spoke to my superman this morning, he was about to be pounced upon by physios so wasnt best pleased.

He has had a new IV in, so hoping the central line will be out later. He seems so much better, and is joking about. Cant belive its been a week since our lives changed within moments. He is hoping to be home in about 4-5 weeks, if all carries on well. I cant wait to see him, and give him a hug with no wires and tubes getting in the way. To have him back in our bed, the bed we bought and he slept in for about 3 weeks only.

i am thinking of writing a letter soon to the donor family.

Miss J will be over the moon when she finds out. Better tell Nicole to carry some tissues! Especially when you look back at how bleak it all was at the end of term. The weather may be rubbish but this has been the best summer holiday you, Peter and the girls could hope for. By the time he's home we will all be back at school so the sun will be shining again!

maisym · 22/08/2007 19:48

wonderful news for you all xxx

super idea to write to the donor family as it must be a very sad time for them.

carrieannesmum · 22/08/2007 19:55

I've emailed it. Enjoy the curry. You need to work out how all five of you are going to fit in that bed soon! It will be a shock for the girls won't it.

LadyVictoriaOfCake · 22/08/2007 20:02

well we can fit 4 in the bed, i am sure peter can squeeze in on the edge lol.

carrieannesmum · 22/08/2007 20:35

But he has got used to having his own bed and pressing a button to get whatever he requires

tigerschick · 22/08/2007 20:45

Just wanted to come on and say how great it is to hear more good news about Peter.
4-5 weeks sounds brilliant!

WinnieThePooh · 22/08/2007 21:00

Glad to hear that Peter is improving every day and will soon be home with you.

ambercat · 22/08/2007 21:04

So happy for you all Misdee, have been away for a few days and am just catching up on Peters progress.
Sounds like its all going to plan and you will be a family togrther again before to long

LadyVictoriaOfCake · 22/08/2007 22:21

another mini-update. not for the squeamish, you have been warned.

they have fitted a 'vac-pump' today. basically, where the LVAD was, had left two very big open wounds leading to his heart. so they did have them packed for a wile, then bagged and allowed them to drain. but now this vac-pump is in. they stuff the holes with foam, put the vac in, well, do ineed to carry on? [barfs] it basically sucks all the gunge and crap in the wound that shouldnt be there. Peter said it will be used for about 3 weeks.
