HI all, have started our new thread, thought it was a good time to do so, as nobody seemed to be mid-conversation, at least I hope so!!!
Lets hope its a great month for us all

OP posts:

She looks lovely, gracemargaret! She looks very cute among all that outsize furniture.

I'm not sure 'cute' is a word I'd use to describe my dd in her pic. More like some tyrannical leader's wife who's just crushed a military coup by torturing some generals with her stilettos and having her pic taken to commemmorate the happy event

On a slightly more innocent note: has anyone heard back about the BHS back-to-school shoot?

Kitsch kids model agency? Anyone with them, heard of it? Friend asked me for info but can't seem to find much.

goingfor3 · 10/03/2008 18:53

Very cool pictures in Junior atlin and gracemargaret!

DD was option for BHS from 8th - 20th of March but she's been cancelled as they don't have the sample sizes. This has also happened to someone elses DD. I don't know if the whls shots been cancelled or just our dds.

liahgen · 10/03/2008 19:32

My little fella got Asda shoot Friday. Got to be in Old street for half bloody 9!!

Don't these people realise we have other lives? They're never ready when you get there anyway. (rant over)

Lovely junior pics ladies,

BTW, anyone who gets BHS, will do ok, cos they use the same kids over and over once they find some they like. My ds had about 3 yrs of constant work from them couple years ago.

altin · 11/03/2008 11:38

liahgen: good luck to you and ds for asda. I'm sure you don't need it as it sounds like you're a veteran at this! Thanks for the info re BHS. KL have told me they're still waiting to hear back and should hear today. Maybe it's a sample size thing too.

Thanks also for your kind comments (and to goingfor3) about dd and Junior. I'm very proud of her

don't you think Junior take the pee regarding payments.? Everyone else pays good money but they seem to think the kudos of just being in the mag is enough.

That said, it usually is, lol. Never stopped me doing junior, although every time I moan about them. Some people are never satisfied eh?

gracemargaret · 11/03/2008 15:34

Thanks to all for lovely comments.

Atlin your description made me laugh so much - I think that was exactly the look they were going for! Both your kids are beautiful - not surprised they get work!

Know what you mean about Junior (if I were really mean I should be making my dd hand it all over to cover the train fares!! .

Anyone doing John Richmond?

liahgen · 11/03/2008 17:24

my friends boy is doing John Richmond. He is in the current brochure. Blonde hair, moody looks.

mehdismummy · 11/03/2008 17:31

i keep being told ds should do modelling but dont know where to start. Any advice? And please look at my pics. I think i might just be biast(pp)

liahgen · 11/03/2008 18:01

hi there, he's gorgeous. Just a thought, if you are interested in modelling, and imo you should give it a go, you might want to think about keeping his hair as it was, just that little bit longer than the last pic.

Just send couple clear shots to couple agencies and see how you get on.
where do you live?

How is he with strangers?

mehdismummy · 11/03/2008 18:41

hi there yes i love his hair curly! He loves to be centre of attention and poses for pics! I live in london. Can you recommend anyone? Do i have to pay a fee up front?

goingfor3 · 11/03/2008 18:45

mehdismummy your son is gorgeous!!!! The first agencies you should try are Bruce and Brown, Urban Angels, Kids London and MOT. They don't charge huge start up fees and are considered to be the top four london childrens agencies. Good luck

liahgen · 11/03/2008 18:52

agree with goingfor3.

clear shots with nothing on head/face. let us know how you get on.
good luck

mehdismummy · 11/03/2008 19:05

totallyfloaty35 · 11/03/2008 19:20

sha11 · 13/03/2008 01:17

hi, we're also waiting on the BHS job for my DDs between 8 - 20 march but I have been told by agency that the shoot is on 28 mar -1 apr, so theres still time

totallyfloaty35 · 13/03/2008 12:18

My dd was pencilled for those dates for bhs,but i was told last week that whole shoot was cancelled as they had probs with the samples.

Mum1369 · 14/03/2008 13:22

Anyone do the Debenhams shoot this morning ??
I was wondering if it was for a catalogue or something ???

littleboo · 14/03/2008 13:30

Hi all
Am looking for some advice and you all seem really knowledgeable.
Living in the shropshire area, so pretty close to manchester or birmingham - does any one have any names of reputable agencies in this area, have a ds2 aged 3 - would like to try with him.

julie4travel · 15/03/2008 11:29

littleboo, there is boss in manchester who are supposed to be good, i have heard of one called number one in birmingham yet only ever heard of them at one fashion show so wouldnt have a clue what they are like.

check out www.alba.info for lists of reputable agencies and ones to steer clear of.

Bizzy kids are good and take on all over England so could be a good option for you, yet you have to pay a one off fee which is better than some of the yearly fee agents.

alterantively urban angels, bruce and brown and mot may take you on with your location , its worth a try.

good luck

littleboo · 15/03/2008 16:51

thanks julie, will give thoses a go.

littleboo · 15/03/2008 17:04

tried www.alba and just got something about waste management!!!!!
Also read that bizzy kids aren't any good?? any info on that please

brooke77 · 15/03/2008 18:19

From what I hear Bizzykidz are a very good agency for some ! I think they have quite a lot of children on their books and I know those who have had a lot of work and those who have had none ! But this can happen with any agency.. it's all down to the client and what they are looking for. Bizzykids charge a one off fee which is pretty reasonable compared to some agencies. Best thing is to send off some photos of your little one (you can email them) and see what happens from there.. Best of luck !

julie4travel · 16/03/2008 15:37

littleboo - my dd is with bk and we had 2 castings within 2 months of joining which was the same as we had had in a year with our old agency. one of those castings was purely a bk casting as they get repeat clients as they have been going years. for us they have been good and i cant complain. i do know people who have had work from them, yes they do have a lot more kids on their books compared to other agents.

littleboo · 16/03/2008 15:54

Thanks julie and B77 - just that I googled BK and it came up with all these reports saying don't touch them.... so was a bit concerned
Thanks for the details, will check them out
