Welcome, ciao, hello

OP posts:
Penthesileia · 17/02/2009 20:27

Oh you poor things, all of you, with the bugs and vomiting. I hope you and your DC all get better soon1!!!

Penthesileia is a figure in Greek mythology.

javierbardem · 17/02/2009 20:35

fuck!!!! i knew there was some Greek mith reference there!!

francagoestohollywood · 17/02/2009 21:18

javier, that teaches you not going to liceo classico ...
Oh, I've always wanted to visit that Museum ...
So sorry to hear about all these bugs... I always dread the vomiting ones, as I seem to pick them up really easily from the children.
Talking about bugs, I think dd has 3 suspicious spots on her tummy... and chicken pox is doing the rounds in her nursery school... I hope it's nothing.

javierbardem · 17/02/2009 21:29

to be honest i didnt' want to ask penthe what her name meant for fear of looking ignorant!

javierbardem · 17/02/2009 21:33

francagoestohollywood · 17/02/2009 21:33

francagoestohollywood · 17/02/2009 21:34

London is too expensive, and dh is not smart enough to get a job at LSE or similar

OP posts:
francagoestohollywood · 17/02/2009 21:35

But, as you know, I would have loved loved loved living in London.

happy birthday Rosa! that cake sounds gorgeous!!

sorry to hear about all the illnesses...

been busy getting DD weighed today, after 6 wks! then started emptying my wardrobe and getting rid of things I'll never wear again and so that I can actually find some clothes I can wear.... after that I made Brange's banana cake (delicious!!) for DP's b-day, then off to hospital (found myself in a room full of OAPs... all giggling every time the nurse mentioned sexual intercourse) and now I'm shattered after catching up on these last 3 pages!!!

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 17/02/2009 22:15

btw, when I had DS, the house was always clean and tidy, always made nice food, always ironed clothes, now, well, you know...

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 18/02/2009 07:22

really sun? the opposite here. (not that my house is that clean and tidy..)

had crap night. not sure how I feel today.

Bucharest · 18/02/2009 08:17

Morning all....

Sympathy for all vommy people...am just about to go to doc myself as think I have some gastrite thingummy- kind of like the vommy-windy late months of pg stuff (except I'm not) Had it for months really, but am now fed up of burping (or wanting to but not managing.) Scoured the MN general health pages and of course freaked myself out googling.....aaargh.

Read all the Jowell stuff both in English and Italian and still don't understand wtf happened! Will he actually go to jail? I imagine not.

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 18/02/2009 08:25

feeling shitty (in every sense ). fed up and tired. have no patience with the poor dds who are good as angels. wish I could just spend the day in bed with lots of magazines and a good book. [pippi face]

francagoestohollywood · 18/02/2009 08:50

Hi, feel shitty too, as ds woke up AGAIN during the night, so I've spent the last part of the night in his bed and I'm shattered.

I'm now 90% sure dd has chicken pox, as I found another 10 spots this morning. But she's well in herself and she is now drawing.

To celebrate the beginning of the Festival di Sanremo here is elio e le storie tese last year, taking the piss out of one of the winners

OP posts:
Penthesileia · 18/02/2009 10:03

Oh no, franca - poor DS, and poor you! I'd say poor DD too, but sounds like she's not suffering too much, bless her. Hope that continues!

Gosh, Bucharest and Damon: I really, really hope you feel better asap.

Bucharest · 18/02/2009 10:23

Back, after the usual bunfight "chi e prima?" Pfffft. Got box of meds to take for 2 weeks then she says if they don't work I have to have a gastroscopy so they blimmin better.....

Only saw Patti Pravo on Sanremo. At least her banshee out of tune wailing convinced me they do sing live and not just miming. How old is the old trout? Must be at least 60 and so stirato'd not a wrinkle in sight. (maybe she had a handbag and boots made out of all the lifted skin eeeuuuuuuuw)

francagoestohollywood · 18/02/2009 10:31

Oh gosh Bucharest, I hope the medicines work, the gastroscopy sounds scary !

I haven't seen the festival yesterday. I used to watch it religiously until the late nineties ... ... with friends, we used to bet on the winners. Patty Pravo must be in her early 60s I think. She used to be stunning.

Dd is now watching mary poppins... she looks a bit tired now.

Hey franca - in ref. to the xenia thread - actually feel worried now about alluding to the article, although - if she's comfortable about revealing so much of her life, she must expect people to realise it's her, IYSWIM. Don't want to refer to it in that thread with her name on it, but if you google: alimony for nothing... you'll find it.

Penthesileia · 18/02/2009 10:35

She is actually quite foxy!

francagoestohollywood · 18/02/2009 10:37

you are naughty penthe!

OP posts:
Penthesileia · 18/02/2009 10:40

So, did you see it? Check out her MASSIVE house!!!!!!!!!

francagoestohollywood · 18/02/2009 10:42

! Actually, I have a soft spot for her, even if I don't agree with most of the things she says...

OP posts:
Rosa · 18/02/2009 10:43

Chicken pox - I hope she has it mildly and your ds is bound to get it as well .
No more vomit here thankfully is mega cold but clear and sunny!Dh is out with dd1 as I kept her from nursery today just as she has a horrible cough still.
Bucharest good luck with the meds could it be a slight food allergy ??
I am still in pjmas and I better go and try and construct something for lunch - I wanted to go out but minirosa woke for 2nd feed late!

Penthesileia · 18/02/2009 10:46

I disagree with virtually everything she types (and if she even knew who I was, I'm sure she'd feel the same! ), but I too respect her "direct" approach; she's no hypocrite, even if she lives in a bubble.

Not true: I do agree with some of her more "feminist" stances.
