spoke to my superman this morning, he was about to be pounced upon by physios so wasnt best pleased.

He has had a new IV in, so hoping the central line will be out later. He seems so much better, and is joking about. Cant belive its been a week since our lives changed within moments. He is hoping to be home in about 4-5 weeks, if all carries on well. I cant wait to see him, and give him a hug with no wires and tubes getting in the way. To have him back in our bed, the bed we bought and he slept in for about 3 weeks only.

i am thinking of writing a letter soon to the donor family.

been searching for this thread, couldnt find it lol, JARM help ed me again

Peter is doing really well, his surgeon will assess his old LVAD wound tomorrow, to see about removing the pump before he comes home, which should hopefully be NEXT WEEK!

He is on an anti-viral drug called valgoncyclovir (sp) because he has i think CMV. He cant fully remember whjat the nurse said it was, but having looking up the drug on the internet, wikipedia says its used to treat this. will double check over the weekend what its for, but am pretty certain its that, as he said it sounds familar.

He is walking further, can now walk upstairs, and is looking so much better.

His anti-rejection drugs have also appeared to have cleared up his eczema, have never seen his skin so smooth.

h has a partially collasped lung. nothing to worry about, is 'normal', but does account for his lower stats than usual.
