i always remember a poster like xenia who was advicing a poster who was a wealthy sahm who had just discovered her dh was having an affair. The xenias jumped in saying how this was just so typical and then adviced her to slowly squirrel some money away without him noticing before calling in the lawyers. The poor poster after a few days announced she was back with her dh, newly pregnant and all forgiven. Very mumsnet indeed.
The xenia like posters are basically the super mums, have it all women", no? super job, salay, kids, schools, holidays, house, etc. But behind this super everything facade, there is the shit you find in eveybody's house. I don't think of them as feminists, because feminisms is about choosing what you want to do, and they crap on other women choices. Amen too! All the kids are screaming, better go.

javierbardem · 18/02/2009 16:52

i really like xenia's coat!

Sputnik · 18/02/2009 18:52

Any excuse to link Elio, eh Franca
That brought a smile to my face even though I haven't the foggiest who Sonorha are, or ever watched Sanremo, I love Elio

francagoestohollywood · 18/02/2009 19:03

. So happy to find someone who shares my passion for Elio Sputnik! Have been addicted to them since 1986 (or was it 1985? boh)... I think sonohra (or wherever the h goes ) was the only bit of Sanremo we watched last year. It was a young duo with 1980s hairdos...

i thought patti pravo died of drugs...

Brangelina · 18/02/2009 20:36

There's a picture of Xenia's coat? Where?!?

Franca, DP and I once bumped into Elio doing his shopping at esselunga in via Ripamonti. Must be his local, so maybe you'll bump into him too.

francagoestohollywood · 18/02/2009 20:39

Yes, it is his local. He grew up in the same quartiere I grew up. He now lives very near us, but still I've never met him! My mum met him more than 10 yrs ago in Esselunga and ask him an autografo!

OP posts:
Brangelina · 18/02/2009 20:44

I thought Patty Pravo was a mummia tbh. DP was certainly convinced she was dead, then up she pops and wins Sanremo. That was a surprise!

My cleaning lady has gone awol and I'm feeling very chaotic and out of control. I swear I got more work done when my house was tidy. Now it's a tip I can't concentrate. Maybe it's feng shui related to having too much mess in a particular corner. Boh.
Like Penthe I always used to do things at the very last minute and get away with it - now it's no longer last minute but extra time. Could it be old age? Or maybe it's just the time of year.

Brangelina · 18/02/2009 20:45

You must pitch a tent at Esselungs.

We were too cool to ask for an autograph [pretending to be bored with celebrity emoticon].

Brangelina · 18/02/2009 20:46

Is anyone going to tell me where I can see Xenia's coat then? Or are you all immersed in sanremo?

javierbardem · 18/02/2009 20:50

brange, fai un search con google per "alimony for nothing", lei ha un cappotto arancione. Would like to ask her where she got it, and if they have other colours. Leggendo l'articolo ho capito perche' e' come e'.

Penthesileia · 18/02/2009 20:50

If you had read my subtle email, Brange, you would know to google "alimony for nothing" and you'll find an article...

Or you could just click here. I'm not worried about linking anymore as someone else has blown her cover on the other thread. Xenia's the last picture.

Penthesileia · 18/02/2009 20:51

x-post!

Penthesileia · 18/02/2009 20:52

More impressive than the coat, however, is her enormous house.

javierbardem · 18/02/2009 20:52

i am certainly not watching sanremo!!!! Watched an interview with Isabella Ferrari on yutube. La Ferrari e' una donna intelligente

francagoestohollywood · 18/02/2009 20:52

Oh! Do you think we should get the posts deleted?

OP posts:
Rosa · 18/02/2009 20:53

popping in Brange if you google alimony for nothing it comes up...It was Penthe that suggested it.
No San remo in this house but I do quite like Bonolis and Laurenti but usually in the latter part of that quiz they did with 2 opposite kinds of teams.
Effin cold here off to snuggle up with a cammomile dh probably snoring already....

francagoestohollywood · 18/02/2009 20:53

Mind you, with all that money, I'd go for something smaller, but in central london... (snob)

Rosa · 18/02/2009 20:54

Fu*k so we are all lurking on here at the same time...

francagoestohollywood · 18/02/2009 20:54

... that's what I call "sintonia"

OP posts:
DamonBradleylovesPippi · 18/02/2009 20:55

penthe I read your posts on that thread about rich people being blamed etc.
Impressive. well done girl. I'm so proud you're my friend .

Penthesileia · 18/02/2009 20:57

Lurky lurky.

No, franca, I think it's ok. She reveals her personal details quite openly on MN (amount she paid husband, what he did for a living), and she obviously took part willingly in the article; so I presume she must have reckoned that some MNers would recognise her. I think she must be ok with that. I just didn't want to 'out' her so directly on that thread.

Brangelina · 18/02/2009 20:57

Lol! I'm afraid I didn't pick up the subtle hints (derbrain here) but in my defence I only skim read as you'd all written so much.

It got you all out of the woodwork though. And lol at all you Sanremo deniers, it's a bit like everyone saying they didn't vote for Berlusconi yet da-daa he's up there...

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 18/02/2009 20:58

have you seen how many times has she had articles written about her??? blimey.
