Pah!!!!!- if I see any I shall get out of the pool myself and dive in with a big belly flop right next to them!!

flashingnose · 10/01/2005 12:35

Swimming with your head out of the water is sooo difficult. I'd rather get my hair wet.

lowcalCOD · 10/01/2005 12:38

and those who wear bikinis to municipal pools
it not hawai!

nailpolish · 10/01/2005 12:39

lol!

my mum takes dd1 swimming and she never gets her hair wet. wears full make up and her glasses too! she is a total jessie!

LIZS · 10/01/2005 12:41

lol. What about those with tans in mid-winter, or who have several kids in tow but no stretch marks or floppy tum to show for it.

(Can't you tell I'm plucking up courage to take dd and am feeling very self conscious already!)

lowcalCOD · 10/01/2005 12:46

no they dont exitst!
were you wearing your glassesat the time?

marialuisa · 10/01/2005 12:48

There's nothing wrong with wearing bikinis to go swimming! I hate one piece cossies as I have biggish boobs and refuse to wear a one-piece with underwire (granny alert IMO). I do get my hair wet though and haven't had a winter tan for 4 years....Although I guess I should follow local example and go up Leccy Beach.

lowcalCOD · 10/01/2005 12:50

I htink bikins are tanning only
opinion i suppose

OP posts:
wild · 10/01/2005 12:50

I swim with contact lens in
Otherwise I can't see the other side of the pool

CountessDracula · 10/01/2005 12:53

Mmmmm. DH and i have unkind laughs at those rather unsporty looking peple who turn up in a Speedo aerodynamic outfit, super-duper goggles and cap and then do a sedate breatstroke in the slow lane.

BTW, tanning is surely just bikini bottoms only?

wild · 10/01/2005 13:05

Would rather be dry than wet and blind
If I do not wear c.ls I knock myself out on the side of the pool
am a danger to all other traffic

nasa · 10/01/2005 13:06

I don't like bikinis for swimming either but only because unfeasibly jealous of people with the bods to wear them.

agree that it's all about getting wet

sandyballs · 10/01/2005 13:11

Oh no, I'm one of these! I swim and don't get my head wet if I can help it! The chlorine brings my face out in a terrible rash - looked like a leper last time i dunked under. Only on my face though, not body, very strange.

Hulababy · 10/01/2005 13:14

I wear my lenses in the pool too, as again I wouldn't be able to keep a careful eye on DD otherwise, so not really very safe to go without. Lost a lens in the gym pool last weekedn though!

Hulababy · 10/01/2005 13:15

At our gym everyone has to get wet, including their hair before you can even get int he pool. Everyone has to shower first!

Surfermum · 10/01/2005 13:23

They always seem to push off just as I'm about to turn, so you either have to overtake and be glared at or hang right behind them, constantly tickle their feet unintentionally and get glared at anyway.

SPARKLER1 · 10/01/2005 13:33

OMG - Just had a horrible feeling about going swimming next time. I always make sure that I have shaved arms, legs and bikini line before I go swimming. Worried I'm gonna end up going with one hairy armpit!!!

lou33 · 10/01/2005 13:46

ahem, lizs i am one of those atm!

is wearing a bikini while on holiday and splashing in the sea allowed?

One of my pet hates!!
Mad woman comes to the place I belong to with a huge 60's style beehive, and not a drop ever touches it (unless I'm about. Being a rather good swimmer I time my oafish, splashy and show offy tumble turns for when she is clinging pathetically to the side.
Ner her her her!!!! (echo echo echo)
