i dont like getting it in my ears....

Polgara2 · 10/01/2005 16:52

Edam I'm with you on this one to a certain degree. I'm incredibly frightened of the water (and I wear glasses too) but try to make the effort for my children to enjoy being in the water. However, we all have different areas of life which we have difficulties with and can't I suppose expect to understand everyone elses foibles. I just can't imagine purposely taking the mick out of any of them thats all. There, have put in my twopennorth (sp?) and will flounce off to a different thread now .

edam · 10/01/2005 16:54

Thanks Sobernow and Polgara2, I'm glad someone knows what I was getting at!

lowcalCOD · 10/01/2005 17:00

I particularly like the red white and blue one.

I dare you to wear it on your first day on the bench. With flippers and a snorkel

lowcalCOD · 10/01/2005 17:11

OP posts:
Hulababy · 10/01/2005 17:12

Think a flowery one might be good

lou33 · 10/01/2005 17:15

make sure you wear it with one of these , and call yourself margot.

gingerbear · 10/01/2005 17:16

No, I like the Lemon one with chinstrap.
And I want a noseclip to match.

JanH · 10/01/2005 17:17

I used to wear one like this when I was at primary school!

KateandtheGirls · 10/01/2005 17:19

"...or just to make a fashion statement."

PMSL.

KateandtheGirls · 10/01/2005 17:20

How did we end up at kaftans?

But, OMG. Hilarious!

triceratops · 10/01/2005 17:21

You can tell that the people who wear makeup in the pool have not had a shower before they got in which is unhygenic and therefore anti social (and against the local pool rules).

I wouldn't splash them as that is also against the pool rules and anti social but I would give them a "funny" look. So there.

iota · 10/01/2005 17:22

you can laugh, but some of the boys in ds1's class go swimming at a local pool where everyone has to wear a hat - 5 yr old boys included.

Luckily for us, we go to the David Lloyd where you are free to shed as much hair, make-up, snot and anything else you might be wearing, as you like, into the pool.

lou33 · 10/01/2005 17:24

i actually like kaftans, but stylish ones. I own a couple.

marthamoo · 10/01/2005 17:40

There was an ancient tinplate sign up at our local public baths that had a list of rules and little pictures to illustrate them. We all used to crack up in hysterics every week at the little picture of a man with his arm around a woman's shoulders which said "No Petting".

SDragon · 10/01/2005 17:43

DS2 (3.75) has to wear a hat for his lessons Very cute he looks too.

lowcalCOD · 10/01/2005 17:43

iota
t hought you were about to be offended by the hats!
