another weird malteser moment here too - a friend at work stood on my friend's maltesers, she had bought them for her little boy!

libb · 20/10/2004 18:35

cute piccie by the way GeorginaA

GeorginaA · 20/10/2004 18:59

cat - I am soooo glad you both had a good day! You're long overdue one!

Ds2 has been VERY unsettled today - I think it's teeth. He's sucking his gums, and they look very white and hard... I think I can feel the outline of two teeth on the bottom gum, so it may be they'll make and appearance at the same time. Have mediseded him tonight anyway.

Egypt - do you have Quicktime installed? If you do, sometimes it just plays up and you have to retry... I assume due to server load or something.

Thanks Georgina-I feel overdue for one as well

I hope Ds's teeth settle down, and you don't have too bad a night. 2 at the same time, poor mite. I'm sure Kiera has been rumbling with teeth for about a month now. Still no sign though

Twiglett · 20/10/2004 19:18

I had maltesers today too (from a multibag I bought by accident .. yeah right .. on sainsbury's online)

doo do doo doo .. you're entering the twilight zone (wanna type twiglett )

Twiglett · 20/10/2004 19:19

Georgina you are evil

Egypt .. you have to click in the top right corner there's a slightly paler area which brings up the menu .. that's the nature of the game .. finding stuff

GeorginaA · 20/10/2004 19:34

Okay, this is really bizarre that so many of the May Babies Mummies had maltesers today...

OP posts:
SusiS · 20/10/2004 19:40

don't you even start me on maltesers!!!! i just love'em!!! have them locked away

egypt: be prepared to forget about anything else - game game and game only

cat: well deserved that "easy going" day! - quite a handfull of a dog; but good choice

georgina: sooooo cute your lo

ds is asleep already! dp starting to complain "everytime he plays with ds, ds starts yawning and rubbing eyes - am i that boring?"
heard ds moving about and whimpering earlier; had to hold myself back not to go to him; 5min later he was settled again; on his own

cat82 · 20/10/2004 19:57

Oh susi i know. BIG handfull, but like i say, we've always wanted one. Actualy i think while kiera is less mobile would be a better time to get the puppy, but the breeder we want to use isn't mating her dof until december, and also kiera will be more robust by next may. We have a good size living room as well, and we bought a baby dan? every heard of them? They're like a three in one, baby play pen, fire guard and room divider in one. They're fantastic (kiddiecare is the best value) and it means we can keep dog and baby apart for as long as said dog in over excited puppy!

xxxx

That sounds both exciting and crazy, Cat. Aren't Weinamaras huge and brown? (At least it won't show up stains...) And I know what you mean about human names on animals. My sister used to have a guinea pig that she called Judith, which always makes me laugh. (She was only about 8 at the time). And we had friends with dogs called Amy and Bella. Hee hee!

We had an annoying day. Rainy walk in the park, and visited a friend, but DD wouldn't be put down, No, No, No, Not even for a minute. I even succumbed to the temptation of the back carrier, which worked brilliantly - she loved it - until I bent down and she bumped her forehead on the back of my head. Bearing in mind that her being able to sit wouldn't have prevented this happening, does anyone know why you aren't supposed to put them in a back carrier until they can sit??

Georgina, I am bloody well not opening that game after the press it's got so far on this thread. Don't you know I've got Work to do??

Lovely photo tho'.

Maltesers - It's like nuns all getting their periods at the same time, doncherknow.

cat82 · 20/10/2004 20:11

Spots- very crazy Weimareners are bigish, and silvery grey with amber coloured eyes sigh...

xxx

GeorginaA · 20/10/2004 20:14

cat - we've got that baby pen - it's HUGE and does take up a lot of space but we always found it very useful - even if just to bung all the toys in at the end of the day

ds1 loves playing in it now... ds2 doesn't get a look in ...

OP posts:
Judd · 20/10/2004 20:18

Our last cat was called Dave.
I had a jumbo Galaxy today but I actually have got my period as well (sharing too much ) so can I still be in the bonding gang?

Judd · 20/10/2004 20:20

Georgina - I'm sure in the Toddler Taming book, Christopher Green says that if you have a toddler annoying you, just put yourself in the playpen with a deckchair and good book whilst they trash the house around you!

cat82 · 20/10/2004 20:22

ahem i have already sat in the playpen, and dp took my picture....i had to do it!!

GeorginaA · 20/10/2004 20:32

Okay, I HAVE to show you this picture (of ds1)

Let Me Out!

OP posts:
GeorginaA · 20/10/2004 20:33

(He was 9 months in that picture, obviously, not 3 years as he is now)

OP posts:
SusiS · 20/10/2004 21:45

hehe ds is even wearing the right clothes
and i actually expected a pic of you!!!

judd: like your version of using a playpen note: go and buy one ...

i don't believe dp!!! we had well, some quality time and i had to remind him to "be careful" and he just said "oh i wouldn't mind having a little sister/brother for ds!!!" - dang, ds would be 13months if we were successfull
phewwww, postponed for now

dp wants to get a cat! but i told him not before ds is a bit older! i used to have 2 (ronaldo + samy sosa) - shame i had to leave them

spots · 20/10/2004 22:04

To be honest we've all but forgotten the being careful bit. (talking of sharing too much...) I've got terminal low libido at the moment which I'm assuming won't last, but on the occasions where any games of hide the sausage have been played it's only been afterwards that I've mumbled 'suppose we should try and be a bit careful when this happens'...

My period seems like a distant memory, which doesn't help.

Frankety frank...

GeorginaA · 20/10/2004 22:06

Shush you lot, I'm getting clucky. And I had such a hideous pregnancy last time I've PROMISED myself no more kids.

Besides... I have a novel to write

(for gods sake kick me off Mumsnet for November)

OP posts:
SusiS · 20/10/2004 22:16

not november yet

i actually had a brilliant pregnancy just the birth went completly pearshaped

oh i completly forgot: ds is drinking water!!! he always refused to drink anything; i got that tom.tippee "first cup" - where you can flip up the spout; and it's actually not "no spill" - i hold it for him though' but he does drink

phewwww, it's pouring down here. glad i don't have to go out tonight!!!

GeorginaA · 20/10/2004 22:20

I am watching "Lost In Space" and drinking Merlot. The day doesn't suck.

OP posts:
spots · 20/10/2004 22:26

Oh... Cat I think I know about that breed of dog from photos taken by a photographer called William Wegman. Have you come across him? They're really really funny...

spots · 20/10/2004 22:27

And his dog was called Fay!

libb · 20/10/2004 22:44

Tis the same pooch in the Blue Monday video by New Order - bootiful as they say in Norfolk! Cat, will come by for cuddles - with the puppy of course . . .

I just did the spelling thing - 40/50 - dingdangdoo! just as well it wasn't for grammar . . .

Spots, know what you mean I can't even blame lack of periods because they are up and running now I am just knacked thanks to work/washing bottles/sterilizing bottles/prepping bottles/washing up/laundry/getting tea etc. so hope it is just a phase until the dust settles . . . Yoikes!! TMI!
