Welcome, ciao, hello

OP posts:

LOL @ MIL Rosa, my Mum made me start wearing makeup when I was pregnant, as if I was old enough to be making babies, I was old enough to learn what to do with mascara...

My first Italian boyfriend bought me a huuuuuuge Pupa pyramid thing. Full of blue, green, orange eyeshadow. Hideous thing. Hope your colour scheme is a little more up to date!

Franca- the Garlasco bloke looks like a serial killer though. (would get very flamed indeed for saying that on the Knox thread- but he does....)

francagoestohollywood · 17/02/2009 13:34

Rosa, lol at Mil/Pupa!!! I wouldn't know what to do with all those colours, but must admit that I'm always fascinated by Pupa make up boxes!

Glad to hear dd is ok today and your having a lovely day . How old is dd2 now? Are you worried about the little weight gain?

OP posts:
Rosa · 17/02/2009 14:27

I am a bit worried as she has been a bit coughy coldy ( As paed said anything dd1 gets she will get even in a mild form !)
However I will see how next week goes and then we canb see teh total weight gain in a month. The next baby put on 400g in 2 weeks !!!
DD1 terrible cough she can't sleep so is on our bed watching Cars- MRSA fell asleep in my arms so I have put her under her gym to doze!Ok gusy where do I get decent bf bras in Italy - Prenatal ones suck . I don't have a chicco - this place is full of new trendy underwear shops ( size 0 or even 2 at a push ) I darent risk online as it will take ages and then I will probably have to send back !

francagoestohollywood · 17/02/2009 15:27

Oh poor minirosa... it's hard being a second, you get all your sibling's bugs! It is very sensible to check the monthly weight gain at this stage.
No idea re breastfeeding bras, as I only ever had one or maybe 2 pairs, one was def prenatal, the other a chicco, maybe. But only wore them for the first month, and probably never with dd . Have you tried a good independent shop? One of those old fashioned merceria? They are disappearing, sadly, as usually the shopkeeper could measure you only by looking in your eyes (while those young girls in intimissimi don't know anything!) (bitter, old fashioned franca emoticon)

I'm multitasking, mn and making pollo. And taking ds to swimming lessons in 40 mins...

I only had superstrength but ordinary Matalan bras for nursing. Marvellous they were too.....

Not much help there..

Dd arrived back from nursery in divilspawn mode (as result of being awake till stupid o'clock last night) and is currently bleating in my ear and crying and whinging....Gonna be a long evening.....

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 17/02/2009 15:40

Rosa if you know your M&S size I'll send them to you.

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 17/02/2009 15:42

oh and rosa my dd2 as well is so coughy. I've been to gp twice just in case but it's just getting the bugs from dd1 like you say.
no idea re weight as as I said I've never weighed mine after the first two weeks [uselessmum emoticon]!

francagoestohollywood · 17/02/2009 15:43

Bucharest, shall I pour you a stiff g&T?

Pippi, I looked for the costumini, but they were only tiny. They might arrive later. Which sizes? 1 and 4?

OP posts:
Rosa · 17/02/2009 15:45

DD has just iced my cake it has jam ( !!!!!!) sprinkles and only a couple of smarties ( she wouldn't share any more - I drew the line at cocoa powder however )I only had a 3,2 and a 1 candle so we have stuck on 5 small ones ( one is pushed in almost half way)..You know it will probably be the best cake ever ... Well maybe the next one will be when they both make it
I might go and hunt out an old traditional mercerie - they all have the same musty smell , lady with glasses and a scala that they zoom up and know where everything is. I had 2 M&S ones but they are too tight on the back. Then I have all old dd1 ones - I hate anything but cotton so they have lost any form of support. I seem to have changed shape so much that my old bras just don't fit !!

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 17/02/2009 15:46

oh thanks franca. 1.5 (if they do it) and 4.

did you have a good time? what have you bought yourself? are you coming over easter then?

Rosa · 17/02/2009 15:48

LOL just seen your name Pippi !!!
Thx for offer but mum has offered as well but I was hoping to get something faster !
I go to the clinc to do something for me to be honest and weigh her whilst there. As there is a paed its really good as today she listened to Mrsa chest as it is a bit nasty.
Other times we just sit and chat - today we stuffed ourselves with gallani as I decided we could all get fat together ( fatter in my case )

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 17/02/2009 15:48

yes those mercerie are quite something. I forgot all about them till last summer when I had to buy supersize bikini (still bfing) and in a minute the lady got a million out of nowhere (with the help of magic stepladder of course!)

oh I wish I lived in venice at times.

rosa will let you know if it feasible for me to come over while I'm at dad's.

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 17/02/2009 15:50

oh your clinic sounds good fun - mine was quite miserable tbh. how nasty? bless. isn;t it awful when the LOs are ill as they seem to bear it very stoically.

Rosa · 17/02/2009 15:50

If its over 7 March come to a party ( it will be caos )
Now Franca what is this sacco pieno sacco vuoto giocco ?

francagoestohollywood · 17/02/2009 15:52

The cake sounds yummie rosa !

Yes, I think we are coming on Easter. Haven't booked the flight yet. Will you be around my dear?
Have you all met at the show or is it next weekend?

OP posts:
DamonBradleylovesPippi · 17/02/2009 15:53

btw for your record JB and I met today in RL. Had a great time. Dd1 was mute for most of the times but she really enjoyed herself. Dd2 had a fantastic time walking everywhere and was very well behaved even though she smacked her face on the floor while I wasn't looking .
JB's dc are gorgeous!

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 17/02/2009 15:55

show this weekend. wow what a busy rl we have .

rosa it is!! we get there the day before. it sounds really tempting!!! a bit more headache for you though. wonder if dad will let us go for the day. do you think I can make it in venice with pram and buggyboard? (haven't been to venice as a mum!)

francagoestohollywood · 17/02/2009 15:55

OP posts:
francagoestohollywood · 17/02/2009 16:03

OP posts:
javierbardem · 17/02/2009 16:38

my ds was mute too with damon's dcs - talked all the way home though and gave me huge headache. of course db's kids are beautiful too, the hugest eyes you could ever imagine!

house is a mess, thinking of killing dp.

how was trip home damon?

francagoestohollywood · 17/02/2009 16:43

where did you go?
(I'm still here, as dh took a recalcitrante ds to swimming lessons. yuppie!)

OP posts:
Penthesileia · 17/02/2009 16:49

Happy Birthday, Rosa! Sorry that your LOs are not well. Hope they get well soon. Yours too, DB!

that Damon & Javier met (sounds like those chaps with the house-swap in Rome ). All this name-changing is very confusing...

Ok, so despite my best efforts, I am completely unable to do anything even vaguely technological: none of my photos will upload; and those that are already on the computer will not be resized.

Humph.

You will just have to take my word for it that I look like a chicken drumstick in the jeans, although I can't take them back, as have now spilt egg on them when baking. Hmmm.

Anyway.

So, did/do you guys get anything done while you were on maternity leave, or while your LOs were babies? I can't seem to do anything. I've been trying all day to update my CV, and get round to writing some references I owe some students, but I just can't seem to get to it... Let alone all the other stuff that I should be doing, but am not... Argh.

So, franca: did you buy any nice stuff in gay Pareeee?

Bucharest · 17/02/2009 16:54

Feck, mine is 5 and out at nursery 8 hrs a day and I still do nothing.

I just can't seem to get into this bleaching my balcony every morning at the crack of dawn Stepfordy thing....

Neighbours must think am complete slattern.
