glad you had a good time linnet.

kbaby, there is a baby our d's age at m&b who weighs just 10lb. dont worry.

Egypt · 19/10/2004 17:12

oh forgot, received your movie thank you libb. what a sweetie

cat82 · 19/10/2004 17:13

Ooh Egypt at the sitting, i'm not surprised you're proud! Well done DD! has she always been strong? how much does she weigh?

yes she has always been quite strong. i remember my step mil saying after her birth that she was strong as she was trying to lift her head off your shoulder then. she has always loved being on her feet too. held her weight whilst holding onto her hands for q a long time now. now all of a sudden sitting!

Egypt · 20/10/2004 09:33

sorry, cat, you asked.....she weighs 16lb 4oz

no one about last night? i went to bed early as felt crap. couldnt sleep. dd didnt wake until 1 but i didnt sleep until 2 . then she woke at 5 then 7.45 so a good night for her. need to sleeeeeeeeeeeeeep. going to medised her again tonight as if she's feeling half as crap as i do, the poor mite must be really fed up.

SusiS · 20/10/2004 10:11

good morning everybody!!
sorry got stuck on that game accusing look at georgina

had an allright night! he still doesn't want his "nightbottle"!!!! - could that be it?? - i still make it up though; just in case
fed him 9.30 and he woke 12ish and then 2.30 (bad wind till 3ish) - got up at 6

i think he just changed the whole routine again!!! - will have an eye on that.

Egypt · 20/10/2004 10:33

ooo well done on your nights susi. sounds like the end is near!

spots · 20/10/2004 10:51

Would love to borrow some sit-ability, Egypt. A friend just lent us the most fantastic backpack carrier, a real feat of engineering, and I'm not to use it until she can sit unsupported. I think sitting must improve their lives hugely. DD gets so fed up lying down... and it's ME who suffers as I have to fetch her and carry her around with me.

I had a flash of freak-out last night as I carried her to bed. Suddenly realised HOW MUCH SHE HAS GROWN! It was as if I had a toddler on my shoulder. She is 17lbs now, and tall (?? apparently - this makes me laugh!) but that's not really what I mean... she just seems so grown up. Apart from the not sitting.

kbaby · 20/10/2004 11:04

we had our first ever sleep through the night where sedatives werent given. But i did give formula. i bf at 5.30 then bf again at 7 and gave solids with a final bf, the last one was just a drink. She then woke at 11pm so I gave her 7oz of formula. She was awake when i put her in the cot but didnt cry and just went to sleep after 30 mins. She woke at 4.30 but i got there quickly and just put the dummy in and tapped her back and she went to sleep. She woke at 6.20am. This wouldve been a fantastic night if i hadnt been sent to the spare room and been awake for 2hrs coughing.
Went to gp this am as i had a really tickly cough about 3 weeks ago and it was keeping me awake all night. the gp said i didnt have a chest infection but gave me antibiotics anyway. After a few days of being wheezy and having a yight chest it started to clear but now it seems to be back. GPsaid again that its not a infection but prob a virus. Wont give antibiotics and when i asked if i could take cough medicine she said it doesnt work anyway.
Spots i know what you mean re the growing. we watched a video of dd at only 3 days old and she was so small. She also had loads of hair so more mustve fallen out than i realised.

GeorginaA · 20/10/2004 13:28

Don't know if I've just made a horrible mistake

I've been invited to a friend's hen night early next year and I've said yes - it would involve staying away.

Thing is, I'm not sure if I'm ready to leave ds2 yet. I didn't leave ds1 overnight until he was around 15 months and even then I didn't really enjoy it (and he got a bad stomach bug while I was away so felt horribly guilty when I got back). I don't know how I'm going to feel in March though.

Will need to pay a deposit soon... but now I've said yes I don't feel I can back out.

Egypt · 20/10/2004 13:33

oh dear, join me in the prague crisis georgina. i know exactly how you feel. dont know what to say as i've not found a solution yet, going to wait until closer the time. can you wait or have you got to say definitely now?

great news on the night kbaby. i know what you mean. because of my cold i didnt sleep and dd did really well. typical.

the sitting isnt making much difference yet actually. i darent leave her on her own sitting, as she will eventually fall over, even though she is surrounded by cushions. and my mum reckons not to let her do it for long as she's only still young and her spine is still soft??!!?!?! still when i can be near to catch her she is much happier sitting than lying down. not as happy as in the door bouncer though!

GeorginaA · 20/10/2004 13:43

Well, I think I'm going to have to say fairly soon. I got a bit carried away and enthusiastic on the phone even though I don't know the bride-to-be that well anymore (old baby group friend) - it was just when I put the phone down I thought "shit... I'm not sure I can do it".

Problem is, I'd now feel really bad backtracking and saying "no actually, I don't think I can make it".

hewlettsdaughter · 20/10/2004 13:47

GA - if she's from baby group then presumably she has a baby/child of her own - surely she'd understand if you decided you decided you didn't want to go after all?

GeorginaA · 20/10/2004 13:55

Probably. Her dd is 3 years old now...

Can this Medised stuff be used for teething? dd2 seems to be really suffering with her teeth. She got up this morning at 7.30am which was fine fed her dressed her took dd1 to school came home and she seemed tired but would she go to sleep? She finally went down for a nap at 1pm and is still asleep. I think it's her teeth that's bothering her, we've been using anbesol which worked a treat for dd1 but doesn't always have the same effect on dd2. She puts her left thumb in her mouth right to the back where her molars will be and screams. She doesn't have any teeth through yet but I can only presume that her back teeth are bothering her in some way, even though she doesn't have any front teeth yet.

anyway onto happier things, I was all creative last night at tea time and cooked some apple for dd2 and she ate some of it the rest has been frozen. She was actually eating a mouthfull then opening her mouth wide for the next spoonful, wasn't happy when it was all gone, lol

Susi I think the hand blender I was looking at was a 3 in 1 in the argos book, can't afford to buy anything until the end of the month since we've just been away on holiday, on a bit of a budget until Pay day. Still apple was really easy to push through the seive so I guess I'll just feed her apple until I can buy one, lol

I finally finished the game that Georgina posted, it was fun. That was why I didn't post last night was to busy trying to finish the game, lol

Going to take dd2 to get weighed this afternoon then dd1 has a dentist appointment. It's a busy week here.

oh and dd2 doesn't like mother in law, was really strange with her last night. MIL offered to give dd2 her bottle, which she has done countless times before, but dd2 was having none of it, wanted her mum . and she cried when my brother was here and gave her a cuddle as well, funny child. Looks like she might be a mummys girl and dd1 is the daddys girl.

SusiS · 20/10/2004 14:18

bad georgina, bad georgina!!!! phewww, finally! finished that lvl13

so, what did i miss???

linnet: on box it says "for teething" (re medised) - and re blending: for potatos u can't use blender anyways (just press it through sieve) or pears are easy without blender too - or bananas

sigh we've got deff a daddysboy!!!
whenever he comes along he gets a biiiiiiig smile!

kbaby: great news on the sleeping front!!! - hope you are getting better soon.

and re growing: same here! don't they just grow up way too quickly??? i always smiled when i got told "you just watch it. soon they run about and you can't even remember how there were as little ones ..." but now i know what they all mean!!!

ds is napping now. but lately he cuts short on his morning naps! normally 2hours, now 40min
but he eats for a whole football team
breakky was cereals+peach and lunch was turkey/parsnip/sw.potato - boy did that go down - and he absolutly loves his danone joghurts!!!

Egypt · 20/10/2004 14:25

what game is that then? although dont send it as our inbox is blocked with a huuuuuge file trying to come through.. unless that is it!!!!

spots · 20/10/2004 16:56

I am a bit baffled by all this game talk too

Cat, what about this dog business then? What are you getting? Have you got a list of names and a bottom drawer full of chewy toys? And am I right in thinking that you are planning to have BOTH A TODDLER AND A PUPPY IN THE HOUSE??

Yum, I am eating Maltesers and I haven't had Maltesers for ages.

GeorginaA · 20/10/2004 17:17

Game....

Mystery of Time and Space

... don't say you weren't warned!

Funnily enough, I had maltesers for the first time in ages today as well...

cat82 · 20/10/2004 18:21

Hello all

sigh what a nice day. Nothing really happened. I didn't get stressed, Kiera didn't get stressed and i am, at the end of the day, feeling as unruffled as i did this morning. This is the first time for a long time this has happened!
We have disovered that we intensly dislike avacado, and still will only eat banana!

Spots- Yep we are indeed having the lethal cocktail of puppy and toddler next April/ may, we will be welcoming a Weimarener puppy into our, already, manic household. And i cannot wait!! I did actualy start a thread on dog names a while ago, mu partner and i can't agree, but we do know we would prefer a female doggy, and we both prefer non-human names, if that makes any sense. We have already been to pet shops looking at chewy toys and dog beds! We have both owned pooches before, but not one as big or as strong as a weimeraner, but we have ALWAYS wanted one, and we have been talking about getting one for 4 and a half years!

Ooh ooh! wierd malteser thang happening, i bought some white ones today, and i haven't had maltesers for ages!

Susi-Yeah i have a daddys girl, she can be screaming all day with me, but daddy walks in and it's grins and giggles all round.

Georgina-Hmmm tricky one, but i agree with what HD said, in that, she'd understand, having one of her own. Especialy since you don't really know her that well, you don't have too much loyalty to be there.

Hope everyone's okay!

xxxxx

Egypt · 20/10/2004 18:22

cute pic btw

Egypt · 20/10/2004 18:24

i should def tell her. she will surely understand, georgina. do it now, rather than let it worry you for ages.

cat82 · 20/10/2004 18:24

Awwwww Georgina, how sweet! Kiera still doesn't do that
