I have recently, but the item still hasn't arrived, they aren't answering emails or voicemail messages, and I'm starting to think that they might have gone under.
Anyone ever bought anything from them??

wish i had seen this website before i placed an order with this company. placed an order with them on the 13th July they were quick to take the money on the 14th July and like everyone else who placed an order with this company nothing turned up. i did manage to contact Angela so i could cancel my order, she even confirmed the canelled order by sending me an email ( how nice hmm) but still waiting for the money... and so it looks like i have a rather long wait ahead of me.

Hello,

I just wanted to let a few concerned people know that I also ordered a leander cot and sheets from sobaby, but received it when they said they were going to deliver. I rang before ordering and they said that delivery was going to be a month, and they stuck to their word. I agree that their customer service need lots of improvement, however they do deliver and I saved about £200 ordering off sobaby - compared to similar websites.
Just make sure you phone them before you order to find out when the item will be in stock - or like me order way in advance and expect a wait.

bhafc99 · 10/09/2009 10:16

Like others I wish I'd seen this forum before ordering...

We ordered four things from sobaby, and although two of them arrived relatively quickly (though still not as initially promised), we're still waiting for a carseat 10 weeks on and a storage box 5 weeks on.

When we've managed to speak to sobaby, they've claimed they're getting stock in "next week", but that's never materialised.

And now their phone seems to be permanently engaged ? ie off the hook, all day every day.

Will be sending a recorded delivery refund demand today ? would minitrip or any other poster be able to email me details of the Trading Standards people they've spoken to, so I can get in touch with them too?

Thanks!

Cinnamond · 10/09/2009 13:23

I ordered a Taf Smart Mat on 6th August and as you can probably guess there has been no sign of it and no communication from the company.
I managed to talk to them about 2 weeks ago and they said they expected stock in the next week. I see now that that is a familiar story.

I paid through Paypal and have just today opened a dispute. Let's see where that leads. I'll give them to next week before I escalate to a claim.

Unfortunately I ordered a number of items including my baby's cot from So baby a couple of weeks ago spending nearly £800!! I have been trying to contact them for a week now to obtain an expected delivery date but they haven't responded to any of my emails despite sending several which have all been marked urgent and calling them non stop (I believe they have taken the phone off the hook as the number is permanently engaged). I would not recommend using this company to anyone especially not pregnant ladies who should be avoiding stress. I have contacted consumer direct who are going to pass my details onto trading standards and I have also contacted my credit card company. I wish I had seen this thread before buying from them

YVixenVic · 11/09/2009 10:51

I have just spoken to Izziwotnot (they are the supplier of most of the items) and they have advised me that no order has been placed for me! Izziwotnot are now going to deal with me direct.

Interestingly it seems that So Baby are adding to their collection of online stores and websites; one can only assume their latest creation is to get away from the bad press of So Baby UK as now there is So Baby EU www.sobaby.eu. This would indicate they have no intentions of cleaning up their act, just trying to run form it.

willtryharder · 13/09/2009 09:33

If I were you guys I would get in touch with Watchdog or at least threaten to.

bhafc99 · 14/09/2009 12:29

Following my post last week, we sent a recorded delivery refund demand to sobaby.

The next day I got a phone call from a guy who says he has just taken over the business, as the previous owner was out of her depth and couldn't cope. He said he's now sorting out all outstanding orders as a priority, and promised that our carseat will be delivered tomorrow (Tuesday) and that he'll process a refund on the storage box today. He also gave me his personal mobile number, so at least I now have another contact than the permanently-engaged landline.

I'll believe it when it happens, but if this does turn out to be true then perhaps there's some hope for everyone here.

Jeffs · 14/09/2009 14:24

Hi bhafc99, as there seems to be no hope of getting through on their telephone line we would all be sincerely greatful for the name and contact details you have. Living in hope.......

YVixenVic · 17/09/2009 10:10

Just thought that I would let you know that I have received my refund this morning.

Kelsbells · 17/09/2009 11:18

Just thought I would give a positive comment on Sobaby,I ordered my new pushchair last wk, when it was delivered on Monday it was unfortunately the wrong colour, I got through on the phone straight away on Tuesday morning and the correct colour has been delivered today, I would like to say a big thank you to them for dealing with me so promtly and I would not hesitate in using Sobaby again.
Maybe things are improving.

Cinnamond · 17/09/2009 11:47

Well I haven't heard anything from SoBaby despite my emails and attempted phonecalls so I've now escalated my PayPal dispute to a claim. I'll post if I get a refund.

BizLI · 17/09/2009 20:14

Just wanted to say DON'T PANIC if you've bought from So Baby.

When I did not get a response to my emails to So Baby and found their phone to be permanently engaged, I found this thread and it made me panic that my money was lost and I would never get my skip hop changing bag

They do appear to be absolutely rubbish at running an online store as they didnt reply to any of my 4 emails sent between a Friday and Monday, and don't have suitable telephone support, but when I did manage to get through on the telephone on the Tuesday the ladies I spoke to were very pleasant and told me the status of my order.

By then though, I had lost confidence in them, so requested a refund. They processed it without question there whilst I was on the phone.

Cinnamond · 18/09/2009 01:23

Well i thought i'd let you all know that i did get my refund this evening after escalating my paypal dispute to a claim. I got an email from Angela Gordon stating that the order was cancelled and the money refunded

ancient · 18/09/2009 20:56

I just thought I would let you all know my experience with sobaby has been very good and I would not hesitate in using them again. I placed my order over the telephone and had no problems contacting them I even had my order confirmed by email. My Quinny package arrived 3 days later and I love it! Maybe past problems that sobaby have had are coming to an end......

annh · 19/09/2009 10:01

Isn't it wonderful how many first-time posters are arriving to speak positively about SOBABY now? Perhaps a little more time could be spent on issuing refunds to disappointed customers and a little less time creating user IDs on here?!

Flamesparrow · 19/09/2009 10:07

I like the way the wording of the positive comments are very similar, with the "just thought I would..." and "maybe things are..." at the end

mum2boys3girls · 19/09/2009 15:07

I wish I had seen this thread before I ordered from Sobaby

Placed my order on the 3rd Sept and still nothing , no replies to my emails I would strongly warn others to avoid . Just really cross with myself for not researching on here first

Dear annh, I have to say I totally agree with you; moreover, maybe they could have diverted, the obviously large pot of money they have just spent on redeveloping their new 'swanky' website, to giving their customers refunds. It's a shame their customers figure so low down their list of priorities.

mum2boys3girls · 20/09/2009 11:26

I also agree with annh , I have started a claim for my money back from paypal , I think its disgusting a firm can act this way and get away with it . I don't see why I have to put my time and effort chasing a so called other company for my order , I will be warning friends and family of this website

WEB1970 · 20/09/2009 11:33

Completely agree. I would caution any expecting or new parent: Do NOT order anything from So Baby. This UK retailer has horrendous customer service. My husband and I were appalled by our experience -- after weeks of e-mails, attempted phone calls, and 4 direct conversations with both Jo and Angela during which they each promised assistance that never came, we finally ordered elsewhere. Meanwhile, we lost nearly a month of time preparing for our new baby by just having tried to place the order with So Baby. Further, they seemed completely without concern for their lack of responsiveness and the inconvenience this caused us. It is quite possibly one of the worst experiences I have had with a retailer.

Mummy2Josh · 21/09/2009 10:24

I ordered a few things last week from So Baby and noticed the next day the money came straight off my bank was from Big Imagination.

After looking into this I noticed this thread and sent a email to Angela asking when I would receieve these items. Have had no reply and cannot get through on phone. Also checked the website and it is now saying I am not a registered customer!

Anyone else find this when they went to log in and check order?

Thanks Nicola
