Where are you????

OP posts:
DemonBradleySlaysPippi · 26/10/2009 09:48

Oh yes how long are they contagious? Will ask. The cough is the worse tbh. Don't mind the temp bit much but the night cough is terrible.

OP posts:
francaghostohollywood · 26/10/2009 09:48

Will do javier.

I hate when they stick to their codes of practice with no flexibility. Of course if your dd has already had cases of suspected asthma she needs to be checked over. I'm angry on your behalf pippi.

Romanzo Criminale is good, isn't it. I think Placido went a bit OTT throwing everything into it, but Banda della Magliana was indeed linked to mafia, p2, chi piu' ne ha piu' ne metta.
And my Scamy is pretty succulent there.

francaghostohollywood · 26/10/2009 09:50

Camo, yes, I'd postpone the mmr too.

DemonBradleySlaysPippi · 26/10/2009 11:31

Well they are a bit OTT with this antiviral prescription for sure. They were all so keen for both dds to take it without checking it is ridiculous. Anyway off we went to the dr for miipippi to be absolutely splendidly fine with temp 35 and a big healthy smile . Thankfully dr very nice and told me to monitor for a few days. Not to take antiviral but possibly antibiotics in case. He then went, nicely, to suggest teething. I thought, surely not I'd have known. But no I am dubious myself.

Re Rom Criminale: Yes I agree with the too many things. Also really didn't like the love stories in it. They did not sit well with the rest imo. Will watch it again though with DH. Has anyone seen Gomorra the movie yet. I really want to know what you think compared to the book.

OP posts:
Rosa · 26/10/2009 12:58

Back again ..What did I miss about the DT - diddn't understand was there a thread or something.
Gio sorry about your ds this bug is a nasty one LOl about the fresh air I can imagine my MIL doing the same.
Pippi glad you managed to see the dr. We have the flu ( normal ) vaccine on Thurs anybody know if it has any side effects ?. Minirosa still has a bit of a cold and a cough so will get doc to check her before we do it /or not.
Penthe pain about the earring can you not wear one and start a fashion?
Minerva about the UK my M&s coat arrived and its too big so am hoping mum can take it back with her next week - I just have to order another one !!!
Wedding was fun ish - food was not that good bu it was nice seeing friends and playing pass the minirosa !!!!Saw some 'interesting' outfits I must say and no furs as it was a bit warm.

DemonBradleySlaysPippi · 26/10/2009 13:05

Where was the wedding again Rosa?

DH had the normal flu vaccine last week and complained of feeling very achey and run down like having a mild flu. Cannot guarantee they were related but it seemed so as he was in perfect form the day before.

OP posts:
francaghostohollywood · 26/10/2009 13:15

So, you've made it to the wedding rosa . I'm glad you had a nice time

I think the normal flu vaccine can cause mild flu symptoms. I'm really wondering if I should get it done, after last year.

Pippi I totally agree the love stories could have been avoided, especially the one between Accorsi (whom I find totally devoid of sex appeal) and the prostitute.

minervaitalica · 26/10/2009 13:39

Agree re: Accorsi - bit lame imo. Or perhaps I am just getting old.

Camo, definitely do not do the MMR if DD is not well - MiniMinerva has had it and was a PITA for days, and developed a fever as well - so I would not risk it tbh.

Rosa, lol at the interesting outfits - any more detail you can add? (curious emoticon)

All, I am finally reading Gomorra. I have only read one chapter thanks to hyper DD but I am questioning my buying habits already...

francaghostohollywood · 26/10/2009 13:44

Accorsi deffo lame, always been imho. The other four in romanzo criminale were all shaggable in their own unique way... (sorry!)

minervaitalica · 26/10/2009 14:01

Hmmm, may be I should watch the movie after all (I am not a massive fan of Italian movies in general, except perhaps some of the classics)...

Is anyone else laughing at the babynames thread too? They are discussing gems like Belle Kitten, Shelmerdine, Teddie Boo Florence. Either full of trolls, or maybe I am missing the vital pregnancy hormones.

francaghostohollywood · 26/10/2009 14:16

Ah I'm intrigued by those baby names threads! Will deffo have a lurk later after the school run!

Camomilla · 26/10/2009 14:29

the names people came up with sometimes are realy shocking! I'll email you the names of DP's friend's kids....

Rosa, glad you made it to the wedding and that mini Rosa's better!

francaghostohollywood · 26/10/2009 16:31

Have your children also middle and third names? Is it an english tradition?

JavierBardem · 26/10/2009 17:09

Hope kids's health improving soon....

DD has a second name, not ds.

I agree with whoever slagged off S. Accorsi, he always plays in the same way. Was not a big fan of Romanzo Criminale, but I enjoyed the highly shaggableness of most of the actors. Especially Kim Stuart Rossi, now HE IS a good actor. Am I the only one to find Placido's films a bit crap in general? Anybody seen his movie about Sibilla Aleramo? Na schifezza. I loved Le Chiavi Di Casa, forse di Gianni Amelio, cannot remember, have you seen it Franca? (i don't know why I always imagine you have seen all the italian movies, and read all the italian books.]

JavierBardem · 26/10/2009 17:21

Kids' health

francaghostohollywood · 26/10/2009 17:25

Javier, my dd has a second name as well (after my maternal grandmother) and ds has none.

No, I haven't read all the Italian books and watched all the italian movies, but I do my best . I love both books and movies, possibly my fav things.

The only extremely good movie by Placido is Un eroe borghese with Fabrizio Bentivoglio playing Giorgio Ambrosoli Giorgio Ambrosoli here. The movie is from the Corrado Stajano book "un eroe borghese" (einaudi) which I heartily recommend to whoever is interested in Italy's contemporary history.
The movie is very good, though a friend of mine - an insider - told me that it relied a lot on the help of its director of photography...

francaghostohollywood · 26/10/2009 17:28

Have missed tle chiavi di casa, I think it's ameglio, yes.
No haven't watched the sibilla aleramo movie, was he playing Dino Campana?
Poor Accorsi, he is a good guy.

francaghostohollywood · 26/10/2009 17:29

ameglio ???? Amelio, sorry. Oh god!

JavierBardem · 26/10/2009 17:31

My image of you.

During the day: smoking cigs, reading, watching movies at the cinema, buying lovely bags. Late afternoon: trips to giardinetti and home to make sugo. Once a week swimming pool when your hair becomes frizzy and brontoli about it. Lots of mnet in between of course. [happy]

Probably very little truth in this, but that's how I see your from what you post lol.

I love info from insiders. [ficcanaso]

JavierBardem · 26/10/2009 17:32

Yes, he was Dino Campagna.

JavierBardem · 26/10/2009 17:33

Campana.

He bagged himself a wealthy model, so we should not feel too sorry for him. And he works a LOT!

JavierBardem · 26/10/2009 17:37

Do you know who is Brange? Has rl taken over? Or does she have a new name?

Camomilla · 26/10/2009 17:45

no, no middle names, was difficult enough coming up with one, plus the poor things already have to live with double surnames (in UK, as for Italy they can only have the father's...)

can't join in the italian film convo, I'm soooo out of it now....

Camomilla · 26/10/2009 17:45

I mean, I have lost touch with italian cinema... think the last italian thing I've seen is La vita e' bella

Camomilla · 26/10/2009 17:47

better go get dinner ready before DP comes back from his hospital apt... he felt very old for being asked to go for this full check up now that he's over 40
