Hi, minigio has croup (laryngitis for little ones). Nasty horrible virus! Pippi if you are concerned then take her to see someone. Was only when we took ds to hospital that got correct diagnosis!

DemonBradleySlaysPippi · 25/10/2009 18:51

I might do tomorrow acually. Last night it was sooo bad bless. And even during the day it seemed to choke at time. It seems a dry cough not a chesty one - hence not worried about breathing for once (stai a vedere eh!).

Take her just in case, I would after being told off for gp for not taking dd who had a cough as small baby soon enough. Not that there was anything wrong, but she said it is better to get it checked after a few days...

DG is puky Daily Telegraph!

Anyone know Sorciere Anna?

And any news of Brangelina?

My favourite Astrid Lindgren's were Vacanze all'isola dei gabbiani e Le Avventure di Emil.k

DemonBradleySlaysPippi · 25/10/2009 19:11

BosoirAnna. I guess that is her Halloween name, no?

Yes I wonder if Brangelina is okay.

Will take her tomorrow.

why DG for daily telegraph [thicko emoticon]?

OP posts:
DemonBradleySlaysPippi · 25/10/2009 19:14

JB I have just written first page on dds diaries. Excited and imagining them reading them when I am no longer here [morbid I know]. I have got one for each. You?

OP posts:
JavierBardem · 25/10/2009 19:27

no idea why it is DG, was meant to be DT. [not the brightest tool in the box emoticon]

No, I have one for both! I wonder if I should have one for each[competitive emoticon] I tend to write also things I would like them to known, like for instance how I much I like Guerra e Pace,I know they will probably think what a bore of a mum I was. Or movies I enjoyed. I bet you bought posh ones too, mine is from Tesco, so the dcs will also think a) that I have no taste b) that I am stingy.

Of course, it is B Anna.

Dp down with unspecified virus, so not sure whether to watch my dvd by myself or hang around here. It's with Romy Schneider, about a dw trying to kill her dh. Of course dp immediately raised his eyebrow when I told him the plot. Shall I watch it by myself?

Camomilla · 25/10/2009 20:23

watched that film years ago, I love Romy Schneider (of course I fell in love with her in Sissi when I was little and then just appreciated her in her other roles when I was a bit older)

yes, pippi, take her, though every time I took DS to GP with cough I always got the same answer, nothing can be done, no syrup works etc , and DS seemed to get a cough every other week...

you have diaries? feel very guilty now, haven't even filled a "baby book" ... out of curiosity, do you write in English or Italian? all the diaries I kept since being here have been in english, I really seem to be unable to write in italian ?

JavierBardem · 25/10/2009 20:26

I mix languages. Mine is not a diary, just a notebook for posterity.

They are very much against sciroppi aren't they? We used the one that "helps" them sleep which seemed to do the job.

TheMysticMasseuse · 25/10/2009 20:33

afraid my dds will have to remember me by the mess i left behind... dh and i did our wills (as we are leaving the uk we need to make sure we settle our financial matters, ie who's going to inherit the mortgage flat) and it was spooky enough...

off to bed. this clock change has killed me, we were up at 5.30 and i haven't quite recovered (lunch at 11.30 etc)

Camomilla · 25/10/2009 20:37

MM, it really makes you think, doesn't it, making a will, so much you rreally don't think about...

we spent the day watching old videos of baby DS... til he was about 3....... OMG, he was sooooooooo much bigger than DD is at the same age, big strong thighs, now he's got muscly but skinny legs... he was soooooooo tiny though when he was born, you forget how little they are... and I didn't have saggy bum after before DD, though I was really fat when pg with DS .

francaghostohollywood · 25/10/2009 21:55

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Bucharest! And lol at the madonna apparition in the toilets. Are you sure it's not the singer? ... you never know ...

Rosa, I've been wondering where you were! I hope everything is all right.

Sorry to hear about camoboy and minigio.

Oh I love Romy Schneider (and yes, I was hooked on Sissi as a 10 yr old). I think I've told you before. So beautiful, such a tragic life.

The petition is on www.repubblica.it

My favourie Astrid Lindgren were Il libro di Bullerby (the children of noisy village) and Martina.

Sputnik · 25/10/2009 22:16

Happy birthday from me too
Sorry miniGio is still not good.
My parents just arrived for the week so probably won't be posting much. We are giong to be tourists in Rome tomorrow then off to the mountain as DD is on half term, looking forward to it especially as the weather should be good.

francaghostohollywood · 25/10/2009 22:19

Sputnik have a lovely week with your parents (and at touring rome)

Off to bed, ciao!

DemonBradleySlaysPippi · 25/10/2009 22:39

Just watched Romanzo Criminale. I really liked it. It is very good. Except for Stefano Accorsi who is exactly the same person with the same face in every movie and he should learn he is not in a play anymore so should speak differently, same goes for the girl.

LOL at DG.

No not posh but leather, from TKmax. One orange, bigpippi's fav colour and one green, minipippi's one. Y think is a way es one each as I want them to have it so that I speak to them individually. Boh.

Made Will. I am a freak re this things.

one sentence got mixed up but I am too tired to correct it. I am sure you'll work it out.

Happy Birthday, Bucharest!

Sorry to hear about miniCamo, bigminiPippi & miniGio - hope they feel better soon.

LOL @ more time when DH away - DH has been at a conference, and I've managed to do so much laundry that was otherwise festering in a pile.

I also find DD easier to manage.

Weird. What is it? Why is it like that? For me, I think, it's because I don't also have to triangulate him into my movements, or anticipate his anxieties about DD, or whatever.

I lost an earring today. My birthday earrings from DH. Quite apart from the sentimental value, which was great, I am wincing at having lost something so costly.

Notte tutte.

(Oh, and Buch, you don't sound 44 at all. ).

minervaitalica · 26/10/2009 07:33

Buch - happy (belated) birthday!!! (44... Surely not )

Off to the supermarket this morning with DD, sis and Mum... how glamorous (but we do go for posh coffee beforehand).

DD is having some problems with distacco actually - she is glued to her Dad when he is around, cries when he leaves the room, and is generally hyper with him. I hope it is just a phase otherwise he is going to disown us I think... Poor bloke.

And November is here... Travelling to the UK this weekend!!!

francaghostohollywood · 26/10/2009 09:10

Penthe sorry to hear about the earring, I'd be devastated too (not that my dh gives me nice earrings for birthday... , in fact I have to force myself wearing those very few bits of jewellery I own, as I'm always worried I might loose them.

Penthe I also wanted to congratulate you for your posts on Roman Polansky.

Minerva, it's def a phase they go through at your dd's age, especially if it's a period when they see a bit less of the other parent. I promise that it'll pass!
(and I love going to the supermarket )

francaghostohollywood · 26/10/2009 09:12

Why am I always on the looser's side? I voted for marino alle primarie del pd and he has only got the 15%.

JavierBardem · 26/10/2009 09:34

Oh poor Franca!

Franca can you email me a quick summary of Polansky's thread? Don't dare looking at it!!!

DemonBradleySlaysPippi · 26/10/2009 09:35

Oh Penthe is definitely that, having to include DH in the daily plan and make sure he doesn't feel left out .
He came home last night and felt ignored I am sure because I was gripped with Romanzo Criminale.

Shame about the earring . Are you sure it won't reapper under the sofa or smthing? Always happens to me. I have got a few sentimental and valuable things and I am absolutely terrified to lose them.

minipippi hade tem 40 all night. Now ok. Called the GP and the stupid secretary made me call the swine flu help line even though I told her I've done that already and have the code for tamiflu but I want her lung and throat to be checked. She wouldn't give in so I had to do that and call again before she gave me an apt.

poor minipippi, I thought they'd see babies and toddlers. Dp's just gone to get tamiflu (DS had cough and temp and achy body and sore throat all night) but not sure if holding on to it if he gets worse (and really think that's what I had last week). actually, am I then still contagious if I'm still coughing? guess I'd better cancel DD's MMR on wed then asn she's got a cold and that would weaken her immune system even more, right?
