HI all, have started our new thread, thought it was a good time to do so, as nobody seemed to be mid-conversation, at least I hope so!!!
Lets hope its a great month for us all

oh yeah, and having a few quid in the bank for their future is helping i'd say, not ruining their future. I always speak out to the people that say that, as often it's people who have no knowledge of the industry.

PurpleStar13 · 29/02/2008 18:42

Well that was my thoughts - if my DS even tried it, he'd be brought down to earth with a bump!!

I am based in Surrey, about an hour train journey from London. Should I stick to the London based agencies, or do the ones further a field tend to do castings etc in London anyhow?

Money for his future is v.important. My prob would be if he's earning and DD isn't, what do I do for her financially?!!

christabel · 29/02/2008 21:52

Anybody got any dealings with agencies in the north / yorkshire.

Rubystar77 · 29/02/2008 22:57

hi all..purple star, i'd still apply even if not taking on at mo, they are not going to say no if your son is what they want on there agent especially as he is young they change quick. my dd2 is 15 months with scallywags, shes not had any work tho. other daughter is 2 and a bit and she is with bk...

PurpleStar13 · 01/03/2008 13:21

Hi All
Rubystar - I did think about applying anyhow, I think infact I did with one, and I got an autoreply email telling me to reapply at the right time!

Whos BK?!

Tinkerbel6 · 01/03/2008 17:56

BK are BizzyKidz, I wouldnt beleive everything you read on the net regarding peoples opinions as we have trolls on here who often come out with the same drivel, if you are worried about your daughter not having any moeny maybe you can put a little bit away for her each week, or you can even put her in for modelling if its what she wants to do.

mummyeme · 02/03/2008 11:10

Tyac,
I amazed that agencies are giving out passwords to people so they can have a look at everyones kids. Which agencies are they as it is a breach of contract?

bogie · 02/03/2008 11:16

christabel we were with dk models in sheffield (most of there work is leeds yorkshire ect) they are good. They don't get masses of work but they get a bit ds had a mamas and papas job with them.

julie4travel · 02/03/2008 22:15

purplestar13- my kids love modelling, they are confident going to castings and jobs. they adapt to working with different people. they still enjoy all the other things that kids enjoy like playing with friends, football etc. my kids are just normal children and modelling is just something they do which they enjoy. the money goes into their bank accounts for uni, cars or whatever they want to use it for when they are old enough. if they didnt want to do it i would stop it like a shot, i would never force them into doing something they didnt want to do like any hobi.

Lolly68 · 03/03/2008 10:58

Hello all... havent posted for a while.

DD has casting tomorrow and if she gets it will be job straight after. Its for Ovalrite(?) or something like that. Even the agency seemed a bit unsure!

Also waiting to hear if she has been confirmed again for M&S on Monday.

dancerdeb · 03/03/2008 10:58

mummyeme · 05/03/2008 19:23

Hi Julie,
Only just found your message, sorry. We haven't heard back either re shoe size thing, aparently it was for Startrite hey ho at least we're all in the loop!

julie4travel · 06/03/2008 21:28

mummyeme - you never know! we havent heard on it either

altin - lucky you with twins, hopefully they will both get booked on jobs together. we did a shoot dec witha twin yet identical so they share out the jobs between them. you never know we may see you as my ds is that agegroup.

gracemargaret · 08/03/2008 22:53

Hi altin,

u don't know me but I live in Derbyshire and my dd met your lovely dd (and ds) on the Junior shoot (small world eh!)- they were very sweet comparing mad hairdos and crazy outfits!! My dd has only been with agency since Jan and this was her first job ever so she was really excited - Hilton was fab although yes, no mini- bar unfortunately!! . DD has had a few castings (as has her sister) and another coming up soon so really enjoying it. Everything so far seems to be London though so might join Manchester agency who have said won't charge us if use own pics - might save on fares!

Good luck to everyone with castings/jobs!

mum2twosantas · 09/03/2008 09:26

gracemargaret....
just wondered who u were with, as im also in derbyshire, but none of the 4 big london agencies with take the boys as we arent in london!!
just curious lol
nikki

mum2twosantas · 09/03/2008 09:27

oops-still xmas name lol

gracemargaret · 09/03/2008 10:21

Hi mum2twosantas!!

we're with BK who have been fantastic - very helpful and have not had a problem with us not being in London - helps a lot that my work is flexible and school are good so can do last minute.

would def. recommend BK - also try "real" agency in Manchester - used to be Boss model management I think (although only taking kids on later in the year now) or "kidz".

Good luck

altin · 09/03/2008 14:37

Hi there, gracemargaret!

Is indeed a small world

I'm really glad your dd seemed to enjoy her first job so much. I really wish I'd been there, now.

Are your dd's pics in Junior? I bought April's the other day and my dd is in the Party Animals section. dh says she looks like two parts Amy Winehouse & eight parts Imelda Marcos (I'm not sure that's necessarily a good thing )

Take care and good luck to you, gracemargaret, and anyone else up for jobs/castings this month.

altinx

gracemargaret · 09/03/2008 16:40

yep - she's on the massive chair, also in party animals section! Pic very strange - she looks about 20 - think it's the big hair!! They all look fabulous though - You don't think you'll be sticking with the Winehouse/Marcos look then? lol ;)
