spoke to my superman this morning, he was about to be pounced upon by physios so wasnt best pleased.

He has had a new IV in, so hoping the central line will be out later. He seems so much better, and is joking about. Cant belive its been a week since our lives changed within moments. He is hoping to be home in about 4-5 weeks, if all carries on well. I cant wait to see him, and give him a hug with no wires and tubes getting in the way. To have him back in our bed, the bed we bought and he slept in for about 3 weeks only.

i am thinking of writing a letter soon to the donor family.

well today was the big fun run. The girls love this, as it means they get a new t-shirt(anyone ouwld think i dont buy them clothes), a number on their back and a goodie bag afterwards full of little treasures like keyrings and pens.

Serena ran round over half the course (1mile), and then tried to get in the buggy for the last 10metres, untill everyone started clapping her then ran across the finish line yelling 'I WIN!!' Nicole, lauren and i were just laughing as we staggered over the line.

We kidnapped Peter from the ward, who is now very hairy (i want the beard gone, you'll see pics why in a minute lol) and looks very tall. He walked the main corrdior then needed thje wheelchair. we had some ice cream, the girls took part i na tug of war (girls won, yay!!), chatted to a few transplant friends, then took peter back.

Was a gorgeous day. Home has been mentioned again for later this week, but he needs another biopsy, apparently thursdays shows NO sign of rejection so thats good.

Am getting very anxious myself about him coming home. got loads to do here so once serena settles back down i am off to tackle the laundry pile.

LOL at Serena

Great news about Peter's continued great progress.

triplets · 09/09/2007 21:10

LVOC,
Thank you for the update, so nice to "hear" a sense of happiness and relief in your message, love to you all, xxx

gibberish · 09/09/2007 21:12

You sound so happy Misdee. Makes my heart glow.

tissy · 09/09/2007 21:18

LVOC- glad Peter is doing so well- even if the vac pump is still needed next week, it shouldn't hinder his discharge, they do a portable one! It's a doddle, and most of the district nurses are familiar with them. I'm sure he would rather be home pumpless, but this one is no bigger than a handbag!

Pinkchampagne · 09/09/2007 21:24

So pleased to hear Peter is doing so well!

Iklboo · 10/09/2007 13:40

Iklboo · 13/09/2007 13:52

SenoraPostrophe · 13/09/2007 20:44

. I'm so pleased for you.

JackieNo · 13/09/2007 20:45

I think the latest is that there was a possibility that he might come home today, but it's now looking more likely to be early next week.

JackieNo · 13/09/2007 20:46

This is the latest thread, I think.

misdee · 11/03/2015 16:08

Lovely news, I never knew your name change and last I read you had 5 DCs. How fab that Peter has a wee pal too.
