Susi I think I might have exagerated the night feed thing - one of them is at bedtime (7.15 pm) and one first thing in the morning (6.30 am) with two sometime in between.

DD has joined us for meals since she was born. She used to sit in her bouncy chair and then graduated to her high chair (it is padded and reclines) about 6-7 weeks ago. For her, watching DS eats is highly entertaining... So I would say to try it Spots.

Bad luck Cat that your knee has just chosen now to flair up. And at the mobile alarm being a Kiera substitute.

libb · 10/11/2004 10:45

Eh Eygpt, you alroight? I only speak the Queen's English - dunt you know . . . .

libb · 10/11/2004 10:50

DS wore his England football shirt to "work" yesterday - when he got home he lifted it over his face so DP gave him the red card and sent him off the pitch!!!

Oh boo, Egypt I can't get it to work!
Just dashing through quickly, got our first non-family babysitter coming this evening - eek. Really really hope they don't wake up.
KBaby- we are doing 6 month AK stuff now. I recommend Lovely Lentils, Easy One Pot Chicken and Mushroom Pasta Sauce. They are all very bland and therefore acceptable! I use Tesco Fillini for the pasta - its very short lengths of spaghetti, then I overcook it so its v. soft, mix in the sauce and blend it a bit to make it even shorter! I won't try doing sandwiches for a while yet, nearer 8/9 months and then only teeny squares that he can shove straight in and chew! Have also been giving yoghurt - Onken (coz its full fat) with a dash of maple syrup. YUM.
Moustache....

GeorginaA · 10/11/2004 20:04

Egypt - that file won't work - it wibbles something about unknown publisher?

spots · 10/11/2004 20:48

DD was sitting today! Hoorah! She doesn't seem to realise the significance of her achievement but she's prob. just being modest so I will trumpet on her behalf. Oh magic magic baby. In her red dungarees. Also she really mastered saying 'Ba Ba Ba' and though she's babbled before now it's never been like this, like actually hearing her little voice! All the way along the coastal path she said Ba Ba Ba Ba Ba... and then fell asleep. So much hard work.

Do you think cous cous is ok to give? It boils down pretty mushy.

spots · 10/11/2004 20:52

Egypt, do you have any ideas yourself why your wee dd has gone so boob crazy in the night? Do you think it's because you are away? I totally know the problem about feeding back to sleep, but SOMETHING must be waking her that often...?

SusiS · 10/11/2004 21:20

that was fun!!!!!
dp got me a dancemat and we had to try it out
we each had abouy 30min workout - dang, don't wanna know what muscles i woke up

awww egypt' isn't she cute!!!!
i have to try that too.
ds is quite similar. wobbling about but manages a few minutes - if he seems something interesting enough

cambridge for an afternoon is a bit far for me

prufrock · 10/11/2004 22:14

I was hoping you'd all forgotten about the test. I FAILED. BIG TIME. The M11 roundabout is on one of the 7 possible test routes. got it. I HATE that fing roundabout. We got to it, I was so obsessed with getting in the right lane taht I cut up a green peugeot, then was so panicked about the fact I'd cut him up (I sort of knew I was doing it all the time I was IYSWIM) that I RAN OVER THE KERB when taking my exit. I mean why the * do they have pavements on a motorway junction!!!!! (The remaining 30 minutes I drove really well and got only 5 minors)

Ds is refusing to go to sleep in the evenings- he's jsut been up watching musicality with me. Dh is an arse. Ds won't eat any of my food, and dd has started to lie to me ('m hoping this si just a normal developmental stage). But apart from that life is wonderful.

cat - 26th November would be great - I will e-mail you in a bit. Oh and I see your 7 for Xmas dinner and raise you my 15! And they are all staying in my house from Xmas Eve to 27th Dec! Hope your knee feels better soon.

Spots - have you tried doing a bf first, then solids and hour or so later?

linnet · 10/11/2004 23:00

Aw Prufrock, sorry to hear about your test. But you will be fine next time, have you got another date set?

Dd2 discovered that she loves Cauliflower with cheese, from a jar. She was opening her mouth for the next mouthfull then grinning and telling me how much she liked it, lol I kept telling her to keep her mouth shut so she could actually swallow some of it instead of it being all over her chin, lol The baby yogurts are going down a treat also.

Went into work yesterday to catch up with everyone. Did a some snooping about the holiday situation, can't put any holidays in until January when we get our new holiday sheets, my friend said just to make sure I got them in as soon as I get the sheet, which will hopefully be just before new year or just after. But I've booked the holiday now so I'm just hoping that they don't turn round and say you should have checked holiday situation first. Don't see how I could do that anyway since we can't book holidays until Jan. I'm such a worrywart.

I'm afraid I can't come to a meet up later in the month as I'm in Scotland and have no way of getting there. Plus money is really tight and I'm frantically trying to organise christmas presents. Worked out tonight that I have to buy presents for 14 people plus things from Santa, aarrgghh. Dh only has to buy for 5 people! very unfair! I must get motivated. Can you tell I like these new ways of emphasising words?

Egypt I couldn't view your video it said something about unknown publisher.

GeorginaA · 10/11/2004 23:27

Argh... I can no longer use my trademark asterisks... they display bold sulk scream

SEE?!!!

Ahem. Sorry to hear about your test prufrock, but your description of the M11 roundabout did make me laugh!

OP posts:
libb · 11/11/2004 00:00

you go on a motorway for driving tests now?! flipping eck! I passed my test in 1990 and haven't even given motorways a token thought . . . a dual carriageway is bad enough . . . . how lame am I?

linnet · 11/11/2004 00:08

I don't think you have to actually go on the motorway on your test Libb, I think, although do correct me if I'm wrong, that prufrock maybe just had to go round the roundabout. Learner drivers aren't allowed on motorways. there is a big duel carriageway near my house that I've been down twice now on my lessons. first time the instructor kept saying, "go faster you can go up to 70 here, put your foot down girl". I don't like going too fast you see. 2nd time we went down it I went up to 60 without being told, quite liked it that time.

libb · 11/11/2004 00:12

ooh, roundabouts alone give me the heebiejeebies although I am "back in the saddle" so to speak as DP has enrolled me back into driving duties - have yet to tackle Cambridge city - Norwich is lairy enough for me now although I used to rattle around without a care at one point - amazing what a 7 year break can do . . . .

libb · 11/11/2004 00:15

Here is my "yoikes, what the chuff!" face

prufrock · 11/11/2004 07:35

Yes Linnett, you're righ. If I'd taken the M1 turn off I think I'd have had the test stopped!

Egypt · 11/11/2004 08:48

oh, shame prufrock. next time mate. roundabouts are an arse wherever. let alone on the M11.

i am impressed with your variety of foods you lot. Going to /have/ to get me d some variety. ok? tee hee. also impressed at variety of emphasis too of course.

spots, i think you may be right about being away being the cause of her waking. i was at my mums for 4 nights and before then she was doing very very well. from the first night we got home she turned into this feeding frenzied booby loony. last night she went every 1.5 hours again until 2.30 at which point i think she went for 3 hours until 5.30, unless she woke at 4. must have slept walked that one if so. then woke at 8. thing is, we are off to my mums again for a whole week from friday, as dh is in cleveland the whole time. what's the betting she gets herself back to normal tonight and then stuffs it all up again. ho hum.

bum fluff on the movie. did you get to see it then susi? how come it doesnt work on some? hmmmm. i have the ntl homepage just like you cat, your dh helped me set it up if you remember. anyway, go here and click on the 2 movies for a nose if you like. (rattle and sittingvideo) as well as any other pics.
