Layering up is indeed the best way to stay warm as the weather turns chilly. Fortunately HBFs also come with cloaks and coats which makes them doubly effective

Afternoon. It's nearly dark already.

Oh, scary dream LetUs. I dreamt our house had been turned into a hotel and there was a couple snogging in my bed. I needed the loo and couldn't find a bathroom, and then when I did it didn't have a door. My anxiety dreams always involve needing a loo.

I went to sleep in the middle of The Little Drummer Girl so don't know what it was about.

It’s daaaaaaarrrrrrrkkkkkk and I don’t like it. Nearly dark when I left work and properly dark by the time I got home. Hate hate hate it.

The FAF helped very much.

Today I have mostly been sewing and reading and ferrying DS about. I have probably done other stuff - oh yes, washing, but I don't really remember. And did a bit of the jigsaw that is currently on the go round here. And did some hoovering. Isn't life exciting? (Not.) Why can't we have more HBFs in our lives?

It’s simply not fair is it Helen? Us wenches deserve HBFs.

Having said that, I do like a jigsaw. In fact, I’ve got a new one that I’ve not opened yet. I’m going to plan in my head when I’m going to open it so that I’ve got something just for me to look forward to.

Have just watched Only Connect with DS2. Got quite a few right and solved both of the walls (this is good going for us). The football’s on now.

We're doing a "Where's Wally" jigsaw. Part of the picture on the box is obscured by a large picture of fecking Wally. It's a bit of a nightmare. But also fun.

DH has football on. DS is in bed feeling sorry for himself (fell over at MondaySportingActivity plus he's knackered) I think I'm heading for a bath and bed.

It is no longer cold in here. DH lit the woodburner and it's currently 27 which is nice, I think? But makes the rest of the house feel even colder because the heat doesn't circulate through the house very well.

That’s annoying re the jigsaw picture on the box. MiniHelen’s been in the wars recently hasn’t he? Poor thing. If, for instance, his mum could get some quality and quantity time in the bath and hayloft with an HBF, I think that would help, because happy mum equals happy child.

Fancy I am more than willing and extremely able to help you do your to do list. I think even with us both taking entries , it’ll still take some time to achieve satisfactory completion of the list

I do like our 'to do' lists... and Yes to finishing things off - it's very satisfying to get properly finished off.

You're right of course LetUs - happy mother = happy child. And after an initial grouch at being sent to bed early for being tired, he was very asleep happy until 5am when he got into bed with me feeling very unhappy because he couldn't get back to sleep and he had TOLD me that if I made him turn his lights out early that this would happen, and now he was awake and couldn't get back to sleep So then he demanded a back rub and fell asleep on me until 6:30. Tired mother = happy child.

This morning it is cloudy and rainy. But not -7 And there are things in our loft and in the extension walls. Not Wolves, fortunately, and not spiders (because they don't nibble and scratch) I am thinking more mousy things. And Birds, who scuffle very noisly when they're roosting under the tiles. AAh, the joys of nature

Afternoon. Very cold here. DS and Co. are at the caravan, not far from Powys, and they had -7 last night. We're going on Thursday so it had better warm up by then.

We've had DGS today, and yesterday, so not much has been done.

Woohooooo spent a lot of extra time in traffic both to and from work today! Hurrah! And it’s like this for the next week! Have told DS1 he has to collect DS2 from the childminder’s tomorrow as it was after 6 by the time I got home. He’s as thrilled as you can imagine.

Urgh LetUs - that's a bit rubbish crap we are going to get a road dualled in a couple of years. It will be fab when it's done, and hideous while they're doing it.
