Layering up is indeed the best way to stay warm as the weather turns chilly. Fortunately HBFs also come with cloaks and coats which makes them doubly effective Grin

Mmm at beef brisket

Hope you get MiniHelen’s communications fixed for tomorrow. Shall check out TB later.

Love a wood burner.

Scoring on Strictly was bonkers again.

Letus I have some time off after New Year so that'll be nice.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 27/10/2018 22:44

I thoroughly recommend The Sealwoman's Gift which I've just finished.

Now I need to hit the hayloft, because tomorrow, homework hell (of the 'holiday project' variety) will be in full force. And DH is out for the afternoon, which may or may not being a good thing, depending on how well DS and I get on - if whether we need an impartial referee to stop us arguing. Or if we get on swimmingly in peace and quiet without being distracted by DH trying to help too. Grin

LetUsPrey · 27/10/2018 23:24

New year is a long time away. Take things a bit easier okay

Ah yes, when they decide to offer their valuable help and opinions. Nope, feck off.

We’re watching SEAL Team. Is okay.

Hayloft for me soon.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 28/10/2018 07:28

Hurrah hurrah for the extra hour in the hayloft with Athos

Now I must stew apples, because I didn't do any yesterday...

LetUsPrey · 28/10/2018 08:19

Morning wenches. DS2 still hasn’t embraced the concept of the extra hour.

Good luck with apples and homework Helen.

Sportingactivity this morning, ironing later. HBFs all the live long day.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 28/10/2018 09:32

Oh DS was a star this morning. I heard him get up and go to the loo at about 5:30 new time but he went back to bed and read for an hour. Star for DS

This may be because we sneaked about the house last night changing all the clocks so it didn't necessarily register with him that he's not woken up any earlier than normal. Not sure. Either way - hurrah for him not dragging me out of bed before the clocks said 6:30 Grin

One batch of apples is stewing away, homework hasn't been looked at. Yes please to HBFs all day long...

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 28/10/2018 09:58

Ooooh, stern Letus Wink

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 28/10/2018 10:54

Take a long weekend to chill. (Not literally chill, more 'stay in and keep warm and be nice to yourself')

LetUsPrey · 28/10/2018 11:13

Double stern wench for you there Wicked Grin

Well done to MiniHelen for letting you have a much needed sleep Helen

Need to chivvy DS1 along. Again.

Just a few from HBI today

Get close to shoulder height if you can
Keep it tight and expand into it, and your hips are how you’ll generate power
Tense the muscles in the body without moving too much and then relax

Have just watched Sweet Home Alabama —for about the billionth time—

OP posts:
ApricotCrush · 28/10/2018 16:46

Afternoon. God it's been a long day. I did an hour of jobs first thing before putting the clocks back, so feel I didn't waste it as I usually do.

Hope you're feeling a bit better today WW.

Re that article on TB - broad in the beam??? I don't think so! I think he meant broad shouldered. Confused

Grin at HBI. Yes to bonkers scoring on Strictly.

LetUsPrey · 28/10/2018 19:25

Yes, TB is definitely not broad in the beam.

All homework appears to be done.

Went to see the parents earlier, and had a lovely chat with mother.

Watching Doctor Who —from behind a cushion— later with DH as neither DC want to watch.

Having another bottle of that Swedish cider from Aldi. The Swedes know a thing or two about cider. Interestingly, this cider is gluten free and suitable for vegans, which is nice.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 28/10/2018 20:38

Gah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SPIDERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We are now back to watching the Grand Prix (which doest have spiders - phew!)

You know, I assumed that 'Broad in the Beam' was referring to shoulder width, or just 'tall and broad'. I didn't realise it was a euphamism for being fat.

LetUsPrey · 28/10/2018 21:15

I think it particularly refers to the hip/bottom area. Rude.

Were there lots of those things in tonight’s episode? Trying to weigh up if I’ll miss more than I watch.

Watching The Hobbit whilst waiting for DH and DS1. Gollum’s really going for it. Creepy little fucker.

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 28/10/2018 21:49

Just as well DS2 isn’t watching Doctor Who with us. I’m swearing rather a lot.

OP posts:
SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 28/10/2018 21:51

I gather so, from googling 'wide in the beam'. Ah well And also at the loud fans.

There are quite a lot of things in tonight's episode but no worse than in 'Harry Potter and the flying car/ trip into forest / whichever book that was' to be honest. To sooth your nerves...
The one in the neighbour's flat is under the bed; make sure you check the ceilings when you're spider hunting in the hotel; and they don't come up through the plug-hole so much as demolish the entire bath as they arrive. Touching webs does not bring sudden spider surprises.

I still haven't seen the Hobbit - DS and DH watched it while I was away. Have you got Lee Pace in this one? And Richard Armitage? And Aiden Turner? Plethora of FAF for your list Grin

That was very productive apricot - I spent the extra hour asleep, which was time very well spent as far as I'm concerned. DS has gone out like a light tonight - of course he's still operating on summertime. Homework has progressed tolerably well...

LetUsPrey · 28/10/2018 21:59

We’ve just got to the bath bit. I am ignoring the TV. I also didn’t watch those bits with Aragog in them in the HP films.

Plenty to enjoy in The Hobbit films Grin

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 28/10/2018 22:10

We're catching up on a Silliness of Witches. I think I'd rather be in the hayloft, or the bath, but ho hum... DH is also recordig a new series of Midnight Texas.

I think I'm going to borrow one of those things from Doctor Who - there's a bloody annoying fly buzzing about our living room Angry

LetUsPrey · 28/10/2018 22:36

Silliness of Witches is a very accurate retitling Grin. I do look forward to it though.

I’ve recorded Little Drummer Girl that started on BBC1 tonight, and we’re a week behind with Informer. Black Earth Rising finishes tomorrow though so that’ll free up Monday evenings.

I think I shall head to the hayloft where various HBFs can take my mind off the thought that tomorrow is Monday.

Morning wenches.

Is very frosty and chilly here.

Had a nightmare featuring being terrorised by a malevolent ghost in a house in France. It was fucking terrifying and I’ve woken up feeling all discombobulated. Great start to the week.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 29/10/2018 08:04

Stern and serious-looking HBFs to the rescue LetUs...

Don't remember what my dream was, but serious chilly here too, with a frost - the grass was distinctly crunchy underfoot. Time to go pick the sloes so they can go mouldy in the fridge while DH fails to make sloe gin again Hmm Grin

DS came in at 5:45

This too will pass...

Back to school today - doom. Back to the grind of making packed lunches and stuff.

That ... that all helps Helen. Thank you.

You’ll be needing help keeping warm. This cloak should help.

I’ll be in the cupboard with those HBFs. We’ll be, erm, discussing tactics.

Morning

Work today - shame as it's frosty out there & I would prefer to spend the morning in my nice warm bed

Sounds like a horrible dream letus, hope the faf is helping you forget....

Good news about the dentist ww, hopefully getting back to just you & the cats in the house will make for a more, erm, restful envirinment for you?
