Lovely dp? I am obviously in the mood for love.

Sputnik · 17/11/2009 20:30

Yes Retrouvius, it came to me as I was cooking dinner. Not after anything, I wanted to take the piss on another thread, of, eg this rusty old tap, yours for a paltry £295 +vat
Some of the furniture is quite nice though.

Francasaysrelax · 17/11/2009 20:42

Sputnik, was that the Pedlars thread ?

PippiHasALifeOfRiley · 17/11/2009 20:45

ROFL at the tap.

Sputnik · 17/11/2009 21:19

hello ladies!

no, no detoxing, just a combination of exhaustion, bad mood, and a very bad and slow connection at night . I managed to catch up at work (til Franca was having a nearly perfec panino (don't like most cheeses...) while I was having ham and mustard sandwich from pret

Rosa, hope DD's better, always suffered bad otite and it's not nice

JB, I've only seen little of the thick of it (I always forget it's on) but is pretty realistic !

Sputnik · 18/11/2009 11:45

Was wondering where you'd got to Camo.

Rosa · 18/11/2009 13:44

Mini rosa febbre alto now and annoying cough . I am coughing and keeping the paracetamol in so speriamo bene..... DD1 getting better but she is now in the getting well stage - not bored yet but needing entertainment ...DH taken domani off work ...Good Man ...That is until he gets ill.
Vado su divano ....

minervaitalica · 18/11/2009 14:02

Hello and apologies for disappearing... Have been to big wedding and I have just recovered - was good though. Bride looked fabulous - one big flower in her hair and no make-up. I wish I could do that and not look washed out (I am a very un-Italian untannable milk colour).

Rosa, sorry to hear about your DD - you do not seem to get much of a break do you?

Getting excited because we are going to see the rugby on saturday (Italy - SA): am I sad or what?

Camomilla · 18/11/2009 14:41

MI, at the un-italian untannable milk colour! people here are always shocked when I say I'm italian (I have an accent of sort but not stron italian iyswim), because I am not dark/dark-haired/big bosomed - I must be austrian or german . actully, they might have a point, I might have some austian blood, who knows with the old austro-hugarian empire

really of the rugby!! since moving here and Italy being part of the 6 nations I love rugby! plus my old music teacher's husband used to play for Benetton treviso and italy (many mooooooooooooons ago)

Rosa, so sorry to hear now dd2's ill - as you know we've been hit bad for the last 5 weeks, but this is my second day cough free!! hope it's not a lingering cough! btw, always meant to ask, just out of curiosity, what language do you speak with DH?

dd's having a 'funny' day, she's had her first MMR + something else this morning, poor thing...

better get ready to go pick DS up, a dopo

Sputnik, scanner didn't work the other day (though I'm pretty sure it was DP's fault, he can fix/build pcs, just can't use them....), will try again at the w-end

Francasaysrelax · 18/11/2009 15:18

Hello Camo and Minerva, glad to see you back!!!

Rosa, sorry to hear about dd2 now. Gosh what a nightmare. You have to make the most of your dh taking a day off. I'd disappear for a few hrs if I were you !

I love rugby! It's a great sport. A very good friend of mine used to play, and always made us play when we were on holiday together. Years ago, of course.

I have a terrible back ache, like a stabbing pain in my lower back. Uffa.

And now ds (who was off school for last round of immunisation) wants me to read him a few pages of the b**y Cipolline!!!

Hello, poor Rosa!

Had a look at a welfare state thread, made my blood boil, I cannot believe that there are people like that on Mnet, made me want to leave the site really. It does not help that there is a pic of DC on the front of Mnet, I preferred that dishy children's author, ohhh, he made me blush....DC pisses me off, I don't like him and his lot!

grrrr, feel very grumpy.

Francasaysrelax · 18/11/2009 18:19

Oh yes, I learnt to steer clear from such threads. And DC. I'm afraid Javier, you;ll have to get used to him as your next PM

OP posts:
Rosa · 18/11/2009 19:12

Giovedi Nope its turned into mezza giornata for dh ..can't complain as its work. Me feeling lots better but minirosa high temp can't get it down .... DD1 on the mend as well but she is still moggia moggia and grumpy !!!

We speak Italian at home but I try to speak in English to the dds....

gio71 · 18/11/2009 19:52

hi all, just popping in to say hi. Been trying to catch up with all the work I missed when DS was off ill!
Rosa you are having a nightmare with illness! Hope all soon on mend. Franca hows the back?
Will go and try and catch up on the pages have missed, hope everyone else is ok. Javier I
haven't seen the thread but I can imagine the crap being spouted!
DS went back to school last thurs, after 4 weeks off! Hurrah! Tears first morning but been fine since then.

JavierBardem · 18/11/2009 20:37

Hi everyone! Sorry very grumpy post before. And I refuse to think DC iwll be our next PM!!! I feel sick at the thought. Che schifo, uffa. I am hoping that my vote will tilt the balance, may help with leafleting in likely to go blue areas, I wonder if I could do it pushing the pram...I cannot stand the idea that this may happen and I am sitting on my arse.

Off to bed with my book, I cannot bear reality today. Tomorrow I have a date with one of my favourite women friends!

JavierBardem · 18/11/2009 20:39

Maybe that dishy kids' writer could be our new PM? Or did he go to Eton too?

Francasaysrelax · 18/11/2009 21:17

Hi Gio, nice to see you around !

My back feels a bit better, but I took 2 paracetamol.

We are having a nightmarish evening. Both dc are still away, despite having been in bed for nearly 2 hrs. Dd is coughing. Ds is having one of his nights when he can't fall asleep. Bah.

OP posts:
Francasaysrelax · 18/11/2009 21:18

awake.

OP posts:
Camomilla · 18/11/2009 21:48

finally connection is working! must be the wind . DD had 2 hours of crying, wanted to sleep but didn't want to go to bed, in the end gave her some nurofern even if I couldn't measure her temp and the little that managed to go down seemed to help, didn't eat (for once I made s.thing different ) but at least she calmed down and pretended to read while DS was reading before bed.

Rosa, have a rest tomorrow!

so glad I'm not the only one not warming to DC, brrrrr it's all I feel at the thought of him being the next PM, I'll probably be out of work too (despite the huge headcount reduction there's been for the past 5 years - though no workload reduction!!).

gio, so glad ds is finally better and back to school!

franca, DS says that too sometimes, though sometimes it's him not wanting to go to bed or his legs hurting... but it is horrible when he gets frustrated and says "see, mummy, my eyes won't close, I can't sleep" with tears in his eyes staring at the ceiling

Camomilla · 18/11/2009 21:51

oh, how do I make a star costume? can't be too big or too rigid as they have to do a dance (nativity play thing)

Francasaysrelax · 18/11/2009 22:14

Yes, Camo. My ds panics if he doesn't fall asleep in 10 mins and gets really distressed etc.
They are still awake. Dd with a bad cough, we've done an aerosol... so ds is even more distressed than usual.

No idea re the costume, you need rosa or someone equally crafty!

OP posts:
Camomilla · 18/11/2009 22:46

are they in the same room? I wanted to put DD in DS's room, but DP said they'd disturb each other and they need their own room - I shared my room with DB til I was 7, with DB + DSis til I was 10, with DSis only til I was 17, so I don't see the problem, especially this young, boh, at least we;d still have a junk storage room

minervaitalica · 19/11/2009 09:49

Good morning! I hope all the little ones (or large ones) are getting better and everyone could get a good night of sleep.

Camo, I am sure there are plenty of ideas on the internet, but what about getting your LO dressed in cream/white/beige underneath (e.g. leggings and a tunic, or whatever you have got that fits the bill), and then making two very large stars out of cardboard sprayed with gold. You then either pin the stars to the front and back of the outfit, or if too heavy you can connect the stars with 2 bits of gold sprayed rope so that you can put them on her shoulders (a bit like those advertising boards people walk around with). You can also stick a smaller star on an alice band/fermaglio per capelli, or perhaps just decorate a pony tail with gold tinsel. Or if you want to hide her clothes you could perhaps make a small skirt with tinsel, lametta, or gold or yellow crepe paper (a bit like a hula skirt).

I am obviously in a creative free flow this am...

Anyway - DC is the least of the problems actually. It's George Osborne who scares me off; he is a bit of a lightweight chancellor I am afraid...
